Visit here often for work. The location is fantastic and the staff are always helpful and nice. The staff that work the Starbucks cafe in the lobby Ali, and Goitom always great me with a warm hello and go above and beyond.

Interesting stay! I wasn't sure about the girl on reception as she didn't give me my suitcase at first, when I collected my bags. However, I just remembered I saw a ticket on the floor so she must have dropped it and I didn't realise it was mine! đ Sorry. My room key and TV had minor issues on my second night and the lift is a bit rickety. However, overall a pleasant stay for the price: decent location, clean, compact and cute room and okay breakfast (in a beautifully decorated little room with attentive staff). In fact the staff were all great really and are polite. So, I recommend. Thank you.

I am very happy to travel alone in London this time. Ellen Hotel is a newly opened hotel. The location is very convenient. It takes about 20-30 minutes to get to the attractions by subway. The hotel can be reached in about 5 minutes on foot from earls court station. , there are many restaurant options near the hotel, as well as 2 supermarkets and drug stores, very convenient! During my stay, the staff at Ellen Hotel were very enthusiastic and helpful. I was also very happy to meet Helen, the general manager of the hotel. The hotel facilities are gradually opening and there is free self-service laundry service. However, there is only one washing machine and dryer at the moment, so you need to queue up. Waiting in line, the room is very clean and comfortable, the refrigerator provides paid wine and soda, the bed is of moderate hardness, the pillows are not too soft, there is a hot towel machine in the bathroom, and the TV can connect you to Netflix and YouTube. It can be seen that the hotel is very dedicated to providing quality services to its guests. I would highly recommend this hotel to friends and family!

At first we were put in the lower ground - the room was dusty, very small and the window would not open. When we spoke with the manager he moved us and was very accommodating with us - it was a free upgrade which we greatly appreciated and made our trip so much more comfortable. The new room was on floor 3 with a lovely view of the gardens opposite and was very clean. The location really sold this hotel for us - close to 3 stations, great pub on the corner, lots of places to eat in Notting Hill, 10 mins walk from Portobello Rd. The breakfast was not included as advertised, but it did not look appetising to us so we opted to go out rather than pay ÂŁ7 to eat at the hotel. There are limitless options.

Adore this hotel and always lovely to stay here and meet the friendly staff. Conveniently located near to either Maida Vale tube station (Bakerloo line) or St John's Wood (Jubilee) and a short walk to Abbey Road Studios, âThe Beatlesâ crossing, Lords Cricket Ground and Regent's Park. Not too far from Hyde Park/Marble Arch/Oxford Street either. Rooms refurbished since I was last here pre-pandemic and it makes such a different to them. Super clean, also comfortable beds and modern showers / bathroom. Bar and Italian restaurant next door integral to the hotel (Carluccios). Can get a glass of wine to take to your room after it's closed if you ask at reception (thank you). Not a great deal immediately around the hotel but if I'm away for work this isn't an issue as Carluccios is good enough. Even if on vacation, it's a short 15 minute taxi ride to Oxford Street. Wonderful breakfast choice in the morning also in Carluccios but run by the hotel staff. Everything you could imagine you would want for breakfast and a big enough space not to have to queue for a table. Seems a safe affluent area (certainly between the hotel and Regent's Park). And a nice old tin church on the walk from Maida Vale to the hotel! USB charging points in the (at least refurbished) rooms. Oh and in the summer on hot days they give you free ice creams!

We had a lovely stay at St Giles, London.
Well located hotel, near to Tottenham Court Road Station, bus stops, supermarkets, shops, eateries, theatres etc. From Heathrow Airport, we took the Elizabeth line to Tottenham Court Road Station and hotel was just a short walk away. The British museum was also nearby.
Hotel staff were friendly, helpful and efficient. As we arrived rather early, Nikki helped us to secure a room earlier than official check in time, so that we can put our luggages and rest.
The concierge guys were great, giving advice on how best to get to our destination. The Chinese gentleman, sorry, I didn't get his name, even helped me with my Bolt app bookings!
We booked 2 new twin rooms. Although they were small, they were sufficient for 2 pax in each room. All amenities that we needed were available and rooms were cleaned thoroughly when we returned from our sightseeing. There was no air conditioner in the rooms but weather was great, so we had no issues.
The breakfast served was excellent, with a wide variety.
Good choice for our short stay in London.

