"We had a great stay at the Waikiki Resort Hotel. Location was perfect, just a block off the beach and central to everything in Waikiki. We received a discount on our car rental located on site. The staff was friendly and helpful throughout our stay. The pool was nice. The buffet was fine. The rooms were great with a king bed for a couples stay. High value stay."

"The location is great! It's situated on a commercial street just two blocks from Waikiki Beach, so it's super close to the ocean. There are plenty of restaurants and convenience stores nearby, so you'll never have to worry about finding a place to eat. The cleanliness and service were also top-notch; the staff were very warm and attentive. The environment is lovely, and there's even a bubble pool on the first floor to enjoy. The only downside is that it can get a bit noisy at night with the street traffic, but having a small balcony to enjoy the view more than makes up for it! It's just so convenient, and the price is reasonable too!"

"A little distance from Waikiki Beach, the quiet of the hotel, the hotel's own beach is relatively small. You can see the Diamond Head Mountain, some sea views, and the scenery is not bad. The bed was too soft and it was not very comfortable to sleep. The environment in the room is general, the law is quite satisfactory."

"I chose this place for my solo trip because hotels were too expensive. The location is absolutely fantastic, right on a main street, so I felt perfectly safe walking alone at night. Even though it's a capsule hotel, they provide towels, thin slippers, and a toothbrush. The sheets were clean, and it felt private enough that I could actually sleep. Since there are Japanese staff, communication in Japanese was easy. Everyone staying there was traveling solo, so it was very quiet. I even wondered if it was the quietest place in all of Hawaii (lol). The shared lounge/living area was also quiet, and you could get free tea and water. My capsule was next to the women-only door, so I frequently heard the door opening and closing in the middle of the night and early morning, which was a bit bothersome. My only real complaint would be the shared showers. I stayed for two nights, and on the second day, someone hadn't rinsed out their hair after using the shower, and the sinks were also full of hair. I guess that's to be expected for this price point. Other than that, everything else was good. I think it's a great place if you can tolerate the showers."

"The view wasn't what I expected, but it was good enough. I was satisfied. I wondered if early check-in was possible, but I was lucky enough to be able to check in right away. The beach towels were available for unlimited rental, which was really convenient whenever I went to the beach. I'd definitely stay here again next time."

"This hotel offers good value for money. Although it's a bit far from Waikiki Beach, technically it's at the very end of it, the views, the beach, and everything else are great. Transportation is also convenient; you can walk to many bus stops in less than 5 minutes. It's part of a resort complex."

"The location of the hotel is really close to waikiki beach 10 min walk , grab your coffee on the way and go to the beach , the hotel staffs are amazing, very helpful, supportive, friendly, every single one of them , this is really important as a solo traveller I had so many questions and inquiries and they helped me to solve everything in an instance. They even have weights to weigh my luggage before the flight. The room had a stunning balcony, everything so clean, no smell no mold, everything was working , the AC , the mini fridge, they even gave me a kettle because i said I loved having coffee in the morning. They have tours as well , activities like hula dancing , Lei making, there is an ABC store for your water , fruits , snacks , sunscreen . Very convenient . I Highly recommend this hotel."

"The view here is absolutely stunning; it's the main reason to go! The Diamond Head and ocean views are incredible, something you wouldn't typically find at a 4-star hotel. However, what was disappointing was that housekeeping only came every two days, and while they replaced the towels, it seemed they didn't change the bed sheets. I noticed a stain on the duvet before leaving, and when I returned after housekeeping, the duvet looked tidy, but the stain was still in the exact same spot. Parking cost about $290 for 5 days, and since it's valet, you also have to tip when you get your car, which can be an extra burden. If that's an issue for you, I'd recommend looking for free parking nearby. I just opted for valet because I didn't want the hassle. Waikiki is less than a 10-minute walk away, and most of the staff were very friendly."

"It was the best hotel I've stayed at in Hawaii. The stylish lobby was so comfortable that I wanted to sit on the sofa all day, and the room was just the right size for two people. We requested a room on a high floor, so we got a room on the top floor. The lanai was also spacious, and the view from the 9th floor was amazing, with Diamond Head and the ocean. The air conditioner in the room broke, but they fixed it right away, which was great. The restaurant in the hotel was also delicious. The eggs Benedict, which is well-known, and the pancakes were the best for me. Even if you don't have a breakfast plan, the shop in the hotel has a wide variety of snacks such as sandwiches, so it's a good idea to buy them and eat them in your room. At the beach, there were few people and it was quiet, so we were able to spend a very meaningful time. However, there are no Japanese staff, so if you are not familiar with English, it may be difficult to deal with any problems that arise. Still, they explained things carefully so that Japanese people could understand, so I could see their sincerity. I would 100% recommend this hotel."

