The Ryokan's owner and wife had been very friendly and welcoming during my stay, with prompt reply to my inquiries even before my stay. Having traveled to Nagano straight after a red-eye flight, I really appreciate the fact that they allowed me to check-in earlier on that day. The Ryokan is located very near to Zenko-ji Temple, allowing you to avoid the crowd to visit the Temple in the early morning. The Ryokan is also a 20min simple walk away from Nagano station. The Ryokan is equipped with modern facilities while preserving the traditional Ryokan vibe, ensuring a comfortable stay. The food served were delectable and hearty, with an impressive variety. I definitely see myself coming back again to stay if I travel to Nagano again.

This is basically the commodization of hotels at its finest. We had four of us staying in a hotel room meant for two at a reasonable price because we were only there for two nights. Some people might complain about the squishiness or the room missing some home comforts but it truly fitted purpose fine - you get what you pay for. As noted, the hotel is incredibly convenient to the train station. Computerized check-in system, but the staff walked me through it by hand. They'd forgotten to set up the sofa bed in the first room they gave us, but when we bridged the language gap (I was asking for sheets for the sofa bed I'd then set up, which was the wrong question) they moved us into the same room with the bed already set up with sheets. They were very pleasant to deal with. When looking for somewhere to stay without breaking the bank in Nagano, I would happily stay here again.

We stayed here for a couple of nights and it was a really clean and comfortable hotel and just a 7 minute walk from Nagano Station, a 7 minute walk to bus stop 23 for the Snow Monkey Park and close to a variety of restaurants and bars. It is also 15/20 minutes to Zenko-Ji which is a beautiful Buddhist temple and well worth visiting. We didn’t have breakfast included during our stay but other guests said that it was really good. Our room was really clean, spacious and comfortable with a firm mattress, a tv, toiletries and a kettle. In reception you can help yourself to teas, coffee and other toiletries for free which was helpful. The staff were really friendly and patient as we don’t speak Japanese. Our room was next to the railway line but the sound proofing was excellent and it was so quiet and we had two good nights of sleep. A comfortable and clean hotel that is conveniently located for exploring Negano.

The accommodation in Nagano city was at the entrance of Toyoko Inn Nagano Station Zenkoji. Since it is an ordinary Toyoko Inn, the facilities and facilities are simple, but both the building and the guest room were kept bright, clean and clean. The location is good. Since Nagano Station is about 200 m, I looked at the souvenir shop in the station building and there were many restaurants. There is one point to note. Most of the parking lots in Toyoko Inn do not accept reservations on a first-come, first-served basis, but only this hotel had to make a reservation. Please be careful.

Nagano is a quiet city. The only tourist spot would be Zenkoji temple and chestnuts sweets. Choices of Restaurants and shops are not what tourists usually expect. This hotel is just right next to the JR and high speed train station or you could say “in the station” as there is a bridge connecting to the 2nd floor of the hotel ( reception at 1st floor). Supermarket at the station is small and just like convenient store. But there are souvenir shops in the station. So do consider and plan for dinner. The hotel also offer good deals for body massage services. In short this is a up to standard business hotel but not quite recommended for tourists.
Chateraise hotel Nagano provides flawless service and all the necessary facilities for visitors. Remain linked during your visit by utilizing the complimentary internet access available.Parking is accessible, supplied by the hotel for guests who arrive by car. The hotel is completely smoke-free. Snack vending machines operate around the clock, providing you with easy access to treats regardless of the hour.

The hotel is only a five-minute walk from the JR station, and there are bus stops to Kamikochi and Hakuba nearby.
The hotel looks like a converted commercial meeting place. The reception desk is located on the second floor. The staff is very polite and introduces the hotel facilities when checking in. There is a bathhouse on the tenth floor. Remember to use the elevator on the left to go to the tenth floor. There are all-you-can-eat ice bars on the second and tenth floors. Dessert.
The room is spacious, the bathroom is slightly soundproofed, and you can hear conversations in the next room.
Overall feeling good

Great location, super convenient to train station. In addition, there is a nearby 7-11 which allows for quick purchase of essential supplies. The hotel provides washer and dryer for guest to clean their clothes which is good at affordable pricing. Only downside is the room is really small but that is the norm is Tokyo, will get used to it.

