Relais le Chevalier

The hotel's central location in the northeast end of Riga's old town made it very easy to explore the city. We were close to the city's main attractions and were within a 5 minute walk to the Cat House, Freedom Monument, Riga/Dome Cathedral, and St. Peter's Cathedral. We booked the room without a window. It was very nicely decorated and the bed was really comfortable. The room was quiet but a bit stuffy and we felt the AC wasn't strong enough. We felt there was still good value with this room though because of the price and there was a lot packed into it. There was a Nespresso coffee machine, tea station, cute tea cups and a large bathroom with a very nice shower. We appreciated that a wall adapter was provided and plugged in that worked with North American style plugs. The hotel is in a building from the 17th century and has a very nice looking mirrored atrium. There is a fun story where a horse threw a shoe, hit this building and stuck so the owner kept it because he felt it was good luck. The hotel has a bar in the lobby as well as a small shop. The highlight of this hotel was the breakfast which had a great view of the city from the window and a very good breakfast. The breakfast had a small buffet with cheese, smoked fish, fresh bread and some other nice choices. We enjoyed the variety of drinks like the rhubarb lemonade and hot chocolate. You can order one hot item which included.

Great customs service. The equipments are very clean and more than enough for regular people.

An extraordinary building ; one of the most architecturally impressive hotels in which I can remember staying, with wonderfully helpful staff and a location that can not be bettered -- with a commendable breakfast. Five stars ! But then . . . Beautifully configured and equipped rooms but, constraints on urban buildings being what they are, and the architects having elected a stunning central skylit air- and light-well, our room, at least, had no window. Where was one to be placed, after all ? The air-conditioning worked well, but truly fresh air was not available. The housekeeping staff had neglected the bathroom attached to the room that we used. Hair, a cotton-tipped applicator stick, and -- simply -- dirt were on the tiles. This can happen. It was very different from the rest of the experience of the stay. But there it was. Have a look around when you check in. Ask for a repeat cleaning of your room if you think one is necessary. Enjoy your stay.

Wonderful, luxurious and quiet hotel in the middle of old town. Comfy beds, spacious rooms and close to everything. Wonderful roof top breakfast. All at a affordable price! Nice staff, lovely interior, large bathroom. I could go on forever. Highly recommended!!

The design of the hotel is lovely; modern but in-keeping with the city. The location is perfect, and if you get a room overlooking the square it's a great spot. Breakfast was very good too. The only downside was the noise made by the air con in the room, despite it being quite ineffective. Overall though a really beautiful hotel, well-located and great value for money. A really good base to explore the old town.

Nice hotel in the Old Town. I arrived on thr train from Vilnius around 11:30am and the lady/ladies on reception checked me in [obviously this was discretionary and midweek]. I only intended dump my bag, so it was appreciated. Room was clean and well designed. Breakfast was OK- staff not too enthused. Would recommend based on reception staff and location.

Great location, modern and well decorated facilities. Rooms are confortable and all very clean. Delicious breakfast. Kind, helpful and very professional staff. Good cost-benefit. We really appreciared our stay at Relais Chevalier.

the room was great and the location of the hotel is awesome. right on a main square in Old Town Riga. The staff was helpful and knowledgeable. Execellent breakfast . Could have used a tad more a/c (I think it was regulated), but we would definitely stay here again. We had the blue room in the pictures on the website - looks out over the square and is very comfortable. Great value !
