Hotels near Jongno-3ga Station in Seoul

This hotel has 3 main advantages: 1. Excellent team of administrators, always ready to help 2. Location perfect: historic center of Insadon, near 3 metro stations, one literally opposite the hotel 2. Soft mattress, pillows and blankets. Ideal location to Bunchon khanok Village 15 minutes walk, to Mendon 20, all nearby. I will definitely stop again

The hotel is right near Exit 7 of Euljiro 3-ga Station. You go down a narrow street and you'll see the building. Take the elevator to the 5th floor, and the front desk is right there. When I checked in, an older gentleman explained everything in Japanese. The room was small, but since I was alone, it wasn't an issue. The shower and toilet are in the same space, which was a bit inconvenient when showering. It was either scalding hot or freezing cold, and once I turned it off, only cold water came out, so it was quite chilly. The TV didn't work, and there was no AC, but there was a heater. There was only one blanket, so it was incredibly cold in winter. The lady at the front desk didn't speak Japanese, so we used a translation app for English and Korean, but she was very kind and helpful.

The hotel is a quick 5-minute walk from the Novotel Ambassador Seoul Dongdaemun stop, which is serviced by Airport Bus 6001. Dongdaemun subway station is also just about a 10-minute walk away. Its location is truly excellent, right next to Dongdaemun Design Plaza (DDP), numerous department stores, and wholesale fashion markets. They don't provide toiletries, but that wasn't a problem for me as I usually bring my own. The soundproofing was decent, and the room was kept very clean. While the room itself wasn't large (I even chose a windowless one), it could feel a bit tight if you have a lot of shopping. Overall, I definitely recommend this place.

The hotel was very clean and the location was good. However, the hotel facilities are [BLANK - The original text is incomplete here, suggesting a negative adjective is missing, e.g., 'terrible', 'outdated', 'poor']. We used the self-service machine for check-in, but to even get to the machine, you need a room key. Then, it asked for a reservation number, but I couldn't find the correct one; it was completely different from what Ctrip sent in the email. This whole process made us struggle in the rain for over half an hour late at night. When we finally contacted the self-service machine's customer service, the agent was very impatient. Then, when trying to retrieve the key, two key cards got stuck in the same slot and wouldn't come out. The customer service agent again complained impatiently. Honestly, the check-in experience at this hotel was just too much hassle.

Great stay! We had a room on the 10th floor with an incredible view — definitely a highlight. The room was cleaned daily and towels were changed every day, which we really appreciated. The location is very convenient, about a 10-minute walk to the main market, and Metro Line 1 connects you easily to the rest of the city. The service was good, and the front desk staff spoke English. For the price we paid, I recommend it 10000%!

The owner is an incredibly, incredibly, incredibly wonderful person! First, let's talk about the location: It's super easy to find. The bus goes directly to Dongdaemun Park, and you can see the hotel building as soon as you get off. The transportation is so convenient, you could find it with your eyes closed! Whether you speak Korean or not, traveling alone or with a companion, everyone will find it effortlessly! Next, let's talk about the environment: The room is absolutely spotless!!! The owner is a man, but he's incredibly meticulous. The decor is very cozy and warm. Lying in bed, you truly feel a sense of happiness. In Dongdaemun, for this price, the quality of the accommodation speaks for itself. Finally, about the owner: This is my first time writing such a long review on Trip.com, and I'm genuinely touched this time. From the night before I checked in, I added the owner on WeChat. From giving detailed transportation directions (both bus and subway) to the hotel's location, everything was explained perfectly. He sent a map of the hotel's location and videos guiding me with nearby landmarks. The owner works very hard; he's Chinese~ To keep prices low, he doesn't hire staff to clean the rooms; he does it all himself. I came during Christmas, and the owner even gave me a small gift. He's very enthusiastic. Even when I called him late at night for help, he never turned me down π_π This place is truly excellent. I highly, highly recommend it!

