I slept incredibly well! The first night I had a stiff neck, but then I learned the trick for sleeping comfortably: make sure your entire shoulder is on the pillow. After that, I slept like a baby. The bathroom even had lotion for both hands and body, which was a fantastic touch! The laundry room's washer/dryer was super convenient; you could do both wash and dry together or separately. The balcony view was absolutely stunning, and the breakfast was delicious and thoughtfully prepared. The hotel staff provided excellent service. This is definitely a hotel I'd love to visit again!
On the sandy shores of Okinawa, Japans island paradise, lies a hotel that is perfectly in tune with its tropical environment. Best Western Okinawa Onna Beach is true resort paradise - a low-rise property nestled on a pure white sandy beach, overlooking the azure waters of the bay.
The soft sand and shallow sea make this an ideal setting for families, as children can safely frolic in the calm waters. All guest rooms feature private balconies that overlook the bay, while free Wi-Fi allows guests to instantly share their stunning photos via social media.
Every aspect of the resort takes full advantage of the stunning sea views, with the light, bright restaurant featuring large windows overlooking the coast.
For the quintessential tropical island getaway, Best Western Okinawa Onna Beach is a great choice for couples and families.

Everything was perfect, staff was kind and helpfull, food was very good for both breakfast and dinner, the location is amazing and we were often completly alone on their private beach (as it might've been too cold for the locals). Lots of nice and cozy restaurants arpund the hotel as well, you can get there by ”airport bus limousine”, when you're not acustomedto.how it works it looks a little scary but just go to the counter when you arrive to the airport and they'll help you out! Just know that you're in zone B Onna Village, make sure to vheck the time of departure online beforehand as you might need to sleep a noght in Naha if you arrive too late. Theres also a lot of activities nearby, I greatly recommend the snorkling/scooba diving.

Large resort with everything you need. Building and rooms are dated f(it was built in the ‘90’s) so don’t expect card keys or USB ports. However, the rooms are spacious and clean, service is attentive, and the facility was constructed with attention to detail. For example, the bathroom mirror is heated, balcony rails are wide and flat with a surface (perfect for placing a beer while taking in the view) instead of tubular, and there are laundry machines and beer vending machines on each floor. I’d recommend and stay here again.

The room condition and facilities were really great! You could even see the ocean from the terrace, haha. However, the downside is that there are no restaurants or convenience stores within walking distance, so you have to drive out. But there's a barbecue area, and a mini convenience store on the first floor, so you can grab snacks at the hotel. Anyway, it's a quiet and comfortable place.

My stay in Okinawa was very enjoyable! I chose this place because it was close to the dive shop. Although it rained for a few days, the location was remote and public transportation was inconvenient, it didn’t affect my journey. The hotel is fully equipped, the environment is clean, the overall feeling of home, next to the beach, the price is very high. I chose the sea view room, if the weather is good, I will definitely see a good view.
The boss's opening at the vegetarian cafe next to it is not long, other restaurants and convenience stores need to walk to the Readguchi Bus Terminal, but I have a great time relaxing here. The area is safe and girls traveling alone can feel at ease. I am very satisfied with this stay and have the opportunity to come back later.

My boyfriend and I recently stayed at the Ocean Resort PMC. The location is convenient if you have diving plans, with the diving drop-off point right next to the hotel. There's also a surf and diving shop and school below where you can ask about lessons and equipment. Although we had already booked our diving elsewhere, it was just an 8-minute drive away, and they even drove us back to the hotel, which was a bit amusing.
Overall, the stay was fair, but there are a few things to note. After 11 AM, the elevator is not available, and the parking lot is about a 10-minute walk from the hotel. However, there's a 24/7 convenience store just across the street, which is very handy. The ground floor has a washing machine that all guests can use. After 11 PM, you have to use the stairs, which can be a bit scary as there's no light. The hotel has a kitchen, but it lacks basic utensils.
For the price, I felt like I could have picked somewhere better, but the location and amenities were decent enough for our needs.

The hotel's sea view is incredibly therapeutic, and staying here during the summer vacation allows you to enjoy small fireworks displays from the balcony, which is a real mood booster. There are also many restaurants nearby; remember to book in advance. You can even go ziplining at the nearby Sheraton hotel.
The room is well-equipped with cooking utensils and tableware, so you can buy ingredients in advance and prepare your own meals, which is very pleasant and comfortable. With two beds and two futons, a family of four can stay here without any problem. The front desk has Chinese-speaking staff, and check-in can also be smoothly handled with a translator. You can also book the airport shuttle bus (the Rejimoku bus will pick you up at Building 1).
The only downside was not receiving the voucher for free housekeeping.

