The location was good assuming you had a car but do not rely on public transport. The hotel--motel was clean and well decorated and pool area well kept. The problems started with reception who were not very well informed. Could not give information on bus services and even gave wrong location for the bus stop. Before leaving I wanted to check in to two airlines. One receptionist said no problem but when I went to do it on the day another receptionist said it was against hotels privacy policy??? I then had to find a business centre and pay $40 to do ckeck in. Food / Bar was adequate but not available Sat--Mon. We were there for a week and on two days were advised there would be no room service. On a third day we had to request fresh towels as the room had been missed. I do not think the bed linen was changed during our whole stay. The biggest issue I had was with the finance department. ON settling the final account I decided to pay fully in cash and not use the debit card they had taken on arrival. On return home I found two debits on my card one for £270 which had no relation to any services. The second for £493 which was for the total bill paid for in cash. after telephone calls not responded to and four e-mails I eventually got the accountant to credit the money back a month later. still awaiting a call from Mary the manager to explain why they had taken money from my account without athorisation

The environment, location, facilities, including the front desk service are very good, especially the environment, but today's dinner experience is really disappointing. First of all, after we ordered the meal, the first pre-feast was quite fast, but we did not prepare a plate for us. We beckoned to send it over after we called, and there was no such normal restaurant error of due apology, and secondly, after serving the pre-order, we waited for nearly 30 minutes. No dish came up, no one explained, the restaurant manager skipped us several times on the tour, there were not many people in the restaurant at that time, (there were two of us who were Asian faces) was not a peak meal time, waiting for us to call a waiter over, The waiter (the Indian woman) said very bluntly, I think they're doing, and then left. Too angry, when we went to the front desk to complain, their manager appeared in front of us like a wind (before turning a blind eye to us in the restaurant), and apologized and said that the meal was delivered to the room. Exemption from dinner costs). Apologizing for the apology, the attitude is not sincere at all, the inferior service attitude of the evening restaurant directly lowers the level of Hyatt, this kind of restaurant (hotel) that sees people ordering, directly pulls black. [Weak] [weak] [weak]. (Breakfast service was good, we asked and learned that dinner was not the same team).

It should be a revised version of a car hotel. The waiter was a very timid boy. He told the waiter to put his own fruit. He also brought me a refrigerator. (Many things in hotel refrigerators are charged. (If you put out the drink, you will be charged within 69 seconds)

Staying at this property is really a very special experience. You are made to feel right at home from the moment you check in. To a person, everyone you encounter is welcoming and committed to making sure you have a wonderful visit. Our room was very cozy and the bathroom, which appeared to have been recently updated, was beautiful. There is a lovely courtyard where we sat in the afternoon relaxing in the sun and listening to the trickling water of the fountain. The bar at night, though small, is still a great place to sit and absorb the ambiance. Overall a relaxing memorable get away which will make us long to return.

The room is small and complete, this is the first hotel in the town, not open on weekends, so good luck. Twin room, the bed is a bit small, but the baby sleeps in a small bed with a sofa, just fine. Breakfast is delivered by the hotel, but the tip is not rich, but the miscellaneous fruits are pineapple, cantaloupe, cucumber and so on. Next to the hotel is lush, smelling a scent, can not help but buy. Carmel Beach should be visible across the bed.

