Amazing

GBHere there everywhere
Clean hotel with basic amenities, with pretty rooms.❤️ Located in a quiet residential neighborhood, a half an hour's walk to the Eiffel tower 🗼and lots of museums🎨. There are a lot of train/metro stations nearby🚝🚉, a minute or two away. There is an overwhelm of award winning cafes ☕🥐 everywhere so you are spoilt for choice. The check-in process is very smooth, the staff friendly. The room is quiet, you cannot hear the street outside with closed windows, but you might hear your neighbours showering/coughing. Overall great stay 😊

This hotel is part of the Palais des Congrès de Paris complex, and it's one of the few high-rise buildings in the city. From my 8th-floor room facing south, I could see both the Eiffel Tower and the Arc de Triomphe. Getting to the metro is super convenient; you can walk directly through the convention center, which is a huge plus in often rainy Paris. The breakfast was incredibly rich, offering rice, omelets, stir-fried vegetables, and over five kinds of fruit, plus hazelnut chocolate. The room was quite spacious by Parisian standards. Just a heads-up, Montmartre Hill, as shown in some photos, isn't actually visible – I had to stick my phone out the window to capture it. Now, a special warning about the taxis right outside the hotel. They are dishonest, so be careful. Taxis from Charles de Gaulle Airport to central Paris have a fixed zone-based fare: 65 euros for the Left Bank and 56 euros for the Right Bank. If you order a taxi via an app or phone, there's an additional 4-euro booking fee. We took a taxi from the hotel, which is on the Right Bank. The concierge confirmed the fixed fare would be 56 euros. However, after hailing a taxi right outside, the driver tried to charge us 65 euros (the Left Bank rate) plus a 4-euro booking fee upon arrival at the airport. After a lengthy argument, and even calling the hotel, the driver finally charged 56 euros plus the 4-euro booking fee. So, even after arguing, we still ended up paying the extra booking fee. The room was very well-equipped, with cooking utensils provided, and the dishwasher was a big plus; however, the air conditioning and heating systems kept turning off automatically, and the heater wouldn't turn on. After we reported this, the hotel provided breakfast for us one day because the repairs didn't take place until after check-out! Very nice! 👍🏻

The room was small but MORE than adequate for a solo traveler. They also incorporated storage spaces that I didn't even use, since as under-bed drawers and a little closet. I thought it was a very clever use of space. The air conditioning in my room was very good and kept the room quite cool. The room was clean when I arrived and perfectly refreshed each day when I returned. I very much enjoyed my stay. The shower in the bathroom was my only difficulty. It was small enough that I couldn't bend over. 🤣 But all in all, it was a very efficient use of space and perfectly adequate for a space I only occupied to sleep I also liked having local TV stations, as I got to watch the fireworks on Bastille Day. I don't know what the hamman is. I think there were plenty of transportation options nearby, but as a solo woman, I felt mildly uncomfortable with the vibe of the neighborhood. It didn't feel dangerous at all. But there were quite a few homeless people between the hotel and any bus stop/train station. I don't know a solution. I just think a solo woman traveler would want to know this. Again, I never felt unsafe. Just a little ”aware” of my vulnerability at night. I would 100% stay here again.

I stayed for 7 days. The location is excellent, and I felt at ease knowing that English was spoken.✨ **Location:** It's within walking distance of the Arc de Triomphe and Avenue des Champs-Élysées, meaning there are tons of train and bus lines available! You can even get to the Eiffel Tower and Disneyland without any transfers. Access to Charles de Gaulle Airport is also good, taking about 50 minutes by train or 35 minutes by car. I also went to Orly Airport for one night to visit Nice. You can get to the airport line (CDG, ORLY) with just one transfer, so the location is truly fantastic. **Amenities:** Water and potato chips were provided daily. Tea and a kettle were also available, which was a nice touch. There are no toothbrushes, pajamas, or slippers. I brought my own slippers to use in the room. I never quite figured out why some days there were no chips or water (lol). **Cleanliness:** Bed making was done meticulously every day. It seems towels are only replaced if left on the floor; they weren't replaced on days I left them on the shelf.

