travelswithjessWe are so surprised by the quality and service of this hotel, as we expected older facilities etc.
The location is super convenient - directly above JR. We drove so we parked downstairs which we can use multiple times a day.
Very accessible to shops and restaurants - can't think of a better location than this one.
In terms of service - staff speak good English and very friendly and approachable. We had a do not disturb sign on during cleaning hours but instead of like any other hotel to just skip your room until requested, they put a bag of supplies outside our room with towels, robes, toilet paper, amenities refreshers, drinking water and everything else they supply in our room, which was absolutely fantastic.
I am truly amazed and would stay at this hotel again if I visit Kokura and will recommend others too.
Highly recommend that you book superior rooms.
Thank you staff for this wonderful experience!!

Excellent value for money! Fukuoka was too expensive on Saturday, and we were planning to go to Karato Market anyway, so we decided to stay here for a night. It saved us ¥1000 on accommodation! In the evening, we went up Mount Sarakura to see the night view. Shin-Shin Ramen was also on our must-try list. It seems to be super popular in Fukuoka, but the taste was just okay. Definitely recommend this hotel for staying in Kokura!

Guest UserThe Rihga Royal Hotel Kokura is my top choice for any trip to Kitakyushu! The elevated walkway directly connects to the JR Kokura Shinkansen entrance, making transfers to and from Fukuoka and Beppu incredibly convenient, and you don't have to worry about getting wet on rainy days.
Compared to most hotels in Japan, the rooms here are exceptionally spacious. The floor-to-ceiling windows on higher floors offer expansive views, and watching the Kitakyushu city nightscape in the evening is truly therapeutic. The rooms are clean and comfortable, with soft and quiet bedding.
The hotel offers a wide range of dining options, and the buffet breakfast is comprehensive, featuring many Kyushu-specific flavors. The staff are polite and attentive, and the overall ambiance is elegant and grand. It's perfect for both business and leisure travelers. I'll definitely choose this hotel again next time I visit Kitakyushu.

某仁Friend 史I stayed there on the 11th floor for two days, from Thursday to Saturday. Noise wasn't a problem at all. Overall, the hotel was okay, except for a dirty coverlet with a blood stain and some dirt. I asked the front desk to help with it, and they fixed the issue. The staff were friendly and helpful.
Breakfast and dinner were included for free, but I didn't eat there, so I can't comment on the food. The dining area was clean and tidy. In the room, the bed was a good size—not small—and there was a standard desk and chair, which worked well for me. Considering the price and the location—just a 5-10 minute walk to the train station—the hotel was pretty decent.

This hotel locates near by the Kokura train station makes it one of the most convenient hotel I have ever lived.
Unfortunately I could only reserve a smoking room, but the smell was not too strong to clear out by some splash. I would suggest the manager to inform smoking customers not to smoke in the bathroom, in order to avoid the smoke on the shower curtain.
And the services are pretty good provided by kind stuff with multiple language skills. There is even a snack and drink corner 24 hours on first floor.
The only deficit of this hotel might be the sound proof of the top floor, 6th floor I lived. The sound could not penetrate through rooms, but there were multiple huge machines on the top of the room running through day and night and generated big noises. During the last night I lived, one of the noises was similar with the sound of unlocking the door, so I couldn' t sleep well because I felt like somebody was unlocking the door.

Windgun14Although the facility is relatively old, it is located close to Kokura Station and the service is good. If you don't want to take the key with you every time, you can leave it at the front desk and pick it up every time you come back, which is very convenient.

Thomas_ZacThe Hotel is located very close to the Wakamatsu Railway station. The area around the hotel is a very quiet area with few shops around. I arrived the hotel at around 2200 and by then all the shops around was closed. I managed to find a family mart near the station and for dinner i went to Sukiya which I understand is open till 3 AM. The staff was very courteous and the checking in process was seamless. The rooms were small and very similar to other Japanese hotel rooms. The bedding was clean and neat and the linens were nicely tucked in. Since the air conditioning units remote was in Japanese language , had bit of a trouble in getting the AC started. However this was immediately resolved by the staff at the front desk and the AC cooling was very good. The toilet was small and was similar to other Japanese hotels. The supplies in the toilet was nice and adequate.
The Morning breakfast spread was nice with western and Japanese cuisine and the food quality and taste was very good. I will definitely recommend Route Inn to all business travelers travelling to Wakamatsu / Hibiki Nada Area

Guest UserOverall an excellent hotel, uses an automated system for contacting.
to receive service There isn't any receptionist. But the only way to contact the hotel when there is a problem is the phone number. We encountered a problem that we did not receive an e-mail from the hotel regarding the entrance code and check-in method. And this time, roaming was not turned on. Makes you feel uncomfortable enough. But when you call The staff at the other end of the line can speak English and provide good explanations.

Guest UserThough location is a little far but the free shuttle bus to and fro Orio station made is super convenient for an onsen retreat. There's a direct bus from Kitakyushu Airport to Orio station too, which makes it even better. Thankfully, the staff kindly took note of the shuttle reservation request made during booking, otherwise, it would have been very inconvenient to contact them and expensive to get to the resort by other means. They left a note to check the official website for pick-up point but there was no specific information - something that can be improved. The location was found to be BEHIND Maxvalue Shop (see first few photos). The resort is visited by mainly locals so it was helpful to see and ask them for confirmation.
Facilities might a bit old but generally clean so it was okay. The room is nice and comfortable, particularly the view. It was very nice to see the hotel using reusable wares with even a refillable jug to get water from a machine at the shared space. Both sides of the natural onsen is switched between male and female everyday. Supper tantan noodles is great! Breakfast is not bad with both fusion western style and traditional Japanese options. It was a very nice and relaxing time!
