"The location is definitely one of the best features of this stay as it is very accessible to restaurants, convenience stores and all transportation options around the city. The staff are also very helpful when asked regarding directions. You also have the option to avail of the lunch or dinner buffet at their partner restaurant in the ground floor. PS. "What I liked: - good location - excellent customer service - beautiful reception - the breakfast was authentic and tasty What I did not like: - cockroach was found in my room - the rooms and bathrooms are extremely dated in desperate need for a redo, despite some efforts for refurbishment since my last stay earlier this year - the TV is pretty much just a decoration in room, about 4-5 channels are available with poor signal quality, without any exaggeration it is impossible to view. Not a Smart TV, so no YouTube or Netflix to keep you entertained, if you choose to stay here, - it is poor value for the price/night, the recent price increase is really not justifiable"

"The service was great, the location was excellent, and the hotel buffet was quite good. However, compared to the luxurious and grand vibe of the lobby and common areas, the guest rooms were way too outdated. During my 7-night stay, hot water didn't work for about 3 days. Plus, they didn't provide Wi-Fi in the rooms, which was incredibly inconvenient as an international traveler. Personally, it felt like the hotel cares way more about its outward appearance than the actual guest experience."

"Our stay at the hotel was excellent. We were looking for an affordable location with a conducive atmosphere for studying, and it delivered. While it's located on a street that experiences heavy afternoon traffic, this ironically worked in our favor, since the limited vehicle access made the area surprisingly quiet. The receptionist and staff were warm, accommodating, and handled all our inquiries efficiently. As for the room, I actually appreciated the analog aircon, since the steady noise helped me focus. There were a few areas for improvement, however. The toiletries were limited to a bar of soap (shampoo and toothpaste would've been a nice addition), and the analog TV had a weak signal and took up space. One major plus was the reception area, which offered ample lighting and table spaces for studying. The elevator was convenient, though note that it's turned off late at night. Overall, a highly recommended stay for students or budget travelers looking for focus and quiet."

"I had a pleasant stay at Hotel Sogo overall, and I would like to share my experience. The hotel was clean, comfortable, and well-maintained. The room was tidy, the bed was comfortable, and the facilities worked properly throughout my stay. I also appreciated the staff, who were polite, accommodating, and always ready to assist whenever I had questions or needed help. Their professionalism made me feel welcome and added to the positive experience. One thing I found a little difficult was locating the elevator. Since it is somewhat hidden, it took me a while to find it, especially as a first-time guest. It would be very helpful if the hotel could install more visible directional signs or provide clearer guidance upon check-in so guests can easily locate the elevator without confusion. Aside from that minor concern, everything else was excellent. The hotel provided a comfortable and relaxing environment, and I was satisfied with the quality of service I received. The cleanliness, affordability, and convenience made my stay enjoyable. Overall, I would rate my experience 8 out of 10. "I visited last December, and once again, the friendly and kind staff at Ahoview Hotel made me decide to stay here again. The rooms are well-cleaned and very tidy. The city view from the window also gets a passing grade. And most of all, I was satisfied with the breakfast buffet, though I would have been even happier if there were mangoes in the fruit section. Also, the Halo-Halo I had at the café was incredibly delicious. I'll include photos for you to see. This trip to Davao for three days was very satisfying. I'm truly grateful to all the hotel staff who work so sincerely for their guests."