We had wonderful time in Okinawa during our stay at Moon Beach Resort. Moon Beach is located in Onna, we found it to be a compromise between airport accessibility (thanks to toll speed highway) and oceanarium trips. Hotel itself isn’t new, but it is very well maintained and I personally think its architecture is timeless. Atriums are gorgeous, sea view and access is great. Food is good and plenty on the display, if I were to pick a favourite, those would be egg benedict for breakfast and crab phalange for lunch. Receptionists are helpful, they showed us a rapid bus schedule for 1 hour access to Naha and back, also ordered us a taxi when we asked. Overall cost of additional activities was satisfactory, we went for snorkelling. Downsides is beach working hours — 9 am to 5 pm. For us northerners UV at 9 am is pretty strong, they should open the beach and give beach towels at least an hour earlier.

The exterior of the hotel is a bit old, but the interior is relatively new and renovated. The room is large, with a terrace, and the toilet is also very spacious. There is a bathtub (made of bricks), which is comfortable for bathing. Breakfast is available individually for about 60 Hong Kong dollars. It is a traditional Japanese meal. (Personally, I think it’s very salty). It’s a bar at night and has a bit of an atmosphere. There are several diving shops about 200 meters away from the hotel. It is very convenient to go snorkeling or deep diving in the Blue Cave. As for restaurants, there are more choices about 400 meters away. The hotel owner is very friendly and even called a taxi for us.

