Really nice hotel, quite Chinese style . Clean and calm. Not too far from old town. breakfast is written in Chinese , so have a guess sometimes :)

I stayed in the suite at this hotel. It was a great and very comfortable stay. Everything about the suite was elegant and built for comfort. The hotel has a restaurant that makes delicious Yunnan inspired dishes. The yak stew and the potato dishes were especially good. The staff was nice and friendly although language presented a barrier. (Thankfully there are translation apps.). The pool was a little weird though. It's presented more like a pond in the middle of the hotel rooms. There seems to be only one access point to the pool and there is zero seating. Its rimmed by plants and trees. Very strange. But thats the only criticism of the hotel. Everything else meets and exceeds expectations of a hotel. And its within walking distance of the old town.

The hotel is located 1 km from the ancient town and is a 10-15 minute drive to the train station. The room was comfortable, and the water pressure and heater worked perfectly. The Wi-Fi was very stable as well. (For foreigners, do bear in mind, if you connect to hotel wifi, you would need to connect to VPN in order to use WhatsApp, IG or Youtube) This is a 9-year-old property, so there are some flaws that can be improved, but that is understandable. My only feedback is about the F&B restaurant; they only have one all-day dining option. Breakfast was alright, with more of a local selection. I stayed for two nights. On the first day, there was staff available to help me and serve my cafe latte order. However, on the second day, I did not see any staff on standby, so I had to make my own cafe latte (I had to froth the milk), which I found awkward. I wish the staff were more well trained, but I understand it is low season and the hotel probably hired part-timers for service. The best highlight of my stay was meeting a lady named Rose He, who is part of the guest services team (i think). She made recommendations on where to go and even found us a local driver to take us around. She was extremely kind and polite. We exchanged WeChat information, and she texted me when the weather turned cold or rainy. She also helped us to arrange complimentary transportation to the train station. It felt personalized. Shangri-La, if you are reading this, I believe she deserves a token of appreciation. She is the true star and a great example of “hospitality.” Overall, we were happy with our stay. Thank you.

Hotel Indigo has a spectacular bird eye view of the Shangrila town, the room has the view of the temple in the Dukezong Ancient Town. The hotel is very new and the staffs are super friendly, especially Cyrus Pan who did helped me a lot of some miscellaneous things though the stay just only 1 night. Room is clean and spacious. The restaurant served amazing food with much comfortable environment than restaurant in the ancient town. I can say a hotel must stay in Shangrila and definitely I would return if visit to Shangrila again.

I was worried about the room being dirty and messy before, but I didn't expect it to be very clean and the bedding was very comfortable. The room and bathroom are separate, and there are disposable toilet seats. The camp has many small details, it's beautiful, beautiful, beautiful! ! ! The waiter sister and brother are very polite, and they help with the luggage when picking up and dropping off. The boss lady is also very generous and polite! The breakfast is very exquisite, and the scallion oil noodles are delicious👍 I love this place so much. After climbing the snow mountain this time, I will bring my family here next time!

The front desk staff are very friendly n helpful. The hotel lobby has the feel of ******* culture , nice & grand . The hotel is located in the ancient town, convenient to walk around to shops n many restaurants . The hotel help us to get their day off Driver to drive us around (a half day trip )with reasonal price . The room is clean n comfortable. with fresh fruits provided too . During night time. (9pm) The staff served the milk to the room too.

The hotel is located near the ancient city, and it is very convenient to get to the ancient city. The hotel is antique and beautiful in ******* style. There is a heater in the room, which will be turned on in advance. There will be a little reaction after arrival. The room is oxygen-supplied and it is very comfortable in the room. Because my mother had severe altitude sickness in the early morning, I contacted the hotel housekeeper and came to the room as soon as possible to drive his own car to help me send my mother to the hospital. I was very touched by the various assistance in the hospital. After returning from the hospital, they sent us to the room. In the morning, they saw that we did not get up and left breakfast for us, and helped to send it to the room. It was very heartwarming. Thank you 🙏🙏, the housekeeper also sent fruit snacks. The service was very good.

Despite the lack of greenery or floral scenery, our stay at the antique independent “bungalow” was made special by the warm welcome and excellent service from the manager, staff, and especially our housekeeper, ZhangLei! He was consistently attentive and caring towards us throughout our stay. Zhanglei also went above and beyond by protecting us from potential scammers, demonstrating his commitment to our safety and comfort throughout our stay. The Alpine Resort Hotel is particularly good. The service is very considerate. The room is upgraded to a suite for free. It is clean and sanitary. The space is large. Looking at the Napa Sea, the scenery is wide and the mood is open. It is the first choice for vacation. I strongly like the following small details: 1. Two old people and one child were traveling, and the front desk housekeeper, Mr. Duoji, gave them considerate care. The oxygen bottle JD.com could not deliver to the hotel, so Mr. Duoji personally drove to the urban distribution point to pick it up and deliver it to the room. After leaving the hotel at the end of the trip, Mr. Duoji drove the two old men and one child to their destination in the city. There are also all kinds of meticulous care. I sincerely thank Teacher Duoji for providing comfort and peace of mind during our trip! 2. The hotel has bicycles for free use. After overcoming the high altitude sickness, you can ride freely on the road around the lake and feel comfortable physically and mentally! 3. The hotel is right on the edge of the Napa Sea. It is very convenient to experience the Napa Sea. You can ride horses and see the grasslands (there is no sea in the dry season). You don’t need to go to the official scenic spot entrance. 4. The hotel is not far from the city, about 20 minutes by car. The facilities are very good, and the all-day stay in the hotel is very good. The yak hotpot is very good, and the portion is large enough for two adults and one child to eat it all. The quality of the food is also very high, for vacation purposes, or if you want to enjoy a comfortable cruise in the Napa Sea. recommend. 5. Although there is no sea in the Napa Sea in winter, the comfort of traveling during off-peak hours and enjoying the sky-high grasslands is really not too good. The hotel has floor heating and oxygen supply, and can adapt well to high altitude. The overall experience is very good. I will consider Gaoshan Villa next time I come to Shangri-La.

Our stay at snow mountain ice spring was amazing! We only spent 2 nights here and our entire itinerary was well organised by Ba San who helped us view all the major Bala Gezong scenic areas. Our transportation to and from the hotel and Shangrila station was also organised by the hotel staff, leading to a very well planned stay. The accommodation itself is huge and very comfortable and cosy, and the breakfast provided was so grand. Complimentary tickets for some activities was also provided, making this booking so value for money. While this hotel may be pricier than others, it is definitely very worth it and in our opinion, the only option you should consider for the Bala Gezong area.
