"This hotel is truly lovely. We stayed for 3 nights and I can genuinely recommend it. The location is a bit secluded, as the area is more of a party spot known for its Full Moon parties. When there isn't one, the place feels like a ghost town, and so does the hotel. So, if you're looking for peace and quiet, it's perfect. The service is exceptionally friendly and reliable. You have to keep in mind that there are tides, meaning the sea is shallow at certain times and you generally can't really swim. But the beach right outside is beautiful and unique."
"Excellent location, a picturesque spot. I believe it's the best part of Haad Rin beach. The bungalow is spacious and comes with a veranda. If I'm ever on Koh Phangan again, I'll definitely come back here. Monkeys, monitor lizards, and squirrels pass by. Birds and cicadas sing. There's construction happening nearby, but that will eventually finish. So, all that's left is to enjoy the beauty of this place."
"Lovely location at the top of the hill with a fantastic view over the sea and balcony particularly during sunset. Rustic bungalow/room which was charming in its simplicity but had started to show wear and tear (gap in top of door to balcony). Would have hoped for a kettle and free tea/coffee.
But overall good stay-lady on reception very kind/friendly and allowed me early check in. Would stay here again for the price"
"First time in Koh Phangan and Bayshore hotel was an enjoyable experience. Very modern, clean place with exceptional personnel and great amenities. We have stayed in a Deluxe Cottage that was surrounded by greenery and nice shade had been there all the time. Hotel has a nice pool and surrounding area, and a clean and cozy beach. Breakfast experience is great too, very beautiful serving and polite staff. The distance from Thong sala pier is 25 minute by car. Hotel provides it's own good transfer in a gorgeous car by 300 thb let adult, child for free. Highly recommend this hotel for a quiet family vacation."
"Even though it was a short stay, we had a wonderful holiday. This is an excellent place to stay if you're looking for great value for money, cleanliness, an enjoyable breakfast, and a quiet environment to relax in.
It has a balcony, and the sea is nearby (though not really suitable for swimming). Haad Rin Beach is less than a 10-minute walk away. There are also cafes, restaurants, laundry services, a 7-Eleven, and more nearby, so you'll have everything you need for your stay."
"We booked the deluxe villa with a bathroom because I was particularly drawn to the design of having a small pool in the courtyard. I used it daily, and the privacy felt palpable once I locked the front door. The rooms were well-separated, featuring a cozy living room with a ceiling fan, tables, chairs, and a TV. The bedroom and bathroom were decent-sized and equipped with all the essentials.
The daily coffee and bottled water were a pleasant surprise. However, the reception staff were friendly, but the restaurant, bar, and breakfast staff were cold and unfriendly. We only needed to request a room cleaning once, and it was done quickly, but it didn’t feel thorough. Three ladies arrived with cleaning supplies, but they left within 3-5 minutes, changing the towels and water, but not doing much else.
We believe you should request a room cleaning, at least that’s what we felt. The breakfast was basic and didn’t get replenished quickly. One morning, we had breakfast and discovered that the milk was spoiled. It had mixed with our coffee and cereal, so we had to leave it. The staff were always cold and unfriendly during breakfast and later at the bar and restaurant.
On the positive side, the view from the pool was excellent, and it was peaceful and relaxing to be there. However, I noticed some weeds and smoke around the area, which made me feel a bit sick after inhaling it for a while, even though I’m a non-smoker.
Also, there is a nice 711 across the road from the hotel, and it’s in walking distance to get to the haad rin beach"
"The service provided was exceptional; the staff were incredibly attentive and always went above and beyond to ensure that my stay was comfortable and enjoyable. From the moment I arrived until the time I departed, I felt genuinely welcomed and cared for.
As for the facilities, they were top-notch. The hotel offers a wide range of amenities that cater to every need. Whether it was the well-equipped gym, the relaxing spa, or the beautiful swimming pool, there was something for everyone to enjoy. The rooms were spacious, clean, and elegantly decorated, providing a perfect retreat after a long day of exploring the city."
"Great stay, location is fantastic and extremely close to the beach but still very quiet at night. Kind of hidden away behind a gym so can be difficult to find but doesn’t take away from how nice the stay was. Would definitely recommend."
"Great stay, all of the staff were hard working, and friendly but Catalina, Moe and Aaron were exceptional and a credit to the team. Good location, comfortable room, big pool, plenty of beds, direct access to the beach, fabulous sunsets snd a short walk to Haadrin Walking Street, restaurants and its beach. The only negative was that smoking was permitted around the pool, it would’ve been a more pleasant experience if there were smoking and none smoking areas and it was enforced by staff."

Amazing
GGuest UserWe had a wonderful stay at Kupu Kupu Phangan and can wholeheartedly recommend this hotel. The grounds are beautiful, peaceful, and very well-maintained—ideal for relaxation and well-being.
A very special thank you goes to the fantastic team, especially Bank, AD, Micky, San, Aek, Lin, Ziny, Nonoe, and Foam. Everyone was always warm, attentive, and incredibly friendly.
