The location is very convenient. One can walk to nearby attractions and the Museum station for transit to and from the airport. The staff were friendly and helpful, and allowed me to check in early and check out one hour late. However, the WIFI is a bit slow and I didn’t get the connection for my computer unless I put it next to the microwave oven near the door, making it a bit inconvenient for me to do my work or conduct online meetings. The breakfast choices were the same during the whole time of my stay. I’m glad that I only stayed for 3 nights.

Twin was very spacious. Travelling for work and was economical to share, including breakfast. Excellent sized room, decent in-room dining options and quality. Beyond expectations for a la carte breakfast, really smooth coffee. Gym was very well equipped, with light refreshments and storage available. Staff helpful, jovial, patient and friendly. Lovely, heritage building close to light rail and either end of Sydney CBD.

When you won't get a 5-star experience at a 5-star hotel. While the staff was pleasant and helpful, the overall quality of the building and amenities fell short of expectations. The construction seemed to prioritize cost-cutting, resulting in a subpar experience. The room lacked basic items typically provided in a 5-star hotel, such as toothbrushes, toothpaste, bottled water, tissues, and a well-stocked minibar. Additionally, the room was relatively small, and the materials used, including the bathroom basin and carpet, were of low quality. The entertainment system was limited and required payment for most services, without offering basic apps like YouTube or Spotify. Overall, despite the friendly staff, the hotel's infrastructure and amenities did not meet the standards of a 5-star establishment.

Was 2 nights with wife and son during the Easter Break. Pretty good and cosy hotel. Friendly employees. Swimming pool was busy, wish it was bigger. Breakfast was great. Prices were reasonable, perfect for our budget.

Fantastic hotel with excellent location. Great views of the darling harbour and excellent wine and dine facilities around the hotel. Will highly recommended to anyone who is travelling and looking for a good place to stay in Sydney!

The hotel staff are friendly and offer to help whenever requested. In particular, I would like to compliment the doorman, named Ash, who has been great in helping me when I had an argument with the taxi driver who overcharged me greatly when reached the Fullerton Hotel ( for the trip from airport) without showing me the meters charge. In protecting the interest of hotel guests, Ash went beyond his basic duties and talked/questioned the driver for overcharging for the trip. It was the first trip for my family to Sydney and we are disappointed with the dishonesty of the taxi driver. In terms of location and cleanliness, the hotel is highly rated.

Fantastic little hotel, the room was simple and perfect (the bed was amazing), love the small touches (chocolates, coffee and tea) and the technology. The staff were wonderful, the location is central to everything. Couldn't fault it in any way. Loved our stay.

Julien and Michael, we stayed from Sunday night to Tuesday morning. The staff were friendly and helpful. I like the room it had lots of space and was very warm. Bed good and comfy, slept well each night. Bathroom Nice and cosy. Shower was always warm and pressure good.

I had high expectations of Capella Sydney after staying multiple times at Capella Bangkok and being treated as though I were the most important person in the hotel, just like all of the other guest who stay there are. The attention to service detail at Sydney location unfortunately failed very short to meet my expectations. The booking process on the website was glitchy and the pricing was inconsistent, sometimes showing pricing including tax sometimes not without indication and only upon receiving confirmation via email from reservations was the price confirmed, which did not match the screenshots of the reservation when I placed the booking so I had to go back and forth with reservations via phone and email to simply confirm the accurate pricing for my stay. After creating an account to log on to their booking platform although the option of modifying the booking was offered, the feature did not work on the site, so you had to cancel the booking and book a new booking if you simply wanted to extend by 1 day. This is before I even arrived at the hotel. When I did arrive, it is of course, no small feat that the restoration of this historic building was carried out with the utmost respect for the architecture, from the flooring material to the fenestration and even the internal grand stair way was brilliantly retro-fitted with current code requirements for the handrail in a historically appropriate yet contemporary solution. The hotel does not have many floors, so I encourage anyone to take the stairs to experience the beauty of the restoration work. The recognition of the strong identity of the urban location and sense of place in Sydney’s CBD offers us a promise, an encounter, as the space of the possible. I wish I could say the same about the interior design. There was a real disconnect between the intent of the architecture and that of the interior design. The decoration at best seemed vague, and so for the guest experience, how could one of have a point of view about the effect of the design? The space of the expectant “possible” relationship I was expecting from the simple activity of stepping into Farrer Place’s south entryway marked Department of Agriculture, as local stories interpreting colonial history with ancestral elements of the Eora people by Waayni artist Judy Watso unfolded, or the sense of expansive freedom through the bronze Palazzo doors on Loftus Street into the latent quiet luxury of the grand stair was lost when I was met with the contrasting designs and colours of the lift lobby vestibule axminster carpet and that of the corridor carpet to the guest rooms, able to be seen in the same frame. Although an argument can be made about eclecticism and the use of curating a collection of exceptional vintage and contemporary objects this was not the case here, it read as a mismatched bric-à-brac (to borrow a Victorian word from the building time period that's true meaning in French means ”any old way” or ”at random”). Exceeding expectations, this kind of price can live next to the Harbor Bridge and Sydney Opera House, which is really much more cost-effective than in China. Harbor view suite veiw invincible. The only downside is that there will be international cruise horns in the morning. But it was over in a few seconds, and it was still an experience.
