This guesthouse, perched on a hill, seems to be quite popular with influencers, featuring many Instagrammable photo spots. Both the rooms and the restaurant boast floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking the sea, with the rooms directly facing the Rainbow Lighthouse. The restaurant's view is also fantastic; having breakfast with that sea view in the morning is incredibly enjoyable. Unfortunately, the weather on our first day was terrible, with strong winds and heavy rain, which completely dampened my enthusiasm for taking photos. I imagine it would be amazing to visit in the summer! The in-room amenities were a bit lacking; perhaps to maintain a stylish look, there weren't many power outlets. However, the service attitude was absolutely superb—they were always ready to help. They even gave plenty of advice to us fishing novices who were enthusiastic but unskilled. I must also mention the free pick-up and drop-off service, which saved us a good amount of money, considering that taxi fares on Shengshan and Gouqi Islands can be quite expensive. The recommended driver was also very nice. I'd definitely come back in the summer just for this level of service!

I booked this homestay on Ctrip, and the overall feeling is really good. The room is clean and comfortable, and the toiletries are no less than those of a five-star hotel. The environment looks inconspicuous from the outside, but it is quite warm inside. The boss gives people a very kind feeling and helps introduce places to visit around. The meals cooked by the boss's mother are fresh and delicious, and worth recommending.

Shengshan is definitely not an easy place to get to, but staying at Woqu honestly made it so worth it! It’s very guesthouse style, so hosts have a full menu that they can cook for you if you don’t want to go into town for the restaurants. They were all so warm and welcoming, even though my Chinese isn’t very good. Even though they had a larger group of 21 staying at the same time as me, they still checked in on me to make sure that I was comfortable and that I could still have my privacy. They also offered me the number of a driver who was very readily available to take me wherever I wanted. The room was beautiful, with a wonderful view of the ocean. It would be really romantic for a couples’ getaway. I hope that more people come to Shengshan and Gouqi, even for just a day, just so they can experience some of the island-style warmth and hospitality that Woqu had to offer. My friend and I stayed here for 2 nights. We were given a complimentary upgrade to a bigger room upon check in. The hotel staff are very helpful and friendly. We would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to Rose and 阿真 for helping to book the taxi from hotel to ferry wharf using their DiDi app. I was facing issues with the app at that time. Though the hotel does provide complimentary transport to the ferry wharf but it is only 1 fixed schedule which is at 8am and is on a first come first serve basis. It was fully booked on the day we wanted to go to the wharf.

We brought our kids to Gouqi Island for the weekend and stayed at this guesthouse – it was fantastic! The location is super convenient, right by the sea with several free beaches downstairs, perfect for kids. You can enjoy sea views and a sea breeze right from your room. The room was clean and tidy, very comfortable to stay in, and the soundproofing facing the sea was excellent. The owner was incredibly warm and thoughtful. Before we even arrived, they recommended sightseeing routes and helped us arrange a driver. When we got to the guesthouse, they even helped us with our luggage. We could ask them anything we needed, and the whole trip was completely hassle-free.

We had a lovely stay at Sea Cliff Hotel for May 1st break. This is what I liked: - buying ship ticket for May holiday was mission impossible, starting with Tickets App not accepting foreign passports. Hotel helped me with arranging the tickets both ways, even after there were no tickets online (sold out in 20 min) - they arranged a pick us up on arrival and brought us back to the pier on departure - hotel has an excellent sea view location, very silent and sea centric rooms, same for restaurant - everything is modern, I specifically liked ability to share Apple screens on TV in the room, great way to review photos and watch own movies in the evening - good breakfast 8 to 9AM, you can come 8:45 and enjoy a late breakfast as well; we also had late lunch in hotel restaurant on arrival, great food, great to seat outside, flexible working hours (not closed 14-17!), actually I liked their meals more than what we had on the main beach top restaurant, finally reception can brew you a coffee though bit hot - there is 20 min walk from the hotel for a great bay and coffee place to watch sunset, excellent experience and no need to wake up early - hotel was always online on WeChat to address any issues or questions, including how to organize a day, fantastic services! - hotel has own beach area, looks like good to swim, I will consider for summer, water is clean on the island, and this is just couple of hours from Shanghai - small drawback: fishing boats pass by from early morning, this may disturb your morning sleep ;) - other thing the bed is a bit too hard for my back, but where did you see soft beds in China? Overall: highly recommended!

Overall, I was very satisfied with my stay. The hotel was clean and quiet, and the rooms had great views, with sea views right from the balcony. The front desk and butler services were excellent, with prompt communication and shuttle arrangements, which made things much easier. The breakfast selection wasn't particularly extensive, but the food was delicious and replenished promptly. The public areas and pool were great for taking photos, making it a perfect place for a relaxing vacation. I would definitely stay here again.

The accommodation was very comfortable and close to the beach. I would definitely choose this place again if I come back. Getting around is also very convenient; they have cars and electric bikes for rent. There's a food street nearby. The young man in the white shirt at the front desk was super nice and attentive.
