The hotel's location is great, within walking distance to all attractions in the center of Georgetown. The rooms are clean and tidy, but the breakfast selection isn't very rich. The front desk staff could be a bit more enthusiastic. Parking can be a bit tight; if you come back late, you might struggle to find a spot. Otherwise, everything else was quite good.

I just wanna say huge thanks to the fo during cny 17/2 we checkin, forgot her name but shes malay wearing scarf bawal a little bit tembam and cute! She was so kind and patient to arrange our request for birthday deco in our room, she apologized for not noticing my notes on the booking but its okay! Love the ambience of the hotel! Overall it was very nice! Will repeat on staying here next time!

Gotta say, the vibe at this hostel is amazing, exactly what you'd expect from an international hostel. There are activities every night, and everyone is so welcoming. It's perfect for young people and those who love to socialize. Just a friendly tip: it's a good idea to bring a pair of slippers! 😹😹😹 And they have cats! When I was leaving in the morning, a cat seemed to sense I was alone and came over to keep me company.

Some minor issues: smoke smell in the 3rd-floor hallway, noise from upstairs rooms, and slightly weak flooring near the bathroom. Still, it was a decent first-time experience and good value for the price. For tourists, a few things to note: • This is a solid example of a budget hotel—simple, no-frills, and affordable. • Daily housekeeping is not included. If you’d like your room cleaned and tidied during your stay, there’s an optional charge of RM30 per session. • A RM50 deposit is required and refundable on check-out day. • Message the hotel via WhatsApp at least a day before check-out to confirm your departure time. A staff member will inspect the room before returning the deposit. • Cash refunds are only available between 9 am and 12 am daily. Check-out is by 12 noon, and unclaimed cash deposits will not be refunded. • For foreigners, if the deposit is not collected in person, refunds are only processed via Wise or Alipay. • Allow 10–15 minutes for room inspection and deposit return. • The hotel is about 30 minutes from the airport, possibly longer with traffic—so plan ahead, especially if catching a flight.

Hotel location is a plus point, surrounded by many local restaurants and cafe, just the car parking spaces are very limited, not so convenient for the visitor who drives car. No mineral water provided, need to get filtered water outside the room. in front of hotel has many trees and you would have high chance to hit by bird shits every day.

This is the best value backpacker hostel in Penang, and it even has a swimming pool! It's my top choice in Penang, especially since it's located in the heritage area of the city, making it super convenient to get around. There are also plenty of restaurants nearby. The room was clean, comfortable, and well maintained, providing a relaxing environment after a long day. Housekeeping did a good job, and the overall atmosphere of the hotel felt calm and welcoming. Superb location, close to so many well known eateries. Rapid bus is at hostel doorstep to commute to various places of interests. Capsule bed is enclosed by concrete wall and you wouldn't hear movements on the top bed. Air conditioning and hot showers are strong. There are many lounges to rest and relax and love the Peranakan ambience of the hostel. Staff are nice and helpful and love that the towels are of the reputable hotel quality and are changed once every 2 days. A bottle of drinking water given everyday by the housekeeper. The staff were courteous and professional, and check-in and check-out were smooth. Amenities were adequate and met expectations for a comfortable stay. The centerpiece of this hotel is a square Zen garden, with a rectangular open sky roof that lets rain in to nourish the plants indoors. This very much adds to the relaxing ambience of the place. One of the best places to hang out at this sizeable hotel is at the commons, where there are comfy leather couches, a TV, a fridge, a water dispenser, an ironing board and also worth mentioning a bookshelf filled with books and board games. It is open for all registered hotel guests to use, and is nicely equipped and furnished. Working shower with heater. Also, clean toilet. I recommended place to stay for solo travelers or with friends. I liked this hotel very much. If you stay for three days, the hotel provides laundry service. I would happily stay again Overall, it was a excellent experience, and I would consider staying here again in the future.

The accommodation matches the photos and description. The location is perfect and everything is clean. We were the only guests, with a man in the next room. We could hear absolutely everything, even his snoring. The included breakfast consists of one dish of your choice. No drinks are included. Not even coffee 😭 But you will have the pleasure of lukewarm water throughout your stay. Despite everything, we had the two worst nights since we arrived in Malaysia. The double room faces the street. There is no soundproofing and it's stiflingly hot. We never leave the air conditioning on at night, but there was no choice. On the ground floor, there is a restaurant with extras. Once it closes, the air conditioning is turned off, making it impossible to turn it on to stay downstairs in the evening or early morning (they arrive around 9:00 am). This is the major drawback: no common area for guests. It's a restaurant with rooms upstairs. A jazz playlist plays loudly all day, accompanying the uniformed staff. When you go downstairs, they suddenly stop talking. It's really awkward. They spend their time on their phones (nothing serious), but with the volume cranked up, scrolling through nonsense. We use the word ”staff” to refer to the employees. It feels like they're acting without knowing what to do in the hospitality industry. Truly unheard of in Asia. It was a comedy sketch! 🤣😂🤣😂 The staff doesn't seem to have any experience in hotels or restaurants. Polite to the touch, but very clumsy (a woman with a large bag is struggling on the stairs, and no one offers her any help...). I've never seen anything like it in several months of travel in Malaysia (where I've always been perfectly welcomed) and throughout Southeast Asia. With all that said, it's no wonder almost no one comes to eat or sleep here, even though it's very new. There are plenty of guesthouses further down the street that would be happy to welcome you.

The location is great, lively, but I didn't hear any street noises while sleeping. The cleanliness was so-so; there was hair on the bed, and no toilet paper in the bathroom. The Wi-Fi was infuriatingly bad, absolutely terrible, and the staff knew but didn't fix it. Surprisingly, the Wi-Fi signal was better in the shopping mall (this hostel is located in a shopping mall, hence the description). In other words, the Wi-Fi signal was better outside the hostel than inside the mall! Also, because it was self-check-in, contacting staff was sometimes difficult; many people were waiting at the door for a reply. Originally, it was for two nights, but it was changed to one night.