GGuest UserThis hotel was perfect for my trip. [Room] - Spacious - The sink was large. I was able to spread out all my amenities. The large mirror and magnifying mirror made applying makeup easy. - Excellent shower pressure. - The toilet flushed smoothly. - The bathroom had a large luggage storage area with over 10 hangers. I brought folding hangers but didn't use them. I was able to easily fit three inflatable swim rings and a suitcase. - There were plenty of chests of drawers, so I was able to store all my clothes. - There was a large mirror behind the sofa, making it easy to get ready. - There were also multiple outlets on the side beds, so charging my phone was easy. - Two adults and a small child could sleep comfortably on the king bed. There was also a sofa bed, but we didn't use it. - The housekeeper always cleaned the room well, and there was no sand from the beach. - Plenty of towels and tissues. - The coffee machine, paper cups, and drinking glasses were always kept replenished. [Pool/Beach] - You can go directly to the beach from the pool. There were plenty of beach chairs reserved for the hotel, so it was easy to find a spot. You could leave your towel and luggage there, play in the pool, then play on the beach and then return to the pool empty-handed. Duke's staff are always wandering around the poolside checking for orders, so you can order from the menu on the spot. You can even drink alcohol while swimming in the pool. Floor rings are allowed in the pool. Beach bags are provided in the rooms, so you can use them. They're large and sturdy, and I often saw people carrying them around town. I didn't need to bring my own. Water bottles are also provided. There's a water dispenser by the pool. [Overall Hotel] The staff were friendly and helpful. The staff helped me with my luggage as soon as I arrived. I arrived at 12:30, but they allowed me to check in early without asking. My luggage was delivered to my room promptly, and after I told them where the safe was, they left the room saying, ”Enjoy!”, so I almost missed a tip. While there aren't many Japanese people and none of the staff speaks Japanese perfectly, I was able to get by with just a few words. Security is tight, as you can't get on the elevators without a hotel card. Conveniently, there's a Hula Grill and Duke's just down the street from the lobby. For a late breakfast around 9:00, Hula Grill was open, and I was able to get a great beachfront seat without a reservation. I got a cheap city view room on the first floor, but I was more than satisfied with the ocean view from the lanai. The location is great, with the International Market Place right across the street. There are also plenty of shops downstairs. I forgot to buy souvenirs the day before my final day, so I popped into Honolulu Cookies, which is open until 10:00 PM, in my pajamas. It's right in the middle of Waikiki Beach, so both the Royal Hawaiian Center and Waikiki Beach Walk are within walking distance. I was very satisfied, but as other reviews have said, it can be noisy at night. Street music can be heard until late every night. However, I enjoyed it because I thought, ”Everyone's so cheerful. It feels like I'm overseas.” There were days when I could hear something that sounded like opera, and it felt like I got a good deal. It's strange that there are so few Japanese people there, considering the location and service are so good. There are almost no Japanese people there, so it feels like I'm abroad.

GGuest UserWe were given Room 08 in the Ewa building, and the balcony view was exactly as pictured. Even though we were on a high floor, we could still faintly hear the lively party music at night, but it didn't bother our sleep. I'm not sure if it would be an issue for lower floors. Getting to the beach was super convenient – just cross the street, turn right, and you're there. The waves on this part of the beach are very gentle and consistent, so I'd recommend renting a board and heading out. The hotel providing beach towels and chairs was a nice touch and very convenient. The room itself was quite spacious, and while it felt a bit dated, the restroom and bathroom had been renovated with updated fixtures, including a Japanese toilet. The only downside is that the bathroom space felt a bit cramped.

GGuest UserThe hotel is nice for the price of low $223 but they charge $45 per day of activity fees but I never used. The location is about 10 minutes walk from the central Waikiki area but is OK. The breakfast buffet is good and includes in the room package. The only problem is that they only have valet parking for $60 per day. It took them 45 minutes in the morning to get my car down on day 1 and we missed the tour. The other days were 10 to 15 minutes. I guess they don’t have enough parking so they have to double park and triple park. I tried to park at the adjacent Banyan lot but all full after 8pm. There are no other viable option other than valet parking in the hotel.

