Stayed at Le客 Hotel in Chiayi for a business trip. The location is convenient, the room is clean, and the staff are friendly. However, it's been a bit cold these past few days, and I found the comforter wasn't warm enough, making it a bit chilly at night. Also, the soundproofing of the room door is poor; the noise from doors opening and closing next door was quite loud and easily woke me up. If the warmth and soundproofing could be improved, the overall stay would be much better.

We had a pleasant stay. The location is ideal for exploring the surrounding area. The staff is professional and helpful. The room was spacious and clean. The beds are on the firm side (Asian standard). We also made good use of the facilities such as the water dispenser and the washing and drying machines. The VIP lounge made us feel very welcome.

This hostel is super close to Chiayi train station, which is incredibly convenient. It's located down an alleyway, so it's not noisy at all. Light Hostel is by far the most satisfying hostel I've ever stayed in, both in terms of cleanliness and facilities. It offers great value for money: 1. The lobby has individual shoe lockers, and you change into indoor slippers before entering the rooms, which is very hygienic. 2. The dorm beds have blackout curtains, providing privacy and preventing disturbances from roommates. There's a small reading light at the head of the bed, so you don't have to worry about dim lighting when reading or using your phone at night. There are hooks at the foot of the bed for hanging clothes or towels. 3. The bathrooms are exceptionally clean and tidy. If you're an early riser or come back late, there are hairdryers in the common area, so you don't disturb your roommates. Each room has its own water heater, so you don't have to wait long for hot water when showering. 4. The lobby has a water dispenser with 24-hour hot water, and both the kitchen and common areas are very clean. If you're visiting Chiayi, Light Hostel is an excellent choice!

I had a pleasant stay at Staryi Hotel in Chiayi. The location is spot on, right opposite Chiayi Train Station, which makes it very convenient. There are also YouBike stations just around the corner, so it’s easy to move around the city. They upgraded my room to a two double-bed room, so the space was huge! The bed and pillows were very comfortable, and the bathroom water pressure was strong, which I always appreciate after a long travel day. A special thanks to the hotel for storing my luggage one day in advance. This helped me a lot because I could go up to Alishan with just a backpack, making the trip much easier. The staff were very friendly and helpful, which made the stay even more pleasant. Overall, a comfortable stay in a very convenient location. Would definitely recommend it.

This time, I stayed in a bunk bed quad room on a Friday night. The room generally looked clean, but there was dust around the headboard. If you have allergies, this might not be suitable for you. This was my first time staying here, in a bunk bed quad room on the third floor. What was really bothersome was the terrible soundproofing. The noise from above, below, and next door was very noticeable, with a motor sound keeping me up all night. Guests on the same floor slammed their doors shut very loudly. I could also clearly hear people walking upstairs. I saw reviews saying it's backpacker-friendly, but if you're looking for comfort, this probably isn't a good choice. The next morning, around 7 AM, guests on the same floor started checking out. Housekeeping was also very quick to clean the rooms, but this disturbed us as we weren't ready to check out yet. Housekeeping didn't seem to care if there were still guests, opening and closing doors very loudly while cleaning. I think when closing the door, they could just gently guide it shut. Unfortunately, they didn't, and this noise continued until past 9 AM. I felt this whole experience made for a very unpleasant stay. The noise was genuinely incredibly loud. It's a backpacker-friendly hostel, but I wouldn't recommend it for anyone with poor sleep quality.

This hotel's biggest selling point is definitely its location: it's right behind Chiayi Train Station, about a 3–5 minute walk away. For anyone needing to catch an early train or get an early start, it's incredibly convenient – I'd give the location full marks. There was a slight hiccup on check-in day: the front desk was initially unattended, and we waited about 15 minutes before someone appeared to help us. I hope the hotel can improve this (e.g., by ensuring staff are present or providing clear contact information). The room's cleanliness was pretty good; the carpet showed no obvious stains, and overall it was comfortable. However, one downside was the lack of a table or surface in the room to put things, especially when bringing back food from the night market. It was a bit tricky figuring out where to put it or how to eat, which detracts from the practicality. On the other hand, the breakfast was a pleasant surprise: I particularly loved their pork floss, which was genuinely softer and crispier than what you usually find at breakfast buffets – excellent with plain congee. The braised pork rice (luroufan) is also worth mentioning; the braised pork had a good fat-to-lean ratio, making it fragrant and delicious with the rice. However, I do have a suggestion: the tofu pudding/dessert area should ideally have a cover or protection. I noticed mosquitoes flying into it, and the tofu pudding itself had a slightly sour taste, not feeling very fresh. I hope this area can be improved. In summary: if your priority is convenient transportation and needing to catch trains, this hotel is very suitable. But if you value an in-room desk/dining space, you might need to adjust your expectations.

This hotel is super convenient, right across from the Chiayi MRT Station. You can even see the bus stop for Alishan from the station exit. Plus, the MRT offers a free shuttle to the Chiayi Southern Branch of the National Palace Museum, which is a huge bonus. The room was spacious and felt quite new compared to other places in the area. The bedding was clean. Breakfast had limited options, but it was enough to fill up on.

The room was very clean and soundproofed really well. This was our first stop in Taiwan, and it left a fantastic first impression! It's great value for money, and the front desk service was excellent; they didn't treat me any differently just because I'm from mainland China. The location is perfect, right near the night market, which is super convenient. I had some food waste from eating out and nowhere to throw it away, and the staff even helped me dispose of it. If I ever get the chance to visit again, I'd definitely stay here! I checked my photos and realized I didn't take any of the room, just a picture of the table when I was eating in the lobby, haha.

The breakfast buffet offers a delightful mix of both Thai and ********* cuisine. While the menu isn't extremely extensive, it was perfectly satisfying for my two morning meals. It takes nearly 30 minutes to walk from Chiayi TRA Station, and though I walked since I had light luggage, I'd recommend taking a bus or taxi. However, many famous tourist spots and the night market are within walking distance. There's also a convenience store right next to the hotel. Most of the staff speak English, and there was even someone at the front desk who spoke a little Japanese, which made my stay very reassuring! I'd definitely want to stay at this hotel again if I visit Chiayi.

I chose An Lan Jie Hotel primarily for its location, and it did not disappoint. It's literally a 3-5 minute walk from Chiayi Train Station and the bus pick-up point for Alishan . If you're planning an early morning trip up the mountain, you simply cannot beat this convenience. There's also a Family Mart right across the street and plenty of local eateries nearby . The staff were a highlight—genuinely friendly, helpful, and spoke good English . They provided clear instructions for self-check-in (the whole place uses digital door codes, so you don't need to worry about losing a key card) . I stayed in a private room, which was clean, comfortable, and exactly as pictured. The common area on the 14th floor is a real bonus—it's beautifully decorated, has a great city view, and offers free tea and coffee for guests . The bed was comfortable, and the Wi-Fi worked well . A few small things to note: the bathrooms are functional but can be a bit compact [7]. Also, be aware that towels aren't provided (you can rent one for a small fee), so you might want to bring your own . Overall, this is a fantastic, budget-friendly option for solo travelers or couples who prioritize location and cleanliness. It’s the perfect base for exploring Chiayi and catching that first bus to Alishan. I would definitely stay here again.
