The room, no, the warehouse is small, but the price is cheap.

I think it's the cheapest accommodation in Manhattan. I don't know about the other rooms, but it was great that it was a private room. However, the ceiling is open and sound travels quickly, so you need to be careful about the noise. It's great for the price, so I recommend it! I'll definitely stay here again if I'm traveling alone next time.

Great location, design and concept. If you want to stay in downtown Manhattan for 1/3 for the price of a hotel and meet cool solo travelers this is the place to go! The design reminded me of the roaring 20s era in NYC. Would definitely stay here again

If you value a decent (not even need to be good) night's sleep, I strongly recommend looking elsewhere. Despite the advertised rule of no noise between 9 pm and 9 am, this policy is NOT enforced. The cleaner came to 'clean' very loudly before 8am, slamming doors, trash bins, and speaking loudly for about half an hour, despite guests' attempts to quiet her. The $100 fine for making noise is merely for show. Guests were talking loudly through the night, laat night in particular it was between 3-4 AM, without any repercussions. The noise level here makes it impossible to get any rest. Additionally, the check-in process was confusing, and there was no one at the front desk. Despite calling multiple times, no one answered. After waiting for 20 minutes, a staff member who had been chatting in the lobby finally assisted me. It was frustrating to realize that he had seen me waiting but chose to ignore me until it suited him. The website falsely claims that toiletries are included, which they are not. Additionally, the internet password provided was incorrect. Overall, the staff's disrespectful behavior and the high noise level make this place not worth the price. Avoid staying here if you want any sleep

It was clear that we couldn't expect much and we were prepared for it. Everything looked fine on the internet. The staff are really friendly. When I arrived, I had to laugh, it just couldn't be true. I'm small, but still too big for the bed, and the rubbish from the person before me was still under the bed. It's stuffy, loud, you hear everything from your neighbours and from the bathroom. The bathroom was a disaster, the tiles are held in place with gaffer tape, some of the showers don't get warm, the sinks are a disaster! The showers hadn't been cleaned all week, there was still chewing gum in them the whole week. The breakfast is a joke! Save yourself the trouble, I've changed hotels.

Let's start right away with the images of the various hotel booking sites that give you hope but it's just appearance and they will rip you off, in fact the terrace and the common room are beautiful and make a scene but the rooms are not rooms they are cabins or rather LITERS open at the top and separated by thin wooden panels, they are tiny! No wardrobe and the 2 of us couldn't open our suitcases at the same time (no unfortunately I'm not joking!) they are really LITERS! You will hear all the possible noises, from the street to people snoring or at night going out to go to the bathroom and opening and closing the door from cell phone calls to the alarm clocks of the other tenants. - The cabins are never made up for the entire duration of the stay (ours 10 days), same thing for towels/bathrobes, the rooms are dirty as soon as you arrive. - The bathrooms are old but at least they are cleaned every day (shared bathrooms like in a hostel) - The staff is polite and the location is excellent but after the second night where you will sleep little this will not be enough. - They will give you earplugs as soon as you arrive as a welcome (no, I'm not joking unfortunately!) and from there you will understand why. - If on the day of departure you want to have your bags stored because maybe your flight is after 11 (check-out time) they ask you for 10 dollars per bag.

И этим все сказано. Малый размер комнат меня не смутило. Но перегородки не до потолка и тонкость перегородок создавали эффект присутствия. Т.е. все шумы были слышны большую часть ночи. Ужасное место. Но метро рядом.

I stayed in a single room on a solo trip. I thought it would be okay if it was small because I was only going to sleep there, but I was surprised at how small it was, and I couldn't open my suitcase without lifting the bed. The room didn't even have walls that reached the ceiling, so it was like a private room in an internet cafe, and all the noise could be heard, including voices, horns, and even the sound of people peeing in the toilet, which was unpleasant. The area was on the edge of Chinatown, so it wasn't an attractive area. It was good that Times Square and other places were within walking distance.

Took a last minute 2-day swing into the city and found this little place while web surfing on the train ride over. Wasn't an area of the city I was real familiar with, but it was pretty easy to get to and find. 1st floor walk-up, so you must be able-bodied. It's a little pricey compared to other Manhattan hostels with similar amenities, but the location and style are top-notch. Arrived around 8:30. The girl at the desk was not particularly welcoming, but was professional and efficient. Bored-looking Europeans sat in the lounge area, clearly unaware that New York friggen-city was right outside. I got a basic private room, which is a 30-sq/ft cubicle with a 5'8" bed, an end table, light bulb, and wall hook. A towel and pack of earplugs were placed on the bed. It was clearly a stylized homage to the building (and neighborhood's) history as a collection of flophouses for semi-homeless drifters. I thought it was super-cool. Not for light sleepers, as you can hear just about everything, though the earplugs helped a little. Also, if you're tall, don't get the basic 'cabin' with their short beds. I think the bunks are a standard length. The bed was otherwise comfortable, and the temperature was good. Despite the age of the building, everything seemed well-kept and clean. Shampoo/soap/conditioner provided in dispensers within each rain shower. Water temperature got real cold on me for a minute or two, but I just stepped out of the way and it warmed back up. Coming and going, as well as check-out, was a breeze. There's a cafe/bar on the ground floor. Good breakfast (10%off and free coffee for guests) with friendly service. Chinatown to the South, Soho to the West, Greenwich Village and NYU to the Northwest. New Museum for contemporary art right across the street. Bowery Ballroom one block down. Great area to walk around. Close to several subway lines. Would definitely stay here again with the same budget/location needs. Also-never realized there was a nice roof deck- definitely would have checked it out.
