Amazing
HHiro771024This hotel is super convenient, just a 5-minute walk from Motomachi Station on the JR line in central Kobe. They even have a natural hot spring bath, free ice cream, Yakult, and ramen for a late-night snack! However, because it's so popular and there are a lot of guests, you often have to queue for breakfast. On a few days, if we went a bit later, there were no seats left, and we missed out on breakfast entirely.

GGuest UserThe hotel's location is absolutely fantastic, right in Sannomiya. It's just a short walk to Sannomiya Station, the airport bus, and Daimaru department store. Directly across from the hotel is a 24-hour Don Quijote, spanning four floors – I always end up buying so much there! They also offer late-night snacks. While the room isn't huge, the separate wet and dry areas in the bathroom are a rare and welcome feature for a Japanese hotel.

ちなみStaying in Kobe for a night, I booked this hotel after reading reviews that it's close to Sannomiya Station and relatively new. It was super convenient coming from Kansai Airport; I took the airport bus directly to the Sannomiya bus terminal, and after getting off, it was less than a 10-minute walk with Google Maps. Getting to JR Sannomiya Station from the hotel takes a maximum of 5 minutes, and the Hanshin Line is less than 10 minutes away – both are very close! There are plenty of dining options downstairs, and a 7-Eleven right next door. If you walk out the main hotel entrance and turn left, there's a cute dessert shop called Dorsia about five minutes away. Plus, it's not far from the Sannomiya shopping district, so you can easily walk there. I forgot to take pictures of the room, but in a double room, there was no problem opening a 26-inch suitcase.

GGuest UserOverall, our stay was good, especially the location. The room is a bit old but still well maintained. However, we were not happy with one aspect of the service. A staff member (possibly a manager or senior from the F&B team) was not very professional and came across as quite rude. He physically blocked us from entering the breakfast area without listening to our explanation. We clearly mentioned that our friend was already inside and had a table, and we were just trying to confirm the table number. However, he insisted we go to Level 1 for breakfast and did not allow us to explain further. We had to go back and forth between the lift, trying to contact our friend, which was quite frustrating. Only after we showed him a photo did he finally allow us to enter. What surprised us most was that the restaurant was actually quite empty, with many available tables. We don’t understand why we were told it was full and asked to go elsewhere. We hope the hotel can improve staff communication and professionalism to avoid similar situations in the future.

AAnonymous UserNot sure what has happened to Japan standard in the past couple of years but had called the hotel to confirm that linens are scent free (standard in Japan before) and was told yes. Unfortunately they are not, this new laundry detergent that is slowly spreading throughout Japan is absolutely horrible causing all sorts of allergic reactions (not only to me.) I start having rashes, compromised breathing, and inflammation issues. If it’s the same detergent used back in America, then it might be eco-friendly, but definitely not human friendly. I truly hope that Japan goes back to the way it was before the introduction of some western products filled with harmful chemicals to humans. It is not because you don’t react to it that it is not harming your body, it’s only a question of time and when it does, you won’t know why and there is no turning back. Take it from an Asian American born who was the biggest fan of American marketed products. We do have good products like ECOLAB, which is both, sustainable for the environment without compromising human health. Maybe laundry company should look into that company or simply return to Japanese products before. Good thing thing their pyjama are still scent free so I had to wrap the bed and cover with their pyjama to get through the night.

GGuest UserIt's a bit of a walk from the station. The famous internet-famous church cafe is just a three-minute walk behind it. There's a Matsuya downstairs, perfect for breakfast. I stayed in a double room by myself and had plenty of space to open my suitcase. All the essential amenities were there, and the lighting was adjustable. I thought the service was great; the front desk always greeted me when I came and went.

TTuxiandarenThe hotel management is excellent, and the service is superb. Special shoutout to the concierge team! They handled luggage storage, weighing, and guided us with the airport shuttle baggage recording flawlessly. ❤️❤️ The Kansai Airport shuttle offers direct service (though infrequent). Alternatively, you can take a bus to Sannomiya, which is just one subway stop or a 1600 JPY taxi ride from the hotel. The hotel lobby is on the fourth floor. Take the escalator down on the north side, and you'll be on the second floor of JR Shin-Kobe Station. The first floor hosts express bus stations for Arima Onsen, Mount Rokko, and Tokushima, as well as the city sightseeing buses (the 230-yen elongated bus and the 300-yen retro trolley) which go directly to Kobe Port Tower, IOIO, and vintage trend stores. On the west side, the elevator on the first floor leads to Nunobiki Herb Gardens and Kitano Ijinkan. B3 has a large supermarket, a 100-yen shop, and the Shin-Kobe subway station. Even though the hotel shows its age, it's well-maintained. I stayed on the 23rd floor this time, and the room was spacious. 😓 During Typhoon Rosing (6.2), the hotel creaked all night, which was a bit scary. 😂 Breakfast on the fourth floor is a rich buffet with many Kobe-exclusive delicacies, and it's absolutely delicious. You can also opt for a Japanese set meal on the fifth floor.

GGuest UserFood quality and choices are fantastic. Staff service is very good and can communicate well in English. One minor drawback is that the spa pool is too small for too many hotel guests. I am disappointed that there is no spa pool outdoor.

GGuest UserThe room size is just right, comfortable and convenient for one person. The location is excellent, very close to Sannomiya Station and Mint. Although the lobby is very basic and has an old hotel feel, I'm not staying in the lobby anyway, so it doesn't matter! I'll definitely come back next time.