Amazing
AAnonymous UserFirst impression of the lobby is grand yet intimate. They escort you to a table and bring a welcome drink while checking you in. The rooms are large with a wonderful view. The rooms look just like the photos. Breakfasts are great, they make Eggs Benedict every morning. One day there was mango juice. Green smoothie every day. You can also get soba noodles cooked. You can even exchange breakfast for lunch at the hotel next door, and use their larger pools there. The room description mentioned a sea view, but on the third floor, a triangular roof slightly obstructs it, though the view is still incredible.
XXiaoyadaochukankanI come to Okinawa almost every winter for vacation and have stayed at many ocean-view hotels here. Halekulani Okinawa stands out for both its significant strengths and weaknesses.
**Pros:**
(1) As a newly built hotel, the facilities are much newer than other hotels. The rooms even have smart tablets to conveniently book restaurants and check out various amenities.
(2) Although the restaurant prices are noticeably higher than other hotels, the quality of both the buffet and à la carte restaurants, and even room service, is excellent and worth the price.
(3) The service is very good. If you're taking public transportation when checking out, they'll even provide a car to take you to the station.
(4) If you skip breakfast, you can change it to lunch, which is convenient for those who like to sleep in.
**Cons:**
This seems to be a common issue with Western hotel brands. Halekulani Okinawa, along with two other Hilton hotels here, shares the following problems. I believe this might stem from differences in Western brands' operational philosophies. However, for a hotel like Halekulani, which costs more than double other ocean-view hotels, these shortcomings are quite unacceptable.
(1) The hotel lacks a well-stocked convenience store and souvenir shop. Other Japanese-owned ocean-view resort hotels usually have one or two such stores with a wide variety of items. Here, there's only one shop selling some Halekulani branded merchandise and a very limited selection of ”eco-friendly, natural” snacks, with hardly any beverages. If you want something to eat, you have to walk a few hundred meters outside the hotel to a chain convenience store.
(2) The mini-bar drinks in the room are chargeable, and the prices are 4-5 times higher than at outside convenience stores. Considering this hotel is 2-3 times more expensive than others, and many other hotels often offer free mini-bars, this difference is quite significant. The main issue is the lack of an internal convenience store, forcing guests to frequently go out to a convenience store a few hundred meters away for a wider selection of drinks and snacks. Not to mention, it's truly unpleasant to go out when it's rainy or windy. For someone like me who enjoys staying at a comfortable and convenient hotel for several days or even a week, it's hard to stay long if a resort can't meet all my needs in one place.
(3) The price for the self-service laundry and dryer (700/800 JPY) is also about three times higher than at other local ocean-view hotels (200/300 JPY).
While the hotel's price is more than double that of others, the convenience and comfort aren't significantly higher (aside from newer facilities). Coupled with a mini-bar and self-service laundry that are several times more expensive, and the need to go outside to buy necessities due to the lack of an on-site convenience store, it feels like they're trying too hard to squeeze every penny. It's more suitable for a short, 'check-the-box' experience rather than a prolonged, relaxing stay. The quality of the seawater is also just average compared to hotels in Onna Village and Cape Zanpa.
PPhilTAmazing stay with a great view, quality hotel room, welcoming and attentive staff. I had some special requests which they helped with during my staff. Location is very private and quiet but also come with the downside of being a bit further away from stores or restaurants. Would love to visit again in the future.
YYan ReevesWe had spent 4 nights at the hotel during the Golden Week which might have influenced the perception of service, but not dramatically.
Among the advantages of the hotel are: nice spacious rooms (ours had a stunning sea view); generally good location with beautiful nature and access to the beaches where you could actually swim (not a given on the island) - at least until the tide goes too low; reasonably good food across the restaurants with rather friendly prices; stylish bar with quality drinks.
Among the disadvantages are: very non-Japanese service (generally not very helpful, with low penetration of English among the staff) and lack of attention to detail that could make the resort actually very nice - again, not very typical case for Japan.
A few pieces of advice to the management:
1. Bring the option of in-room breakfast. If a guest is sick and can’t go down, it’s impossible to order in-room breakfast on the day, while rooms service opens at 11:30. Same frustration goes to the coffee stall downstairs that doesn’t serve coffee during earlier breakfast hours
2. Consider equipping rooms with coffee machines and contemporary electronics - low costs to take, yet massive disadvantage for the 5* status for not having them
3. Pay more attention to room service: we spent 48h without shampoo and shower gel. Our glasses were washed occasionally. New bottles of drinking water arrived only once.
4. Fix the beach! The amenities there look like a poor community beach area, especially those shameful umbrellas. You have reasonable amenities at the pool - why not spreading them to the beach areas to make them feel more like a resort rather than public beaches that no one gave any care?
5. Gym and SPA amenities could use a bit of refreshment. I won’t mention SPA service itself which might be a result of poor luck with the specific technician
6. Empty mini bar equals lost revenue. You could easily cover the modifications above through adding more options for people to enjoy drinks at their balconies.
What makes staying in Japan truly special - genuine care and attention to every detail - was completely missing over our stay at this Hyatt. In fact, we consistently had that feeling “this could actually be really nice” and then something would go terribly wrong with the awkward service. The hotel that looks like 5* on pictures leaves a 3* aftertaste at max. I am only writing this because I felt it didn’t have to - those are easy aspects to fix.
TTK—Beware of HIDDEN COSTS for the indoor swimming pool, gym, onsen, and even the seats at the adult outdoor swimming pool. To me, this is pure robbery. I have never experienced this before in my life, even at other hotels in Japan. I understand there are sometimes fees for an onsen, but hotels normally give a discount or allow guests to use it once for free. This is why I gave 1 to amenities.
There are two options for breakfast: Japanese or International. The Japanese breakfast was served in a bento box (one per person, with unlimited refills on rice and soup), but the fish was already a bit cold. I know they don’t want to keep their customers waiting, but there should be a way to keep the food warm. My advice is to always go with the international buffet unless you prefer to sit somewhere with fewer people.
The room was great, soundproof, and well-equipped with everything you need, including a medium-sized bathtub. However, the view from my room was blocked by the pool and trees (this wouldn't be an issue if you are above the 5th or 6th floor). The hotel indeed looked pretty, but I found their beaches to be kind of mid compared to what I saw while driving around Okinawa.
WWENLIMHad the pleasure of staying at this property for four nights and was impressed by the overall quality of the experience. The hotel’s central location in Onna Okinawa is an advantage, providing easy access to shopping, dining, and cultural attractions. It serves as an excellent base for leisure travelers if you self drive.
The room was spacious, modern, and thoughtfully equipped with a kitchen and washing machine, making it particularly convenient for longer stays. The layout was comfortable and functional, offering both relaxation and practicality.
Breakfast was a highlight of the stay. The buffet spread was wide. The system of collecting a queue number before lining up was efficient and ensured a smooth dining experience.
Evenings were made memorable by the hotel’s stunning sunset views. Watching the sky transition into vibrant hues from the property was a truly special experience that added to the charm of the stay.
Overall, the hotel delivered on all fronts: location, comfort, amenities, and atmosphere. I would not hesitate to return and will certainly choose this property again on my next visit to Okinawa.
CcjessieThe hotel is new and clean overall. The breakfast is Chinese style, with a wide selection and decent taste. The jacuzzi in the room is great, and bath salts are readily available in the lobby. The only downside is that the hotel doesn't have any other facilities besides the swimming pool. It cost over 2,000 yuan per night when I booked, which is on the expensive side.
DDuoerbamaI still vividly remember their 30th-anniversary celebration. Other than the outdated facilities, everything else was impeccable, especially the Executive Lounge – it was absolutely perfect! Great views, excellent food, and an even better atmosphere. I really hope the hotel renovates its facilities soon; it would be a shame to waste such a prime location!
VVictorL^^Very good location located in a hilly area. Although the interior of the hotel looks aged, but it is very clean. The exterior and pool of the hotel is in great condition. The facilities are quite complete, staffs were helpful. We had a good stay.
CC cowThe service was great! Every corner of the hotel room AND the bath area are squeakly clean. I could say that the bath area was even cleaner than most of people houses. The shower head power was incredibly strong, I could wash my hair 2x faster than normal showers! Parking area was huge and convenient. The bedroom was super cozy, the beds were comfy too but if you need extra spaces for maybe your family, theres extra futon for you to use (although you have to ask the counter and pay). Overall I really enjoyed staying over. I was suprised during my stay, there were barely any customers which made my bathing experience extra enjoyable.