GGuest UserBe careful of being unknowingly charged with a âdiscussionary charge of tipsâ (supposed to be A Conpulsory charge of tips, donât be fool by the name, it is non-discussionary) AFTER CHECKING OUT of the hotel. I was being charged with a discussionary charge of the tips on the credit card automatically without being informed upfront after I checked out and left the hotel.
When I checked out, i was informed at the counter that they were closing their account for previous day and they would help me check out my room and email me the invoice of my stay after they finished closing account. As a result, I innocently left the hotel since I thought a 5-star hotel would not have anything gone wrong. However, I was totally wrong until I saw extra charges on my credit card while not receiving any so called invoice from the hotel at all. I then reached out to Trip.com to request for the invoice that they have promised to send to me and it was then I was informed that the extra charges were from a discussionary charge of tips. I wasnât happy about the way this was done hence I requested for a refund for this since it clearly stated this is a DISCUSSIONARY fee, not a compulsory fee. However, I was informed that this is a Non-refundable fee and my request was denied.
Out of so many hotels I have stayed, it is unbelievable that in a 5-Star hotel, I was forced to pay something that wasnât even being informed upfront. In addition, with the fee name suggested, it is a discussionary charge of tips NOT a compulsory charge of tips, the hotel has forced the customers to pay it as COMPULSORY CHARGE OF TIPS.
In addition, the hotel services were very inefficient and lot of rooms for improve. We ordered for an in-room meal and we were told that it would take about half an hour to deliver. Hence we waited, and until an hour later, there was no update on our meal and we had to make a call again to check for the progress of our meal. It was then we knew there was a delay in the meal. By the time we done with our meal, we made the call again to request for someone to collect the plates, we literally waited for more than an hour and had to call twice before someone came to pick up the plates.
This shouldnât have been the service received in a 5-star hotel and the worst of all, the hotel should have more transparency in their charges and should have informed the customers on the charges upfront before the actual charging. When we signed for the amount paid for the meal, there were no statement on the discussionary charge of tips at all, and we didnât expect there would be as we were not even informed.
It is not that we are unwilling to give the tips and we did give the tips during the stay. However, it made us very uncomfortable that we werenât informed anything upfront and it was charged to my credit card AFTER we CHECKED OUT of THE HOTEL. It made us feeling very unsafe to provide the credit card to the hotel as they can charge whatever charges they want after checking out the hotel. In addition, it is a discussionary charge, isnât it should be discussed before I was being charged? If not it should be called a a compulsory charge of tips.
HHelenI was lucky enough to be able to check in early at midday and make extra use of the spa facilities, which was great. Staff were friendly and helpful, and the hotel was extremely clean. Breakfast was fantastic - one of the best hotel breakfasts I've ever had. Great location for attending events at the O2, especially with the covered walk way to the arena, direct from the hotel. The pool area of the spa is nice but looking slightly tired in places (one of the sets of steps into the pool was broken) and my room was well equipped (with an amazing river view from the 14th floor) but a little characterless. But over all it was very good. I'd stay again!
GGuest UserJust leaving Holiday Inn Sutton and have had a truly wonderful stay. This hotel was used as a base for exploring London and surrounding areas and can't recommend highly enough. Ok we're not talking 5 star luxury, but if you're looking for that common sense should tell you to book elsewhere. However if you're looking for CLEAN (so important) and comfort with EXCELLENT staff then this will be for you! Staff are honestly some of the best I've encountered (even in 5 star hotels) and I don't say that lightly. Restaurant, front desk, housekeeping, health club all an absolute credit to the hotel and brand. Thank you. Nothing was to much trouble and you made our stay really great. It's the morning and evening acknowledements and friendly vibe and all the little touches that really do go a long way. We'll be back and would highly recommend this hotel and if there's a way to reward staff on duty 27th-29th August 2022 please do :)
GGuest UserOur experience at this hotel was just phenomenal! Tarek at the front desk deserves a raise! I communicated with him through the phone as we were arriving super early and his honesty of possibly having a room ready helped us Taylor the beginning of our trip. We were able to check in early with him and we received a following up call from Tarek 5mn after entering the room, as he wanted to make sure we were happy with our room and that he was there if we needed him. Even during a very busy period he made the time to sort through all our requests. Such service makes the difference and that convinced us to come back in the future. The views from the higher floors are amazing. The room was clean and the perfect size for our 5 night stay. The bar/restaurant always had a great vibe both a breakfast and dinner; the serving sizes were large and we were very pleased. The lobby area is very well done and smells really nice! Only little downside was there was no business center and we needed to print some stuff . However, Tarek offered immediately to print our documents. We had such a fantastic stay and felt being taken care of throughout the whole stay, will surely be returning!
GGuest UserThis hotel is a clean modern hotel which is well maintained. My wife and I stayed here twice, for 3 and 4 days respectively while touring the UK. The rooms were comfortable for sleeping, quiet and the air-conditioning worked well. The bathrooms were well designed and very clean. Housekeeping was fine. The major problem was that both of our rooms were very small and they had virtually no space for clothing. There was no usable drawer space and closets were tiny and had an inadequate number of hangers as well. If you are traveling for other than 1-2 days, there is no place to put anything. Living out of suitcases for 4 days or more does not add to the enjoyment of one's trip. The Breakfast is at best, just OK. There is a minimal amount of fresh fruit and while you can order off a hot breakfast menu, most things we ordered were not very good, so we stopped doing that. The Reception staff was marginally helpful. No one came to help us with our luggage. If you need a taxi or limo to take you to the airport, you are on your own. In addition, the front of the hotel is covered by bus stops so the taxi or limo has to try to find a place to pull us to load or unload. There are just a lot of annoying things about this hotel, some could be remedied, others probably not. For my next visit to London, I will not be staying here.

