Shengshan is definitely not an easy place to get to, but staying at Woqu honestly made it so worth it! It’s very guesthouse style, so hosts have a full menu that they can cook for you if you don’t want to go into town for the restaurants. They were all so warm and welcoming, even though my Chinese isn’t very good. Even though they had a larger group of 21 staying at the same time as me, they still checked in on me to make sure that I was comfortable and that I could still have my privacy. They also offered me the number of a driver who was very readily available to take me wherever I wanted. The room was beautiful, with a wonderful view of the ocean. It would be really romantic for a couples’ getaway. I hope that more people come to Shengshan and Gouqi, even for just a day, just so they can experience some of the island-style warmth and hospitality that Woqu had to offer. The host family was very warm and thoughtful. I arrived late that night. I waited until we packed up and settled down before resting. I had breakfast again in the morning. Everything was responsive. I booked a table of seafood. I really can’t wait to do it for us all. The four-person square table was set on two floors... It was also hard work. The boss who didn't finish it helped to put the refrigerator in the freezer and had another meal the next day. The shrimp meat is solid and sweet; the shuttle crab is fat and delicious; the fresh squid and yellow croaker are really open to the eye; There are mussels, clams, pippi shrimp, clam white... I can't remember it. Although I can't see the sunrise, I can't say the feeling of seeing the moon. Before I went, I was depressed for a long time, and my life and work were already crushing me. This time it was really my journey of redemption. Life except for the immediate and, there is really a distance for me...

This is the best guesthouse I've ever stayed in. They provide breakfast, including a bowl of plain noodles and some side dishes. Upon check-in, you receive disposable toiletries. The room is almost identical to the pictures – very clean and tidy. The kettle and hairdryer aren't cheap brands, and the shower gel and conditioner smell lovely. The guesthouse owns several villas; check-in and breakfast are in a separate building. Parking within the complex isn't too tight. They offer a complimentary pick-up or drop-off service to/from Putuoshan Airport/Wugongzhi Pier once on check-in day and once on check-out day. The business van has a blue wrap. The only surprise was that our driver was a lovely, gentle woman wearing a straw hat.

Environment: Facing the sea, opening your eyes is the sea, the land people are ecstatic. Hygienic: Hygiene is very good, clean and odorless, and the children are also very happy to sleep. Breakfast: Breakfast is good, there are soy milk, fruit, white porridge and various snacks on the island, it is very comfortable to eat, and there is no pressure. Service: There is a dock to pick up the car, and there is a car to pick up the hotel when you get off the boat, which is still very convenient. I accidentally lost the bathtub plug in the room with the bath bag, and the boss did not care about it. Next time you come, the sea is really beautiful.

The room itself was very beautiful, with a big window facing the sea, the view was definitely the highlight of our stay. If that’s what you’re looking for, you’ll enjoy it. However, there were some downsides. The swimming pool shown in the pictures is not suitable for swimming, it’s very small and mainly for small kids, which was disappointing. The breakfast was also very basic; there were no choices, just a fixed plate! Communication was a bit difficult as the host didn’t speak English, and the check-in process was uncomfortable — she took many pictures of our passports and even asked us to help fill in the details. Overall, the view and the room are great, but don’t expect much from the facilities or breakfast.

If you eat near the hotel, there is a seafood stall. The street environment is very good. The hotel room is comfortable and clean. The facilities are complete. Eating, shopping, and taking the bus are all at the door. It is extremely convenient. The breakfast is relatively rich. Soy milk, fried dough sticks, and steamed buns saved the stomach of a northerner (there is almost nothing to eat on the island except seafood, and it is very expensive). The picture was taken in the room opposite the bay. Disadvantages: It looks a bit old and slightly old. The harbor opposite is a fishing pier. It will be a bit noisy in the early morning. The disadvantages do not outweigh the advantages. In addition, I recommend ”M Space Tea Drink” on Chenqianshan Road. The price is definitely more expensive than outside on land, but the quality of the drinks is very good. The owner is also very nice.

Room is rather small. Breakfast is ok. Only problem is a lack of communication from staff. We left our luggage after checkout on the premise that we would collect them after visiting temples in the morning. When we came back, the luggages were missing. Turned out the staff sent the luggages to the pier. As it turned out, we had taken the shuttle from the pier to the hotel to collect our luggages. This breakdown in comms cost us a delay of one hour on a very nice, sunny autumn day which we could use to enjoy the balmy weather.

I stayed in the northernmost room at the end of the corridor. The window was not closed tightly. The north wind was howling at night and the air was leaking. The soundproofing in the room was too bad, too bad, too bad. The bathroom floor was leaking. The two Apple mobile phone chargers were charged fine when I went to bed at night, but they were broken when I woke up in the morning. It was a heavy loss. I stayed in this hotel every time I came to Putuo Mountain (it was under renovation and closed when I came last year). This year, the experience was too bad. I also lost two chargers. I asked the front desk for a bottle of mineral water, and they said I could buy it in the hotel store. I will never stay here again.