Outstanding
Very quite and relaxing stay. The staff members were outstanding and the facility was very well kept and clean! Excellent location central to most everything.
QQINGThe service is very good and it is worth staying for one more night. The hotel has a parking lot and the breakfast is very good. There may be elk on the way to the hotel. In short, it is a hotel worth remembering.
GGuest UserThis is a wonderful hotel to stay in because it's centrally located. The beach is not very far, within 20 minutes (or so) walk. Because the hotel is centrally located, we did not have to drive anywhere once we parked at the hotel, but instead walked everywhere. The guestroom was beautifully decorated and very clean, and had nice amenities. The breakfasts were delicious, and the wine and cheese hour offered in the afternoons was relaxing and a good pick-me-up after a long day exploring Carmel. And last, but not least, Betty (who checked us in) and Miranda (each one was at the front desk at various times) are the bestest of the best when it comes to answering any questions you may have, and making sure you have a pleasant stay. They have been nothing but sweet, gracious, patient, and accommodating. The hotel AND staff? 10 out of 10. I might also add that if you choose to have your breakfast and/or your wine and cheese away from the room provided, there is a sun deck which has patio tables and chairs in which you can enjoy your comestibles outdoors.
GGuest UserWe booked this place hoping it would be one of the many, very smart independent motels you find throughout CA. Check in was painless and easy. We got a great patio as we had paid for a sea view but it did mean we were around the side of the hotel. The patio doors were surprisingly insecure - held by a small bolt. The room itself was surprisingly small (two double beds), particularly with the fireplace in one corner. The lack of a desk was a shame and we had hoped the room would be smarter/have more character. The bathroom was also relatively small. The beds were very comfortable. Remarkably when we got ready for bed we discovered that the room has no AC - not even a fan! We called reception and they said all the free-standing fans had been given out for the night. We managed to get one our second night but couldn't believe the lack of AC in California - the hotel is older but not so old as to not offer this. The pool was well located and of a good size. However, having been advertised as heated to 80 degrees I would say it was a lot colder. The pool hours (9am-7pm) were annoyingly restrictive, but not uncommon for outdoor pools and explained by the fact that some hotel rooms were right outside it! Breakfast was very poor - a grab and go bag with water, a piece of fruit and an unappetising, dry pastry - which forced us to go elsewhere. Overall given the range of choice and competition in Carmel, and the reasonably high room rate, we were left disappointed. The hotel lacked the character we had hoped for and needs to up its game where AC and breakfast are concerned. We would look to stay somewhere else if we returned to Carmel.
HHunter YorkIt was a nice hotel the pool is heated. The breakfast says continental but it really just pastries, fruit and juice but it was good still. Be aware there is no microwave at least not in the room we got and the doors use old fashioned keys instead of key cards and have to locked by pushing the button on the inside when leaving a mistake we didn't realize till later. Otherwise its a nice hotel and a short walk into town.
王王小佳7881The room is not big, but it was a good night to stay in a motel on Highway 1. The room is not big but it is warm, the room has all the necessary facilities, and it is quiet at night, 5 minutes drive from the town. 10 minutes by the sea, very convenient to have a car, parking is free
In addition, you can apply for a room on the first floor, which makes it more convenient to take your luggage
Breakfast is an American breakfast, which is clean and warm as a whole, good value for money
YYUEThe biggest advantage is that the room is big and the bed is very comfortable, but the room facilities are like an old house in the 80s. Breakfast is only a simple breakfast such as coffee and yoghurt. Even the eggs are not likely to be expensive. Carmel is worth more than two hundred dollars.
GGuest UserOk, Carmel by the Sea is an expensive place to stay. It's a neat little town with lots of boutique stores and neat downtown activities. It is super close to the Pacific Grove Gate entrance to 17 mile tour. The hotel room was pretty clean and had a fresh smell when entering. Upon closer looking there were some little nit picky items that could be easily fixed up. The room is extremely dark! There needs to be more light! Please put a light in the corner by the TV and change the damned light bulbs to LED 100w equiv bulbs. This would make a huge difference. The washroom was very dated and had broken tiles near the tub. The tiles along the wall were clearly very dirty and uncleaned. The toilet was offset which was strange to sit on because you are angled toward the wall??? The shower leaks onto the floor when showering which is the likely cause of broken tiles. The parking is free which is part of the saving grace but there are no elevators and if you get ”lucky” like us you are shoved back into the rooms above the garage which was supposed to be nicer. The hair dryer didn't work. Only blows cold air which pissed off the wife. I'm sure if we had been staying there for more than 1 night, that would be rectified. The biggest issue for me was NO AC in room!!! This is the first hotel that I've ever stayed in that doesn't have in room AC. When I couldn't find it, I asked at the front desk. We were told that only 1 hotel in the town had AC and it was priced very high. In fact we found 6 hotels in the area that have in room AC and not much higher price than this one. That being said... There are floor fans in the rooms and the temperature by the sea is very cool at night. We opened the window and turned on the fan and were actually quite comfortable while sleeping and I'm a die hard 65 deg sleeping person. The main room is very clean and obviously updated. The bed is super comfy and the pillows are great. The room really needs a microwave! There is a nice sized fridge but no microwave. I would likely try a different hotel the next time if I could find something for similar money simply because of the stairs and being shoved into the back rooms which I suspect are overflow for over booking. The TV in room is bad. Mostly because they use these crappy universal remote that makes it impossible to view the guide to select channels. Listen if you have to put 2 remotes in the room to be able to take full advantage of whatever box you are controlling, then do it! I'd rather have instructions to run remotes than to have a crappy simple remote that doesn't give you full options! The breakfast was as expected for continental breakfast. Eggs were hot and good but bacon was undercooked but seems to be the norm in the US. I prefer crispy bacon and if there was a microwave in the room, I would have thrown it in there to crisp it up. Minor complaint