Friendly reception staff at both day and night and an ample buffet style breakfast selection including full English, and continental options. My room was a duplex style with lots of space and a very comfortable bed. I was attending an event near to the O2 which is why I chose this hotel and taxis took around 10 minutes. Only criticism would be that the bar doesnât open until 7pm which seems a tad late, 6/6:30 would have been handy but not a deal breaker. All in all I wouldnât hesitate to stay here again! Thank you
GGuest UserI stayed this time before my flight from Heathrow T5. I have fallen in love with the character of this hotel as it really is a very good value. A little dated but I love that about it and it's positioning is amazing for plane spotters. You have everything you need and this time a couple of shortbread biscuits in the room with the tea/coffee selection. Thank you Thistle especially Parik and Mechell and the lovely cleaner who is always outside brushing up the fallen leaves when I see her! I will be back.
GGuest UserWe use Royal National each time we visit London which can be a few times a year, in the beginning for location, (its a 5 min walk from Russell Square tube station, 10 mins from the British museum and 15 mins from Oxford Street) but now for its cleanliness and friendliness of the staff, this time we had a complimentary upgrade into a fresh new updated room, the beds are always comfortable and the room is always extremely clean nothing is a problem for the cleaning team and extras such as tea milk etc is always provided as soon as requested. The onsite pub is also a plus offering meals aswell as an outdoor seating area with large screen tv this time showing the euro matches, it wasnt loud or rowdy and being at the back of the hotel we heard nothing. We will continue to use the hotel for each visit we make to London.
GGuest UserWe stayed 3 nights here, first night the rooms were wrong, after going to reception the ignorant woman behind reception was no help. Her male colleague changed the rooms on day 2. All 4 rooms were dumps, not fit for 1 star. Our room in the basement was directly above the tube line, you could hear it travelling every few minutes. Health and safety doesn't exist here. Breakfast is basic, no hot food and the milk was sour and stored in a flask. Everywhere except reception is filthy. The bar was closed for 2 of the 3 days we spent here as the barman did not turn up for work and nobody else was authorised to open the bar including the manager. 10 pounds charge to store your luggage while you wait to get checked in!!! While passing through reception at various times we heard at least 6 people complaining about the rooms they had been allocated. Nothing matches the photos online. Windows unlockable, safes not working, corroded tap in the ânewly refurbished bathroomâ, showers blocked. Well over priced for what it is. This place is not a hotel!! Unfortunately 0 stars is not an option.