We were particularly touched by the loving and patient way our son was treated. As a family, we felt welcome from the very first moment.
We would love to return and wholeheartedly recommend Kupu Kupu Phangan.
JJorborI was very excited to stay at this hotel. The room had a wonderful atmosphere, and I was fortunate to receive a room with a high ceiling, which made the space feel even more spacious and airy. The room was also very clean. The only downside was that after spending some time in the room or using the bathroom, a strong sewage odor began to come from the drain. Even with the toilet lid closed, the smell was still quite unpleasant.
In terms of transportation, everything was very convenient. You can contact the lobby to arrange transfers around Koh Phangan (for an additional fee). Guests can also access the swimming pool and certain services at other hotels within the same group (additional charges may apply), which makes getting around easier and adds more activities to enjoy.
As for the breakfast buffet, there was a wide variety of options available. However, most of the dishes were quite cold, likely because they had been left out for some time. Only the egg station served freshly cooked and warm food.
AAleksandr D eWe chose a hotel for a holiday with children and rented a motorbike to go to the nearby beaches. The location is excellent; we visited at low tide, but regretted it. Next time, only at high tide. You can swim, but it's shallow at low tide, approximately 70 cm deep, and 40 cm at low tide. But since we went to the neighboring beach, it was just as shallow there.
SSofaï77Beautifully maintained and peaceful bungalows in a garden right on the beach.
The staff is helpful (thank you, Sunny!) and offers great advice.
The bungalow has storage space. The bedding is very comfortable. A quick rinse with water before entering.
Towels are changed daily.
The beach is simply magnificent. There are massage services and restaurants.
We stayed for 5 days... I would definitely go back.
DDaria ZinovevaWas something what I need, quite remotes place, but not far from everything. Very particular and special place I would say, something unusual. The hotel is not old, but I felt in the room that it’s quite old, the atmosphere) The linen had spots. The bed is big and very comfortable. Great incredible view! You can just be stuck near the window. Really spacious room. Very high, so to bring there suitcases I wouldn’t recommend, you would just suffer. There is Apichada view point, one of the best places in Phangan.
SStepan Tevs”Spectacular views, shame about everything else”
Venus on Koh Phangan is the definition of a mixed bag—and unfortunately, the negatives outweigh the positives here.
Let's start with what works: the view is absolutely stunning. Perched overlooking the water, it's genuinely breathtaking and exactly what you'd hope for when booking an island getaway. If you're someone who can sit on a balcony and stare at the sea for hours, you'll get that here.
The problem is you'll have to stare at it from a very tired room. The accommodation is old and frankly, dying for a renovation. Everything feels dated and worn—furniture, fittings, decor—like stepping back in time but not in a charming way. It's functional at best.
The location compounds the issues. It's terrible—nothing around at all, and almost inaccessible by foot. You'll absolutely need your own transportation (scooter or taxi) just to get to a restaurant or convenience store. If you're without wheels, you're stranded.
Overall, Venus trades entirely on its view, but neglects everything else. If you prioritize scenery above all and have your own transport, maybe. Otherwise, look for somewhere that puts equal effort into the actual accommodation and location.
AAnonymous UserOk for the price losts of interesting wild life.
You need a motorbike to get about on kohpangan because taxis are very expensive.
The dogs are sweet and soon recognised me and remembered me . They just bark when they first meet anyone .
I lasted 12days without air-conditioning but had to up grade to air-conditioning after lack of sleep and dehydration.
771/60大BIs a small resort hide just offside of the road.
To enter wirh your car need careful driving as it is narrow and rough.
Only few parking lot and should be enough afterall not too many drive a car in the island.
Check in/out is easy.
Speak good enough.
Room at first glance is lovely but the first night is a nightmare since a lot of mosquitoes inbthe room and I need to but a mosquito coil to kill them and also the smoke killed us too.
Aftet that, it is fine and evan though sometimes we may be bitten agian by the strong mosquitoes.
No breakfast but you can use their utensils such as kettle, hot plate, microwave to cook.
30Thb to wash and a drying rack is located at the back of the room with sufficient hanger to hang and dry your clothes.
A small swimming pool but I would dare to try.
Walking distance to the night market/food stall.
AAngyoThe hotel is like a secret paradise with a private beach super quiet and calm away from the street noise. The rooms are big and very comfortable. The only bad thing was the other guests coming back home drunk at 4am shouting like no one else was sleeping...
MMVCarvalhoThe place is very beatiful with amazing view, but for 4 stars hotel they need to make improvements in general, service, food and facilities.
The hotel is too far from the center about 40 min by car, and the hotel doesn’t provide any shuttle for free, if you want to go to the city for any reason you have to pay.
Breakfast: there is variety of food but I’m my opinion it’s not a good quality, I was expecting more.
Facilities: swimming pool and sun beds is ok, they provide one kind of fabric but isn’t towel.
Room: my room was beatiful and clean, but so dark, bathroom the floor was a kind of tiles slippery and little bit, this is a kind of hazards.
