For solo travelers like me, this place is incredibly convenient because of its excellent transportation links. All the main attractions – whether it's the beach, historic houses, restaurants, or various downtown spots – are within walking distance. I stayed here for a week and didn't need a single taxi. In the evenings, I could just stroll out to a bar or find some great food. I even made quite a few friends! The hotel's restaurant is also very good. Overall, the value for money here is exceptional.

Chulia Street is a hub for backpackers and nightlife, so evenings can get noisy. The hotel embraces an Urban Chic concept, deliberately doing away with traditional heavy carpeting—a smart choice in a tropical climate, as it helps reduce mustiness and allergens. Instead, modern hard flooring and bright lighting create a space that feels noticeably fresher and cleaner, both visually and physically, compared to older Peranakan-style hotels in the same price range. Rooms here tend to be on the smaller side. For two guests traveling with large luggage, the space can feel a bit tight. It’s best suited for travelers who spend most of their day বাইরে exploring and simply want a comfortable place to rest at night—think light packers or efficiency-focused “urban explorers.” At roughly RM250 per night, Loop on Leith delivers a boutique-like aesthetic and standardized service at a budget hotel price point. i had a wonderful stay at Bishop Hotel in Georgetown, Penang. the location is absolutely perfect — right in the heart of the UNESCO heritage area, within walking distance to popular attractions, street art, cafes, and amazing local food spots. it made exploring Georgetown so convenient and enjoyable. the room was cozy, clean, and very comfortable. perfect for relaxing after a full day of sightseeing. everything was well-maintained, and the bed was especially comfortable for a good night’s rest. overall, Bishop Hotel is a great choice for anyone looking for a centrally located stay with cozy, comfortable rooms in Georgetown. iwould definitely stay here again!

I had a wonderful stay at the place. It's clean, simple and not busy or noisy. It's so close to the center of Georgetown area and the nightlife without being too centre. The staff, especially Junaid, is very nice and helpful. Thanks. It's worth the money, I'll definitely come here again.

After staying for a few days previously, I came back here again after a trip to Kuala Lumpur, and it was still excellent. They knew we were three people and had already prepared three sets of slippers and toothbrushes in the room, which is commendable. The staff were polite. On the last day, when I wanted to eat Hainanese chicken, the staff recommended a local restaurant to me. I stayed a total of four days this trip. Although it's a small hotel, some of the services were better than the other four and five-star hotels I stayed at during this trip. When I needed help, I got a quick response. I will definitely stay here again next time I visit Penang! 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻

OK, admittedly i didn’t pay too much, and thank God for that, cause it was very small room, with nothing worth writing about. Needing to give people a honest review, this is a budget ‘inn’. Arrived 1am, there was a security guard who took me to the hotel next door which was very nice, to check in. Had to leave a cash deposit. Room bed & pillow were acceptable, but everything else was what I paid for, low standard. For such a little street (corner) there was always many cars and being on 2nd floor, noise kept me awake, cars and people shouting or laughing, even early hours (1,2,3am). Best part, it’s near cafe for morning breakfast ‘Black Kettle’ and the famous Halal friendly restaurant; ‘Kapitan’ - open 23hrs hahaha!!

The room is spacious, and Harun always does an excellent job cleaning it; his service is enthusiastic. Facilities: Good. Service: Very good, though it's a shame they don't allow a slightly later checkout 😂. They require checkout at 11 AM, and by 12 PM, they were already calling us to hurry up and leave. They're quite strict about not allowing late check-outs, probably because rooms are in high demand during peak season. Environment: Very quiet, you can't hear any motorbike noise, and it's convenient for getting to all the attractions.

With the economic price of the hostel, it gets everything including shower (not too hot water), room with air cond. (not very spacious) and a simple free breakfast (only toast with jam/butter & watermelon). Good for backpackers and sth need to know in advance: no shoes allow walking up the stairs to rooms (no lift). Hopefully the cold water section of their water fountain will be fixed, so people can have free cool drinking water without buying bottles. The staffs were nice and got recommended to try mee sotong😄

The room environment was great, very clean, and I was really satisfied. It's definitely worth the price, and very convenient for getting around. It was so good that I extended my stay for many days. I'm very happy with it! There's a food court nearby, which is really close, and it's also near a shopping mall.