YYee11Hands down, this hotel is all about location, convenience, and comfort. If you want to be right in the middle of all the Waikīkī buzz, this is it. You’re just minutes from Waikīkī Beach and within easy walking distance to International Market Place, Royal Hawaiian Center, countless restaurants, cafés, and convenience stores. Everything is so accessible that you can explore easily on foot. The rooms feel fresh and newly renovated, with a modern island-chic style. Clean, bright, and comfortable — not ultra-luxury, but definitely more than sufficient for a relaxing stay. Perfect if you want the essentials done well without paying for full resort-style extras. You’re surrounded by food options — poke, shave ice, smoothie spots, breakfast cafés, and nicer dinner restaurants. Convenience stores are just steps away, making it easy to grab essentials without needing transport. If you value prime location, walkability, renovated rooms, an outdoor pool, a gym, and solid value over ultra-luxe amenities, this hotel is a great choice.

UUSCkaiwenlaoshiThe Rainbow Tower is quite new and the rooms are decent, but the elevators are incredibly slow. With over 1000 rooms sharing just 5 elevators, you're looking at nearly a ten-minute wait every time. I'd advise against booking an ocean view room because you won't really see much ocean; it's mostly lagoon. For a true ocean view, you'd need to book an 'oceanfront view,' and even then, it depends on the front desk's mood – they might give you a low floor where you still can't see anything. My room was on a very low floor with virtually no view, plus there was construction going on downstairs, which was very noisy. The hotel's location is a bit out of the way for Waikiki; it's over a 15-minute walk to the main area. However, it's only a 15-minute walk to Ala Moana Shopping Center. Also, if beach quality is important to you, don't stay here. The beach is full of coral fragments, which hurt your feet, and the water is murky. The towel counter closes at 6 PM, so there's nowhere to return towels after that. Additionally, they don't offer complimentary beach chairs or bodyboards, unlike Marriott where they're free. Overall, it's not really worth the price.

GGuest UserGood location at the beginning of Waikiki- close enough to everything without being in the midst of touristy chaos.  Amenities decent- nothing too fancy but all the basic amenities covered.  (Pool✅, gym✅, sauna✅- steam room was out of order) missing a jacuzzi & would have liked extended pool hours- but really enjoyed our time there- free excellent first come, first served- cabana options ,and  complimentary ice cakes.  Staff was friendly & helpful- despite an initial awkward check in experience.  Breakfast buffet-(Cafe 410)  good choices, attentive staff. Recommend going early to beat the loud & large crowds. Elevators were like a roller coaster ride and zipped us up to our room and down to lobby in a flash.  The water bottle check in gift was a nice and appreciated touch. (Just wished that ice machines were on every floor) Signature Steak House- pricey but worth every dollar!!  Very elegant/classy atmosphere - though kind of looser on the dress code than expected.  Steak melts in your  mouth- light, flavorful- perfect!  Best.Damned.Steak.Ever!!  Really set the bar and forever ruined all other steaks in comparison!!! Overall , very nice Kamaaina couple staycation. Only complaint would be the horrible mattresses!! (So uncomfortable that we had a hard time sleeping and woke daily with sore backs- and that there wasn’t free Kamaaina parking.

MManaSuisseExcept for the location near the airport I wouldn't recommend this hôtel. It's dirty and noisy. And when the breakfast is included in the price of room, you get coupon for the restaurant. The choice of food for breakfast is very small. And it's either coffee (a very very bad one) or water (a very very small bottle). And then you are allowed to eat in the restaurant and you have to take away and eat in your room as there is no other places to eat. This breakfast is a joke :(

GGuest UserI would not recommend this hotel to anyone unless they’re a very deep sleeper. The road noise is impossible to sleep with. I’ll be complaining soon and seeking a part refund. Even with earplugs I couldn’t sleep enough. (There was also no bottled water. Even in countries with drinking tap water, hotel rooms get theirs from tanks so it’s not recommended.)

GGuest UserIt was a room with a view of the diamond head and the sea. I was a little worried about the height because I wanted a clear view of the sea, but I was satisfied with the Lanai overlooking the two without any problems. It is old as a whole, the bathtub is old, and it takes time to get hot water.