I stayed because I wanted to spend a little luxurious. I didn't experience a well-reputed meal because I stayed without meals, but I was still able to spend a satisfying time. I don't know if it was thanks to the request, but I was able to go to the room on the upper floor and the view was good and comfortable. The room was large and I felt that it would have been nice to have a day to spend consecutive nights indoors. The public bath was also able to relax because I was able to enter at the timing when I was free to see how crowded it was. It doesn't feel too wide, so it may be difficult when there are many users ... The explanation at check-in is minimal, concise and easy to understand, and it will be given on paper, so check slowly in the room. I was grateful to be able to do it. As a person who doesn't have the opportunity to use the hotel on a daily basis, there was nothing to worry about, but rather I had a comfortable and good time. I am full of gratitude. It is a hotel that I want to use again.

The public bath is not very big, but it was very clean and nice. The room is still new and very clean, so I think it was good to use it. Also, even though I was late for check-in, I felt comfortable with a very good response.
There were many kinds of breakfast, and it was so big that I could not eat all kinds. In addition, we thought that we wanted to use if there was opportunity.

Very Good
TTinyungI have nothing but wonderful things to say about Dot hostel. It's such a beautiful place with great vibes. Beautiful as in the old Japanese style building, and the decor inside, and the entire experience. The people working there are reeeaaally nice too!! It's also very close to zenkoji temple which is the biggest sight in Nagano city. There's also free breakfast! Will 100% come back and recommend to all coming travelers!!
Thank you for your help during the Obuse Marathon. It was a short walk from Nagano Station, and the front desk was calm, spacious, and well-designed, and the staff were polite and attentive, alleviating my anxiety during my trip. There is a 7-Eleven nearby. Although facing the road, the sound of cars did not echo into the room. On the day of the marathon race, we were able to quickly store our luggage and check out in the middle of the night, which was very helpful. The room was clean and quiet, and the view overlooking Nagano Station was great, allowing me to rest.
効効三 徳The shukubo kyoi is an inn located in togakushi, Nagano City, Nagano Prefecture. It was originally built in 1815 at the temple's shukubo and is designated as a registered tangible cultural property of Japan. This day I visited Togakushi Jinja shrine on October 20, 2020. From there, I came to the shukubo. It is red leaves. It is heavy entrance. There is a visiting place when entering. This time, I was able to stay cheaply because I used the GOTO campaign. Check in and go to the room. This time it is a Japanese room. The old beam is bare. I was going to ask for a room with a toilet, but I was mistaken for a room without a toilet (sweat;) I decided to go to dinner, but I was afraid to hit my head on the stairs. The dinner hall is a visitor. The menu of this day. Fish Wheel baking. Yuba pot. Sakura. And Togakusoba. Togakusoba is one of the three major Japanese soba. It was properly served with ”bochiri”. Dessert is fruit. The next morning, I participate in Shinto rituals. This room is western style with lighting and it is interesting to be eclectic in the Japanese and Western style. Shinto ritual was photography OK. This is rare because it is impossible to shoot. Shinto rituals are over and go to the restaurant in the breakfast hall. The menu is like this. After the meal, I looked for a souvenir corner. Check out and went ahead. It is a heavy building. Only that is, the facilities are old. It was a fatal mistake that there was no toilet in the room. I should have checked better. The meal was very delicious and the volume was just good. The morning work is also pleasant. I was lucky to stay at a cheap price on goto travel.
