Location is just next to the lake, which is very good for me to catch the sunset and morning scenery at the lake. Love the tranquility around the lake at night! Love the private onsen which I managed to make it an hour totally on my own! The owners are nice, especially the lady with smile always on her face. They also provide a lovely authentic Japanese breakfast which is nicely presented! The only downside is… it was a bit cold at night as they don’t have heat provided in the room, and you may need to cover yourself with double blankets! Would surely recommend this place especially if you would like to experience a stay like you are with a local Japanese family!

We went to Fukuoka for Chinese New Year, and since my husband loves hot springs, we decided to stay two nights in Yufuin. The inn's location was superb, close to Lake Kinrin, and very quiet. Just a short walk away was Yufuin main street. We booked late, so our only option was a Japanese-Western style room without a private hot spring, which was a pity and a bit disappointing for my husband. Our 'one-night, two-meals' plan was incredibly filling, featuring what seemed like kaiseki cuisine plus either wagyu barbecue or wagyu shabu-shabu. I'm not really an expert on kaiseki, but I could definitely tell the food was exquisite and fresh. Since we don't speak Japanese, the inn assigned a young, English-speaking waitress to attend to us throughout our stay, which was very thoughtful. As I mentioned, the food portions had many courses, and we were quite full by the end. When the waitress asked if we wanted rice and we replied 'just a little,' she seemed genuinely concerned, thinking perhaps we didn't like the food 😅. I wanted to tell her we were simply already full. As for the downsides, my husband found the toilet a bit far from the sink, especially in the private toilet within the bedroom. The inn also didn't offer laundry service; staff advised us to use the laundromat on the main market street if we needed to wash clothes. In the end, we decided against it and waited until we returned to Fukuoka to do our laundry at the hotel there. Also, I imagine the inn is a traditional Japanese establishment, and the staff are quite principled. We were late arriving due to unfamiliarity with the transport, so dinner was pushed back to around 7:30 PM. They seemed a little displeased but remained composed. On our way back, as our preferred train/bus tickets were sold out, we had to leave earlier. The inn was accommodating with our breakfast time. We initially asked them to reduce the portion for the child and just serve scrambled eggs, but they insisted on serving the full original portions, telling us to eat as much as we could. Their reasoning was that since we had paid, we should receive the full amount we ordered, which we respected. We simply didn't want to waste food. Overall, we were satisfied and really appreciated the Japanese culture and traditional decor in all aspects.

Super clean property. Wheels of our luggage gets a wipe down and we need to change to slippers before entering the property. No outside shoes into the property. The host and owners are a lovely and super friendly couple. Two onsen pools in the inn where the host will schedule for guests to enjoy privately. Within 10 minutes walk to Kinrin lake and a short walk to Yufuin Floral Village. Will definitely consider staying here again next time.

The hotel is small, but located in a very picturesque location! The staff was very friendly and attentive. The room is spacious, with an outdoor onsen and two baths at your disposal – they become private when in use, so you won't be disturbed. Near the hotel is a wonderful bakery called Grand'ma and a coffee shop called Grand'pa – I recommend checking them out.

The hostel was very nice and had a cozy charm to it. I also met some very nice people there. There is an Onsen in the hostel, and you can get a satisfying breakfast for around 800 Yen. The owner was very kind and offers evening walks (which I highly recommend) and a ride to the station in the morning. The only downside is that it's an around 30 minutes walk uphill from Floral Village, but the view from there is worth it. All in all I highly recommend it!

The hotel's location is quite far from the station, about a 25-minute walk. However, they do offer pick-up and drop-off service from the station, which we didn't arrange beforehand. Walking along the road for a stretch was a bit tough. On the upside, the surroundings of the hotel are very quiet. The room style is a bit old-fashioned but spacious. The evening onsen was great, I had it all to myself. Dinner was plentiful, but breakfast was just okay, though the dining environment was pleasant. The hotel service was decent, and the owner was quite understanding. However, the front desk staff wasn't very friendly; they wouldn't let us check in even ten minutes early. Eventually, the owner approved an early check-in. It's a nice touch that they offer a free shuttle service to the train station when you check out.

Overall, very satisfied! Location: It's about a 7-minute drive from the station, but the hotel offers a shuttle service during afternoon check-in and morning check-out, so you basically don't need to take a taxi. Try to explore the town and buy supplies before entering the hotel, otherwise it might be inconvenient to go out on your own. Environment: The hotel was clean, no stains. The environment outside the room was serene; you could occasionally hear cicadas and frogs. A dragonfly even came to greet me while I was soaking in the hot spring. It felt like being surrounded by nature, very comfortable, but surprisingly, there weren't any mosquitoes! Service: From the moment I boarded the shuttle, I didn't need to carry my luggage. The staff were friendly and smiling throughout, even joking around when explaining how to eat. Excellent service! Hotel Facilities: There doesn't seem to be a public hot spring, but the private hot spring is more than enough! Food: For dinner, I chose sukiyaki. The beef was tender and marbled with fat, but surprisingly, it tasted quite refreshing and didn't get greasy quickly (although it did get greasy towards the end, haha). Breakfast was also quite good; I especially loved the mentaiko with rice. I'll definitely come back next time!

