What an absolutely amazing stay in the nations capital. My room was incredibly clean and it was even quiet, considering that there was a rooftop bar with live music. I slept well. And, I’m really grateful that they are in such close proximity to a Walgreens, which is right on the corner. I travel often and often forget a thing or two or just need simple things like bottles of water (I drink half a gallon to a gallon per day). But I want to give a big huge shout out to the staff particularly Jessica, Michael and Chris. I was traveling with someone with dementia. We were in town for the Alzheimer’s Association ball. And, they truly treated my travel companion with kid gloves! The staff were considerate to her needs and patient with her every step of the way. I even accidentally left my jacket in the hotel room trying to take care of my friend and Jessica call me later on that day to let me know that she found it and that she would personally ship it out. This jacket is very personal and special to me and has quite a bit of sentimental value so I’m so incredibly grateful that I didn’t lose it and that it’s on the way back to me. This was a great stay, a great hotel! You feel safe in a big city and the café downstairs has some of the best coffee I’ve ever had in my life!

I came to the Holiday Inn Express with two of my friends and the assistant manager Ibrahim was very helpful when we had some trouble checking in and he was very helpful throughout the process of helping us. I stayed in a shared room (females only), and this was perfect for me because I was only there for a couple nights and just needed a place to sleep since I was out all day long. The Generator checked all the boxes and I felt safe sharing my room. The red line is only minutes away and there are multiple buses that can take you wherever you need to be! This is what I wrote to the Manager of the hotel. Mr. Hassan, Let me congratulate you on assembling one of the finest teams of hotel workers I have known. I especially want to point out Diamond, Larry, Carl, Melanie and Lourdes at the front desk and Johannes in housekeeping. Although I didn’t speak to any of them I also appreciate the maids who serviced our room every day. The reason I want to mention each person is because each addressed the issues we were having in a friendly, personal and professional manner. When my husband and I get to our room, we go over it to make sure anything out of place is mentioned to the front desk staff before we unpack. We found the living room chair in disrepair, a knob missing from the stovetop and the TV wasn’t working. By the time we returned to the front desk with our report, Diamond was on duty and asked if we wanted to change our room. She personally came to the second room and we told her that we preferred the first room if the items that needed addressing could be resolved. In fact, some were resolved by the time we returned to the first room. I also want to let you know that I had the best night’s sleep I’ve had in a long time! This was my first time at a Residence and my husband and I agree that we now need a reason to come back. Having a full refrigerator, free wifi, hot buffet breakfast, a fantastic and helpful staff and all the other amenities has made this our go-to for future stays in Arlington/Crystal City. I only have one suggestion to make and that is for your buffet. I know there may be safety rules involved, but a hot buffet should stay hot; one morning I was the first one there and by the time I got to my table the waffles were cold. This continued the next days for the pancakes and french toast. If there’s a problem with keeping a flame under each tray, may I recommend you put one or two small microwaves in or immediately outside the buffet area.

I have already recommended your hotel to a friend. And I’ll continue to do so to any and all who ask “What’s the best hotel in Arlington?”

I recently hosted a conference and board meeting at the Sheraton Pentagon City Hotel. I stayed twice- once in September to do a site visit and had a particularly friendly welcome from Gelila who helped me out multiple times and made me feel welcome and cared for. She really made my experience memorable. Working with Jada and Megan to book the event was really easy, friendly and efficient. When I came back to host my event I was really welcomed by the staff. Kendra always made sure I had what I needed to make sure my event ran smoothly and kept track of many different needs our group had. She was very responsive and helpful. Negasi, Rosario, Helen and Amir took care of us with our catering and were such authentic and caring people. They all made us feel like family. Negasi particularly noticed what we needed and made strides to change the plan to accommodate for our particular event. He is a wonderful person. Other front desk helpers, like Taylor, also really enhanced the experience. Everybody really actedl like a human being and I really appreciate it. I am so grateful each time I went down and saw Gelila at the desk because I felt like I could count on her generosity and friendly warmth! Thank you all for the care and consideration during our event! Next time will definitely book here.

We found our room to be very clean and comfortable. The air conditioner worked great. The shower had good pressure but it did take a while for the water to warm up. The hotel is located in a comfortable neighborhood and an easy walk to the Metro subway. We found several restaurants nearby with various choices of food. Overall we felt that we got a pretty nice room for the price.

I stayed at this brand new hotel at the University of Maryland and had a wonderful time. It is conveniently located to visit the university, but it is also very simple to go to DC using the Metro, which I did. The rooms are very comfortable and quiet. The WiFi is strong enough for video calls and work. The staff was very kind, including the cleaning staff.

My husband and I arranged for a room block for many of our guests to stay at this hotel for our wedding. Leading up to the wedding and during the wedding weekend, the staff were very communicative and hospitable - helping us keep track of which guests were staying there, the distribution of welcome bags, and coordinating transportation to and from our wedding. Our guests had a great stay at the hotel and really appreciated the reasonable price and proximity to many restaurants and shops in Bethesda.

I made my reservations on line through the Choice Website and check-in was quick and easy. Once in my room I found it to be clean and the bed comfortable and well mad. The bathroom in my room was one of the smallest that I have encountered with this chain. The room overall as I sad was clean but it was beginning to show it's age. It front cover of my HVAC Unit was loose and quiet loud but after a little work I was able to secure it enough to stop the noise. The breakfast area features the usual waffles, eggs, a meat, with fruit, yogurt, cereals, juice and coffee. The breakfast area can get very crowded but for the most part the attendant keep it clean and well stocked. This hotel features a Free shuttle to the Franconia-Springfield Metro Station which is a little over a mile away. With free parking at the hotel this shuttle is a very nice feature that we took advantage of several times during our stay. When we arrived back at the Metro Station, we simply called the hotel for pickup and in about 10 minute our shuttle arrived. Over all I was very satisfied with my stay and will stay here again when I am in the D.C./NOVA area.