GGuest UserAvailable on weekdays in early June 2022 during the exhibition period. In order to attend in the morning, it is necessary to stay at Zenkoji Shukubo, but there is no room for one person. I had no choice. The normal accommodation fee is 6000 to 8000 yen. Is it because of one room for one person? 18000 yen with breakfast. It exceeded 21,000 yen with the Shojin cuisine for dinner. The vegetarian cuisine is poor. The tempura is soggy. Boiled food that doesn't taste like dashi at all, and soba salad with a bad dressing. The presentation is just like that, but what was delicious was the ready-made sesame tofu and the barely warm kenchin soup. On top of that, the husband at the next table was drinking alcohol, so I ordered the rice to come later, but I forgot about it and put it in front of him once. Popped on my table. Alas, I raised a voice of protest, but the young woman who served me went without knowing. Because she wasn't wearing a work uniform. It may not have been a full-time staff, but the treatment is the worst. There was also corona, and the season was disgusting. It seems that the temple lodging is different from an ordinary inn as a cover, and I got angry. The food tastes bad and if you pay 3000yen for this quality, you'd be better off eating out. Although the room was spacious and comfortable. In order to participate in the morning affairs, we have to meet in front of the entrance at 4:00 in the morning. The walls were thin and I could hear the conversation next door and the sound of the TV, so I couldn't fall asleep easily 💦 Even though we gathered at 4:00 in the morning, the arrangement of the prayer content of the person who accepted from outside was bad. It seems that the exchange on the phone the day before was not reflected. There is a waiting time of about 30 minutes. As a result, it affected the seating of the breakfast. The guide was very attentive. It must be a problem on the lodging side. The young shortcut who was in charge of check-in was also very pleasant. It was very disappointing. Please use it without expecting anything 💦 I would like you to study again at the minimum. I'm a sole proprietor myself, so this might be a concern. Shukubo is a temple, so if you don't think it has anything to do with hospitality. Isn't it against the teachings of Buddha? It was a pity that Mr. Zenkoji's rank was lowered. No repeats.
TTaroKumaraPotatoIt's not bad, but it's not outstanding either, so I gave it this rating. The Japanese-style room we stayed in was renovated and beautiful, unlike the one advertised. I was surprised that the Japanese-style room also had wired LAN. Speaking of greed, I'm surprised that there isn't a large public bath of this size, and I think it would be a good facility to have one. I didn't eat breakfast because it wasn't a buffet. Also, it costs 3,600 yen per night for just a futon for children over 4 years old, so it's quite expensive. At the very least, I think the fees should be divided between infants, elementary school students, and junior high school students.
Llionheart61Very comfortable 3 star hotel with 6 minute walk from the Jr. Station. The manager went to the extra effort of helping me with catching busses and even hand wrote options on a separate paper for me. Getting back from dinner I had a gift bag in my room with a keepsake from the hotel. The room had a fridge, kettle and a dressing gown and slippers for the onsen The onsen was clean and well appointed on the second floor with a sauna, hot bath and cold dipping bath. Very invigorating after a day's skiing! The Japanese breakfast the next day was delicious and with plenty of variety. Sadly the coffee was not to my liking and could be improved. Value hotel and customer service was what you would find in a hotel costing much more. For a great sleep ask for a floor up high..8th..and I certainly appreciated the view and the option to open the window for fresh air by which to sleep. Highly recommended......
KkeikoiijimaI didn't expect the hotel because the word of mouth was severely criticized, but contrary to my expectation, I had a very satisfying stay. It was a pretty hard distance to walk to Zenko Ji Temple, and the hotel parking lot was narrow, and it was hard to stop the car, but the room was larger than I imagined, clean, and considering the price, enough I was able to stay without complaint.
WWenyunyanVery close to JR and long-distance bus stops, it is very convenient to travel. Short-term travel, the most important thing is this.
Arrived at the hotel around 10 o'clock in the morning, and you can stay in the room unexpectedly! This is very unexpected and happy. Other accommodations in Japan have not encountered check-in before 2 pm.
Breakfast is very simple, you can not eat.
BBZimm08Hotel Abest is located right by the train station. I picked this hotel because of the location and price, it was on the cheaper side. The staff at the front desk were helpful and check in/out was a breeze. The rooms were on the smaller side, the bathroom was tiny, but the bed was comfortable and the room was clean. They have breakfast served on the 10th floor, great views with a decent variety of food, I really enjoyed the breakfast. Not their fault, but was noisy at night, a shop nearby played a tune on repeat which was annoying. Other then that, no issues and perfect for a one night stay.
