"Comfortable one-night stay at Shinjuku Granbell Hotel — great location and clean, modern rooms. One useful tip for anyone driving: there’s parking available nearby that you can either reserve in advance for around ¥2,000 per night, or just drive in without a reservation and pay by the hour (rates around ¥1,700 for 8 hours at the lot near the hotel). Made it really convenient for our road trip stop before heading north. Would recommend for travelers exploring Shinjuku by car."

"The room was very spacious. There are convenience stores on both sides of the hotel, and a fairly large supermarket just across the street down a small alley, which was very convenient. The Kotobuki Sushi restaurant diagonally opposite the hotel was excellent, definitely worth a try. Shinjuku Gyoen National Garden and Shinjuku Station are both walkable if you have some free time, but getting to the airport is quite inconvenient, requiring a walk and then a subway transfer. I stayed in room 1005, and every night I could hear loud motorcycles, ambulances, or police sirens. The range hood also hummed loudly non-stop. One thing to avoid is the hotel breakfast. For 1980 JPY, the variety was incredibly, unbelievably limited, and it was absolutely awful."

"My stay at KoKo Hotel Shinjuku Yotsuya was excellent! The room was spotless and well-maintained, with all the necessary amenities, making for a very comfortable stay. The hotel's location is superb, just a 3-minute walk to the subway station, allowing for efficient travel to Shinjuku and other parts of Tokyo. Downstairs, along the street, there are plenty of ramen shops, izakayas, and casual eateries, offering a wide variety of dining options for all three meals. A convenience store is also very close by, making it easy to get around and find food. It's definitely my top choice for a trip to Tokyo."

"Great location and view from the room. Unfortunately a room wasn’t clean enough, a lot of unexpected items under the bed. Windows were impossible to open, resulting not enough fresh air. Bed was fine with me, firm is ok. But no soundproofing, noise all night from other guests. There were not enough hooks in the bathroom for 2 people or even for one, I was unsure where to put towels if only one hook available. Stuff was helpful! Overall I don’t think I’d stay again here."

"There's a 7-Eleven nearby, and another one if you turn right out of the main entrance. A few steps further, there's a supermarket where you can browse discounted items. Keep walking and you'll find some restaurants. The train station is about a 12-15 minute walk, and the bus stop is 3-5 minutes away. Check-in is self-service, so you won't have much interaction with staff."

"This was my second stay here. My room faced the stadium and was very quiet. I felt the cleanliness and maintenance weren't quite as good as the room I had last year, but still perfectly fine. The toiletries have been switched to a different brand – it says 'Italian brand' but I didn't recognize it, and personally, I don't think they're as good as the blue-bottled ones from last year. Also, a heads-up: you can only store luggage for same-day pick-up. I had planned to go to Fuji for a night and leave my luggage here, but overnight storage isn't an option. Other than that, no issues."

"The room was great, and there were so many good restaurants nearby. The transportation was super convenient. I really loved it and would definitely stay here again next time. It's so easy to get to Mount Fuji and Disneyland from Shinjuku. Plus, there are several convenience stores and a McDonald's right next door. Loved it!"

"Stayed here for a few nights and honestly quite shiok. Room was very clean and well maintained, typical Japanese standard. Location also very convenient — walking distance to Shinjuku station and plenty of food and convenience stores nearby, so supper no problem. Staff were friendly and service was smooth during check-in and check-out. Amenities were decent, though nothing too fancy, but good enough for a comfortable stay. Overall very solid hotel if you’re planning to stay in Shinjuku. Good balance of price, cleanliness and location. Would stay again next time."

"I’d wanted to stay at this hotel for a long time and loved the idea of a traditional-style hotel right in the heart of Tokyo. The staff were very friendly, and I was happy to get a room on a higher floor as I had requested. The room itself was very small and felt a bit outdated. For this price range, I expected a little more. However, the window — definitely the highlight of the room — offered an incredible view of the city. The onsen was quite small, but wow. Being able to relax in an outdoor bath right in the center of Tokyo while looking out at the city was an amazing experience. The breakfast was also very good."

"Room is very clean and tidy, a bit small but typical for tokyo. Towels were changed everyday or left outside the room if you opt out of cleaning for the day. Location is perfect, away from the noise and crowds in Shinjuku but still walking distance. Automated check-in kiosks and free toiletries and other amenities at the lobby. The hotel also had laundry facilities and offered breakfast but I didn’t get to try those. The only thing I would change are the pillows, they are a lot harder than most hotels and while I still had a good sleep, I do prefer something a bit softer. Overall, would definitely stay again."
