Hotels near Porter Square in Cambridge

We love this place so much that you will need to come here to experience yourself. Warm hospitality, cozy vibes, free snacks, fruits, tea and coffee and a well functioning kitchen to cook light meals. Quiet neighborhood and lovely view from the window. Bird singing to wake you up and you can chill all day in the house if you don’t have plans lol.  Nancy中英都能溝通，在這裡留宿三晚受到她暖暖的款待，鄉村風格的擺設和設計相當有溫暖，來這裡會想要一直拍照，如果是春天來，風景應該會更漂亮！位於哈佛和MIT中間位置，走路皆能抵達，附近商店餐廳選擇多，下次若還來出差或是觀光，優先選擇這裡！

The room was of comfortable size and I particularly appreciated that the room was made up daily. Friendly staff and good service in general.  The Grab and Go Bistro offered a good selection of breakfast choices, while the quality of dishes served at the Bisuteki (Japanese restaurant) by the lobby has much room for improvement, given the high prices! I also liked that the hotel is sandwiched between Trader Joe’s and Whole Foods Market, with a Blue Bikes dock just a couple mins walk from the lobby, very convenient.

Second time staying here, quite like the vibe of the hotel. By the river side of Boston river, quite quiet during the day, but also a popular gathering place at night and on weekends. So you get both the quietness and the crowd. The room is decent sizes, nothing to complain about. And the services are also reasonable. Surely would be my choice if I come back to Boston again. Oh forgot to mention, get a river view room, it's surely worth the price difference.

To add, the hotel is incredibly convenient for visiting MIT, as it's within walking distance. Google Maps' walking directions aren't quite accurate and will take you on a roundabout route to the dome. I recommend navigating directly to MIT Chapel; the visitor center is right across from it. From there, you can easily cut through a building to reach the dome. Getting to Harvard is also easy, just take the Red Line subway. Once you exit the station, you're right at Harvard's red brick wall and main gate. You can also take the #1 bus, which will drop you off on the other side of the red wall and another gate. You could take the bus there and the subway back, avoiding retracing your steps. Overall, the hotel's location is great and very convenient for transport.

The room was new. The kitchen was fully equipped, and the refrigerator was clean. There were some mandatory purchases, but we chose cycling, which was fantastic! Breakfast was very popular, but the location was great, very close to the Redline subway station.

The location is fantastic, right across from the main Harvard campus, and the Charles River on the other side. I didn't get a chance to try out the reading nook, foosball area, or fitness room in the lobby. The restaurant was excellent; during the World Cup, we watched games while eating, and the staff were friendly and chatted with us.

I booked two rooms. One was a river-view room with a balcony, offering a great view for photos, though the bed was a bit smaller. The other room also had a river view, but its balcony was enclosed within the hotel, and it had a larger bed. It rained and the temperature dropped, which actually made the enclosed balcony quite useful (haha).

We had a lovely stay at the Fairfield Cambridge. From the lovely stuff at reception that allowed us to check in early in the morning. The service throughout our stay was excellent with lovely stuff all around. The location, and the proximity to the subway station I'd a key asset to the property.

The room was great. Clean, stocked with all necessary things like shampoo, conditioner and body wash. Would have liked a hairdryer but didn’t see one. The state of the building was a mess though. Major renovations left the first impressions lacking with the “front desk” stuck on the 3rd floor in a conference room. This made dragging my bag through an additional hurdle unhelpful. Renovations are often unavoidable but they should come with informing all guest about them prior to a booking a room. My room looked out onto a huge hole in the ground due to construction on the opposite side of the street. Also not ideal. Views from the lift were nice though.

Although it is not far from MIT, the surrounding area feels quite remote. The front desk service is not good. They refused to provide bottled water. I asked for it twice but they didn't give it to me. They said it was only for members and asked us to buy it at the gift shop, but there was no one in the store. Later, I went to the supermarket next door to buy water. Then I remembered that I had registered as an IHG member, but I was too lazy to go to the front desk to ask for water again. The breakfast was also very simple. I barely ate bread and bread to fill my stomach. After staying for a few days, I concluded that the service of this kind of chain store is average. Slippers are not provided. Everyone remember to bring your own slippers and toothpaste and toothbrush:) The parking fee is very expensive, 50 dollars per night for guests staying in the hotel