We checked in on 15 Jan, 2026 and planned to stay at the hotel for a nite. When we arrived the railway station , we walked around for a while and got a taxi outside the railway station to the hotel without paying the fare. Probably the hotel had arranged with the taxi drivers in that area that they will pay the fare directly. The check-in procedure is easy and comfy. 2 staff lead us to our room 小樓球。It’s a very nice room with 2 private onsen. The spring water is nice and made our skin very smooth. The hotel had arranged enough drinks for us, 3 alcoholic and 3 nonalcoholic. We had our dinner at ard 7pm. The presentation of the good is very good & eye catching. However, the quality of the sashimi was not very fresh. Taste of the tuna was a bit fishy and it’s wet and found bloody water after picked it up from the dish😓. I don’t eat beef and the hotel changed the 5 pcs of wagu to 3pcs of eel which didn’t taste very well. Not sure whether they grill it or not. Also they changed the beef that served with rice to miso and I didn’t think it’s fair enough. The breakfast on the next morning was up to standard. Bread was fresh and hot. Egg and sausage were quite good. Overall, service is good but the standard of dinner made me disappointed as I had informed the hotel at least one week before check-in and I think they have ample of time to adjust the menu for me. I’ve been to some other hotspring hotels with same request of not eating beef. They had changed my menu to chicken, pork or seafood like fish or shrimp and provide the equivalent size of meat for replacement.

MMinanekoThis onsen hotel exceeded my expectations – it was truly excellent! First off, every room has its own private onsen, offering complete privacy, so you can enjoy a hot spring bath anytime you like! The hotel environment is beautiful, perfect for taking photos. We were lucky enough to encounter snow, which was the icing on the cake! What's more, the room was fully equipped and impeccably clean! Since we visited in winter, it was incredibly thoughtful that there were heaters everywhere, even in the bathroom. We booked the 'one night, two meals' package, and the food was delicious! The dishes were very unique, and you could really feel the restaurant's dedication. Extremely satisfied! The staff were excellent – friendly and approachable, making me feel right at home. Regarding transportation, we originally planned to drive, but canceled our car rental due to the weather. We took the train to Yufu Eki, pre-booked the shuttle with the hotel, and arrived in about 10 minutes! Overall, this is a highly recommended gem of a hotel! I'll definitely be back!

凌凌漆Here's a review of my stay: 1. **Location and Amenities: A Quiet Corner with Easy Access** The hotel is conveniently located, about a 7 to 10-minute walk from JR Yufuin Station, making it easy to find while also being away from the busiest commercial areas. Right next door is a Lawson convenience store, and there's a supermarket nearby, which is super handy for anyone who likes to grab snacks and drinks in the evening. 2. **Hot Spring Facilities: Highly Private ”Kashikiri” Experience** This is truly the highlight of the inn! There are 5 private family hot springs (private baths), including both indoor and outdoor options. No reservations are needed; you just check if the light at the entrance is off, and if so, it's free to use. **Tech-Savvy Management:** Guests can scan a QR code with their phone to instantly check the real-time availability of each private bath, saving you a wasted trip. **A Small Tip:** If you're staying in winter, the path to the outdoor baths and some outdoor showering areas can feel quite cold. If you're sensitive to cold, I recommend prioritizing private baths #1-3, which are indoors. 3. **Dining Experience: A Hearty Yakiniku Feast** We opted for the half-board plan, and dinner was enjoyed at a partner yakiniku restaurant. The wagyu beef was excellent quality and incredibly generous in portion. There was even a bonus offer of unlimited alcoholic beverages and plum wine, making it fantastic value for money. The Japanese-style breakfast the next day was also very filling, providing a great start to our day. 4. **Unique Atmosphere: A Paradise for Animal Lovers** The inn has very gentle cats and dogs living on the premises. If you're lucky, the resident cat manager might even appear in common areas or even come by your room for a patrol. For animal-loving travelers, this sense of warmth and comfort is something other hotels simply can't replicate. 5. **Accommodation Details and Recommendations** **Room Space:** The new wing rooms are spacious, blending modern comfort with traditional Japanese aesthetics.

KKa YanA hot spring hotel with one night and two meals. It is very convenient to have a private hot spring in the room. The public bath is relatively small, but not crowded. There was no one there when I went there that morning, and I enjoyed the outdoor hot spring very comfortably. The room is in traditional Japanese style, very comfortable and hygienic. The staff does not speak English very well, but they will try their best to communicate with guests through mobile phone translation and other methods, so there is basically no problem. The food was prepared carefully, but the dinner was not to my taste, but the breakfast was a surprise. There were free popsicles, hot spring eggs and beer. The location is far from the station, 20 minutes walk, but people usually go to Yufuin to visit Yunotsubo Street. If you walk from Yunotsubo Street, it is still okay to walk there in 10 minutes. The check-out time is 12 o'clock, which is good. After breakfast in the morning, you can go back to the room and enjoy the hot spring time in the morning before leaving. Overall, it was a very satisfactory accommodation experience. I enjoyed the hot springs and will consider staying here again next time I visit Yufuin.

GGuest UserThis hotel is nestled in the mountains, featuring terraced rice fields, which makes for a very relaxing stay. The rooms are spacious and well-equipped; we chose a room type with an indoor onsen bath. The half-board (dinner and breakfast) meals were also good, and I recommend the Japanese-style breakfast. The baths include both indoor and outdoor options, and overall, everything was very comfortable. The only downside was that when we checked in at 4 PM, we were told that the shuttle service for the next day was fully booked, and we'd have to pay for a taxi ourselves (even though there were empty vehicles available). Despite this, I would still highly recommend Hoshino Resorts KAI Yufuin for an experience.