GGuest UserOn Monday, May 30, Memorial Day, I purchased two day passes to the Ven's Rooftop pool. It was great weather and the DC public pools were, for the most part, closed. Rather than spend 2k+ on a pool membership in the region (cannot afford that), my son and I have set a goal to hit as many hotel rooftop pools that offer daypasses. The Ven was a nice experience. So, I could totally recommend the one-off visit to the pool and to check out the views of DC. Totally fun to see the Dupont circle Metro stop glass roof (being repaired) and a number of other cool buildings. Always a plus-- my son didn't bring any devices, so he read books and lounged by the pool. It's not really a great lap swimming pool there at the Ven. But, I once had someone teach me how to ”Aqua-jog” and no one there made me feel like I was an idiot for doing that. The package supposedly includes the hotel's gym. But that's in the basement of the hotel. It felt like it was a little understaffed at the hotel and I didn't feel comfortable asking for access. Anyway, I was there for the pool. I also was not offered my ”canned cocktail of choice.” I could have demanded it, but the very sweet gentleman tending the pool food bar/drinks was on his third day, and was a little befuddled that I didn't have a room number to charge things to. HOWEVER, I will admit, I tipped the gentleman and he helped us manuever getting two loungers. THAT WAS WORTH IT. He was super helpful. It was crowded and I was not excited about spending the day there sitting on benches. I asked and 20 minutes later he helped us make it work. THANK YOU. So, for a one-off-- totally worth it! Will I pay a monthly membership fee. Maybe not. Unless people somehow hook me up very clearly with that air hockey table...

GGuest UserThe hotel is huge and one of the more affordable one around DC. The aircon in the room is a little noisy but the operation guy came and says that’s the way it is. I asked for kettle to boil water and it came quite quickly though. There’s a usd20 surcharge per room per night but you can offset by meals in the hotel. The front desk also provides bottled water FOC upon request. Overall an ok stay.

GGuest UserRooms are large and extremely comfortable. Bathroom was small but highly functional. Bed was comfortable. Staff was friendly. The restaurant was a bit of a disappointment. The reviews were good but when we decided to try the American breakfast we were disappointed. Toast came out cold. Potatoes had no taste. Eggs were fine. Bacon was probably the best part and that was ok. Coffee was terrible. We didn’t return.

GGuest UserHotel stay was nice, easy check in, valet was not orginized safely and had us stopping in the middle of the road to get out and offload luggage. There was not a designated, safe area for valet to handle the vehicles. Elevator smelled like sweaty workers and had poor air circulation, the hall way smelt like ****(not always a bad thing, just not at that time and place), and the most disappointing thing was the horrible service upstairs at the ”resturaunt and bar.” Service was non-existent and they were not busy in the slightest, the music was all ”hard” rap music cursing that was not appropriate at that time considering there were still families present. My wife and I sat there for 30 minutes before I had to ask the bartender to make us a drink and I had to pay the bill at the hostess stand since our waiter never came at any point.

GGuest UserI traveled to DC with my preteen and teenage sons for a basketball game. The property didn’t receive my reservation (booked through 3rd party) but the front desk staff took the time to make it right and get us set up. They had excellent customer service throughout our stay. This hotel was VERY clean. I was actually surprised because I use to stay here frequently about 10 years ago and expected some things to run down a bit. It turns out that the hotel is very modernized and looks just as good now as it did a decade ago. The location is perfect as it’s right in the middle of the NoMa neighborhood and it is right next to the NoMa/Gaulludet (Red Line) Metro station. There are a few small shops across the street and a 7 Eleven next door if you are looking for a quick bite. The room itself was comfortable. My youngest son and I slept soundly on the queen sized bed and my oldest slept on the couch. He was pretty comfortable without even folding the couch down. Overall, I will definitely book here again as I frequently visit DC. Fo how inexpensive this hotel is, the quality was phenomenal. I can’t wait to go back.

GGuest Userwe arrived around 10am and were fortunate enough to be allowed early check-in. desk guy was nice, and was able to speak english. we needed the rest after a grueling red-eye. i was unaware of how far out the place was from most of what we were there to see. this resulted in spending enough money on Lyft to afford a ”swankier” place further into the city. my bad. after a brief rest, we met some family and walked around alot. the new target down the block closes at 9, so when we got back to the room around 930pm, we were unable to get supplies for the room, & had to stop at a gas station to get a few things. this is NOT a neighborhood to go walking at night. we were approached a few times, but never threatened, still didnt feel comfortable on the street. the room itself was reasonably clean, & there were no bugs that i could see. beds were firm, and there were mostly feather pillows. 3 per bed. there were multiple ”dings” in the place...beginning with the corners, the walls, and at least 2 pretty serious marks on the tub that had broken the enamel off. a fair bit of the caulking was pulled loose from both the tub and the wall. i was dissapointed to see the back of the dressing vanity was raw plywood. didnt expect that. there was a decent armoire for hanging clothes, with storage cubbies on the side. to the left of that was a reasobly large dresser with enough drawer space to handle what we had brought. immediately above the dresser was a huge flatscreen tv that, while impressive, was far to big for the space. after a bit, we figured out the remote. left of the dresser/tv was a desk & chair. under the right side of which was a 3-legged refrigerator with platic top that kept coming off. above that there was a microwave that proved useful, on top of which was a single cup coffee maker that worked nicely for tea. the furniture overall, seemed repurposed from another motel. most of it didnt match, and looked pretty used. the floor was reasonably clean