Hotel is in a small street not far from Jongno-3-ga station (about 5 mins walk from subway station). You can walk to Iksondong or Seosullagil. From Incheon Airport you can take airport bus no.6002 to Jongno-3-ga station and walk to hotel. The hotel staff is very kind and always ready to help. We can leave our luggages for 1 night when we traveled out of Seoul. The room is same with the advertised photo but a bit worn out. But when compare with the price, the room is spacious and good value.

Easy to access location. It is not far from subway station. There are instant noodles, coffee, cereal, milk and bread available. There is 7-eleven nearby which is quite convenient. Point is deducted because there is no customer service available 24/7 and some staffs cannot communicate fluently in English. The air-conditioner in my room was out of order at night time. After I walked down to call the staff who was working remotely. He acknowledged the problem and told me to wait as he would call manager. Then I walked back to my room and waited...and nobody showed up. So I slept without air-conditioner that night 😓😓.

Pros: - The manager was nice - Hotel was clean and location is nice - Hot spring is as good as advertised Cons: - We arrived at 7am, no staff was present in the counter and we used the Kiosk machine to virtually contact a staff because we only wanted to drop our bag (likely outsourced as we heard there was customer service like conversation and keyboards in the background). We were told to either drop our luggage next to the kiosk machine or we could wait until 9am as the manager will be back at 9. We weren't aware there was office of a spa hotel so we went out for a coffee and came back at around 8:50 in the morning and waited until 9:10. We called again and the lady said the manager will be back at 10am. We wanna make sure if there was staff actually coming but the kiosk cut our line and never picked up our call again. We had no choice but to wait and at last we waited till 9:45 (almost a 3 hour wait) and finally we could drop our bag. If there was office hour of the hotel it should be clearly stated for bad drop and available reception office hour. When we checked out, we would like to keep our bags and the female staff (not the friendly manager mentioned in the pros) was rather rude and told us we could only leave our bag here until 4pm, and told us. in Korea you can only keep your bag until 4. I wasn't sure if it is true but it was different to my previous experience in other Korean hotel. Overall I would say the hotel was nice, certainly not spacious but it was clean and tidy. Good environment overall I would say. It was however not an enjoyable experience because of the staff and services provided. Be reminded to check their office hours when planning your trip.

[Crying emoji] Hotels really hiked up their prices for the May Day holiday. I wanted to stay somewhere close to Myeongdong, but also cheap and clean. I blindly booked this place on Trip.com, 4 nights for over 2400 RMB. It opened in '26, so there weren't many reviews yet. [Good luck emoji] Today's my first day checking in, and the process was smooth. Before arrival, they email you your room number and a QR code for 24-hour self-check-in. The front desk guy was really nice. The guesthouse is located above a shopping area, very close to the Airport Limousine bus 6002 (get off at Jongno 2-ga) and also very close to the subway. Downstairs, there are Olive Young and CU convenience stores, which is super convenient. The room is well-equipped, though a bit small. It has slippers and a hairdryer. There's a hot/cold water dispenser and a coffee machine in the hallway. They also offer free umbrella rentals. I'll stop here for now and update as I stay. —Second Edit— Today's check-out day, and my overall impression is that the location is really convenient. Myeongdong isn't far to walk. Housekeeping was a bit so-so. If you hang the 'make up my room' sign, they'll tidy up, change towels and toiletries, make the bed, refill water, and empty the trash. However, they don't clean the floors or remove hair from the bathroom. After 9 PM, it's self-service. If you lose your room card, you can get a new one from the self-service machine. Check-out is also self-service. Downstairs is Korea Youth Street. Stepping out of the hotel, both left and right, you'll find Olive Young, convenience stores, coffee shops, and tons of restaurants. The side closer to the river leads to Myeongdong and has a large bakery/coffee shop. The other side is Jonggak subway station, and there's another large Olive Young there, plus many coffee chains. There's also a 24-hour Vietnamese pho place, but it felt just okay, probably more suitable if you're rushing to the airport.
