We absolutely loved our stay at 山古民宿 Shangu Homestay. The room was spacious, well presented in ******* style, and kept wonderfully warm with underfloor heating. The window-side lounge area was so cozy that we didn’t want to leave after three nights. Dinner was a highlight—the ******* hotpot was delicious, with fresh yak meat, vegetables, and noodles. Breakfast included fruit, ******* butter tea, and tsampa, giving us a real taste of local traditions. The host was incredibly welcoming and shared fascinating stories about ******* culture, nomadic life, and even how to make incense. During our stay, it snowed heavily, and our children had a fantastic time playing in the snow with the host. It was not just accommodation, but a cultural journey filled with warmth and unforgettable memories. The room is a perfect blend of Tibetan style and modern decoration, with both ethnic characteristics and comfortable living. The whole is clean and tidy, and the sound insulation is also done well in the Tibetan area B&B. I will choose here next time I come to Xiahe!

My trip to Gannan ended, and I've been home for two days now. I have to add this belated review today. Location and Natural Beauty The hotel is nestled on the edge of the Sangke Grassland, offering vast grassland scenery as soon as you step out the door. On our check-in day, the welcoming owner offered to take us for a walk by a nearby stream. Verdant grass lay beneath our feet, dotted with wildflowers, the stream gurgled, and in the distance, cattle and sheep strolled leisurely. It felt like stepping into an untouched natural landscape. This immersive experience, detached from the hustle and bustle of life, was one of the greatest surprises of the trip. Service is in the Details What touched us most was the owner's thoughtfulness. Due to our tight schedule the next day, we planned to depart at 7:30 AM. We had planned to skip breakfast, but the owner specifically inquired about our departure time the night before and prepared a hot breakfast the next morning. Bread, milk tea, and side dishes...the simple fare held the most simple warmth, making us feel like family on a cool morning. This selfless enthusiasm far exceeds expectations of ”hotel service.” Summary This isn't just a hotel offering accommodations; it's a warm, grassland inn. If you're looking for a place on the Sangke Grasslands where you can experience local hospitality, this is definitely worth choosing. The owner's sincerity and the beautiful grassland scenery will be the most unforgettable moments of your trip.

Good place: the room is well designed, dry and wet separation, very clean, there is essential oil aroma, the window is the river view, the mattress pillows make me sleep very comfortable, the hotel has its own parking lot, suitable for self-driving. The service response was also very fast and a few more bottles of mineral water were delivered immediately. Insufficient can be improved: 1. There is no parent-child room suitable for a family of three. We have a 1.3 meter twin bed. One bed sleeps 2 people slightly. It is too lonely to open another room. (Going out and getting used to the parent-child room knows everything) 2. There is no freshly ground coffee machine for breakfast. It is obviously used in the western restaurant on the 2nd floor. Breakfast does not provide freshly ground coffee, which is instant! ! Either don't provide coffee, instant coffee is not healthy at the end of the fat plant. Moreover, the 51 holiday price is 600+. I am in Kaiyuan, Xi'an, at the same price during the holiday period. There is freshly ground coffee and a minibar. I understand that the price can be raised near the scenic spot on holidays, but I hope that the peer-to-peer service can also be improved. 3. There is no small refrigerator in the room. There is an old Xiahe yogurt not far from the hotel. Gannan played all the way. I saw Xiahe selling yak fresh milk. I bought it and found that the hotel did not have a small refrigerator. Fortunately, it is not hot outside this season. You can store it in the car. In the summer season, tourists want to taste local fresh milk yogurt and store without a refrigerator, it will be more distressing. Overall, I lived in a good five-star praise. It is also the best hotel I have ever stayed in in Gannan. The above suggestions can be improved. I believe it can become the first accommodation recommendation in Xiahe County.