The cleanliness was passable – at least I didn't get bitten by bugs, but the bugs in the elevator lobby were a different story... The environment was decent. Many European tour groups stay here. The hotel is right next to the subway, and our room was on the side closer to the park, so it was very quiet. One time, we left the room with the key card in to keep the power on, but when we came back after grabbing a bite, the key card was gone. I went to the front desk to ask about it. I told them it's fine if they remove it, but they should leave it on the counter. Otherwise, what if they accuse me of missing a card, or what if they use a key card to enter my room whenever they want? A middle-aged woman, who seemed like a local French person, was incredibly arrogant. She didn't even look at me properly and simply replied, 'We just took it out.' The bathtub drain was clogged, so I had to pull out the stopper every day.

1) The Carrefour supermarket near the hotel showed a closing time of 10 PM on its door, and Google had the same information. However, it's actually open 24 hours, which is great for late-night arrivals. 2) The tea bags provided in the room make for a delicious brew. 3) The bathroom sink is located outside the toilet area, which isn't ideal. If someone uses the toilet at night, or needs to wash and dry their hair, the light or noise from the sink area (which is right next to the bed) can disturb the other person. 4) For the price of the hotel room, it's quite spacious. However, it does take some time to get to by subway, about 20 to 30 minutes, although the hotel is conveniently located near two subway stations. 5) The Wi-Fi password changes daily. I only found this out on the second day when I couldn't connect. You need to scan a QR code every day for Wi-Fi. It would be helpful if the staff informed guests about this during check-in. 6) Apparently, you can't use the air conditioning if the window is open because it's designed to turn off when you leave the room. I spent a long time trying to get the A/C to work after returning to the hotel with the window still open, only to find out from reception that I needed to close the window first. 😅

The hotel's location is excellent: close to the metro, McDonald's, and a grocery store are very close, and all the city center attractions are within walking distance. The staff is helpful and polite. The hotel is in good condition, with a working elevator and plenty of TV channels. The room is small, like all Paris hotels. The most important thing in winter is that the hotel is very warm! The bathroom had a window :) Cons: - No kettle in the room - Safe doesn't work - Very small shower stall (barely fits a 90+ kg person)

AMAKA SPARKLE
Very horrible hotel for black female travellers. I stayed at the Originals with my friend for 3 nights, then another 2 nights. We pre-booked and paid for the 3 nights in FULL before arrival. Upon arrival, we were charged a deposit of €150 Euros which was explained to be a security deposit to be returned after checkout.I had no issues with that and focused on exploring Paris. There was a day my room wasn’t cleaned and I complained to a mixed lady at the hotel reception politely to inform the cleaner and she condescendingly looked at me and blurted “I’m not the cleaner”. I never asked her to be one, I only informed her so she can tell the cleaners to make a stop at my room and refill the shower gel, replace soap and toilet paper. The day I checked out, I missed my flight due to the Paris traffic and had to reschedule my flight to the next available date which was in 48 hours which meant I needs to stay in Paris for another 2 nights. I headed back to the hotel. I don’t know why but our cards refused to work despite being funded. We had some Euros cash left in cash and paid for one extra night. The next day, we asked to extend but our cards wouldn’t work. We informed them that we needed to get some sleep but would try an ATM or go to a BDC to change some Dollars. In between, the cleaner came to the room and yanked off our key card cutting off the light supply, we were barraged with calls from the reception threatening that security was going to escort us out of the room. It’s wild because most of their staff is black and yet they treated us like ****. We saw how white guests were treated and black guests and the difference was clear. Maybe they had an assumption and became discriminatory towards us. Note that 4 nights out of 5 was already paid in FULL and they had a security deposit of over 200 Euros with them. We had to abandon everything and rush to an ATM to withdraw more cash💰 to pay for the final day. Let’s not get into the fact that one of their staff ******* almost tried to be ****** with me. I got into the elevator to go and get water at the restaurant on the 8th floor, he kept looking at my boobs and made suggestive comments about wanting to spend the night with me. He also insisted on a hug. I cried from the experience of that hotel and very horrified. As a travel content creator, I will document my experience with videos when I’m back home and share YouTube videos. If you’re a Nigerian or black woman, please avoid THE ORIGINALS. I was excited to be here but it turned into a nightmare. As a business owner myself and CEO of 3 thriving companies, I saw some many lapses in their customer service. The entire place needs a staff overhaul.
