This is a beautiful hotel situated in the mountainous region of Beijing. The surroundings and view from the hotel are breathtaking at sunset and weather was extremely good during our stay. STAFF The staff were amount the most helpful and friendly that I have encountered in China thus far and I have been here more than five years and traveled to many destinations. They do not speak English but are very ready to use a translation APP or WeChat to communicate. The staff are very accommodating and even took special requests regarding the menu. FOOD The food was very well prepared and tasted delicious. Their menu unfortunately does not have pictures and the translations may be tricky if you are not particularly familiar with Chinese cuisine. Nevertheless, the food that we at was fresh, tasty and of high quality. We were able to BBQ by ourselves by reserving it a day in advance. The staff will also help you BBQ if needed. LOCATION The hotel is situated far from the city and a sense of comfort can be experienced knowing that you have left the hustle and bustle of the city behind. However, make sure all amenities and personal effects that you may need are with you as you cannot get same day delivery services. There were some construction vehicles which made noise occasionally in the area but I would suspect this is temporary and will soon pass. ROOM The rooms are beautiful and we experiences no dysfunctional amenities in the bedroom. The linen on the beds were crisp and clean, the room was clean upon arrival and daily cleaning is offered. Overall cleanliness was very good. The washroom area is stocked with a loofa, toothbrushes and toothpaste tubes, shampoo, shower gel, conditioner, razor, hand towels, cups and reasonable space for personal toiletries too. POOL AREA The outdoor patio looks out onto the pool. The water was well maintained and some pool toys were provided by the hotel. The pool area could use some maintenance, for example, around the stairs there are a couple loose tiles on the stair face and some ****ing around the footpath could be done. Other than this, the environment is completely mesmerising and leaves one completely relaxed. Calming music is played throughout the day at a low volume. At night, this area is well lit and the scenery beautiful. BAR The bar is well stocked with spirits but a slightly wider variety and maybe the addition of a drinks menu would definitely improve this. ROOFTOP The hotel has a rooftop deck perfect for sundowners and viewing the surrounding mountains. Tables and chairs are provided on the rooftop.

In order to avoid crowds, I departed from Beijing on the night of the 22nd and came to stay at the foot of the Great Wall. I contacted the owner in advance to ask about the route and arrived at the entrance of the hotel. The owner is a local and the proprietress is too enthusiastic, and the service is absolutely perfect! The dinner and breakfast at his house, the braised pork is absolutely perfect! Fat but not greasy, very healthy and hygienic home cooking, and watermelon after dinner! When I do laundry in the evening, I will also provide you with washing powder, which can be dried on the top floor. The boss will help you buy tickets in advance the next morning. PS: It will be cheaper for the boss to buy tickets. After breakfast, they will be delivered to the foot of the Great Wall Cableway. In the morning There are not many people on the Great Wall and it is cool! A pleasant trip to the Great Wall, everyone should hurry up and go to the foot of the Great Wall one night in advance to avoid the flow of people. You deserve to have the Great Wall in the morning.

Never had such a pleasant hotel experience Let’s talk about the room first: it’s clean and affordable, with everything you need, and it’s very close to the scenic spot. You can see the night view of the scenic spot from the balcony~ There are many other people’s homes that live far away under the guise of the first phase, but this hotel is really The first phase, just a few steps to the entrance of the scenic spot~ Let’s talk about the service: the boss is kind and enthusiastic. He introduced the most reasonable route before booking a ticket. If there is anything you don’t understand, you can just ask the boss. Later, the boss upgraded the room for free. After checking out, the boss also thoughtfully asked yes It’s not that there are missing things, if there are any, you can mail them home To be honest, the best experience of this trip is not the scenic spot, but this hotel, where the body and mind are pleasant and the stay is so comfortable~

My wife and I had a really wonderful stay at Momentos, the room was really well designed and comfortable, the location was lovely, tucked away in the Huai Rou mountain valley with a local village nearby that you can walk through to the Xiang Shui Hu scenic area to visit a section of the Great Wall. The complimentary breakfast was excellent with both Asian and Western options, their coffee was great, definitely a nice perk for anyone who enjoys a nice barista coffee in the morning. We had dinner at the B&B as well, it is 88RMB per person with a set menu created on the day with locally produce which was really delicious and the home cooked flavour was wonderful. For anyone looking to take a quick trip into Huai Rou, this spot is truly a gem and highly recommended if you are looking for something that is a bit remote with all the comfortable amenities you would hope to get in a nice boutique style hotel. Also if you are feeling adventurous, you can also visit the nearby Yun Ling village, when you get to the top of the village, there is also a path you can take that leads you to a section of the Great Wall that is a relic to see, you can't climb or access it unfortunately since it is overgrown with vegetation and the structure has literally crumbling over time, it is still really impressive to see up close though and the hike up was quite beautiful too through the rolling hills, part of the path is paved and easy to access, there are sections of the hike where there is a running stream of water you have to cross, so keep that in mind when your shoes could get really wet.

We visited this hostel during the May holiday in 2021 and found it whilst looking for somewhere to get away to during the busy weekend. Thankfully it did not disappoint! Location: Located a valley away from Mutianyu Great Wall, the location of this place is fantastic. You can walk through the tees and mountains all the way up to the Great Wall, it takes about 1 hour and is not a difficult climb. The surrounding area is remote but has a few amenities, such as a few hotels and activities you can do. You can also see parts of unkempt Great Wall on the mountain tops, which is incredible. Room: The room was lovely and clean with a huge bath and an electronic toilet (quite the experience!). Inside the room there toiletries, tea & coffee, and some fresh fruit. The bed was large and soft, and the room had effective air conditioning. Facilities: The hotel’s grounds are on the side of a mountain with a few different levels. There is a playground for kids, an outdoor infinity pool and plenty of places to sit. The bottom level has an all-day restaurant with drinks and food available. Staff: The staff were super helpful and friendly, we were checked in promptly and even shown the exact place to follow the trail up to the Great Wall. The waiting staff were also really friendly. Food: We had an evening meal in the restaurant and breakfast the next day. The food in the evening was seriously good, a great selection of dishes, with some local dishes available as well. Also, cold beer! Always a plus. The breakfast was pretty good but a little cold when it came out, we chose to have the western breakfast. The coffee was very good. Overall, we had a lovely stay here and would recommend it to anyone looking for a trip out of the city. The owner also speaks some English which is awesome!

The duplex floor is a small and cozy place to live. The room looks like it can sleep up to 5 people, but the space for activities is a bit small. The surrounding environment is good. There is a small park downstairs, a convenience store, a subway station, McDonald's and KFC are also about 5 minutes' walk away. It can be reached, go to the Forbidden City, and Beijing South Railway Station are not too far away. A family of 3 spent a pleasant 4 nights here.

The hotel's facilities are beautiful, the environment is fresh and it has the feeling of an ancient town. The staff's attitude and service are very satisfactory. The room interval is relatively narrow and the toilet shower and toilet are not separated, which affects the sanitary conditions. The breakfast food is rich and delicious, among which millet porridge, soy milk, fried dough sticks and red date pastries are very suitable for personal taste. The location of the hotel is very close to the scenic spots, but it does not feel affected by the crowds. I enjoyed this hotel so much ! It’s a bit away from the crowds that’s why you can enjoy the atmosphere of being in the mountains . The room was cosy and had an interesting design ! Bed was comfortable and cafe outside was cosy too ) two sweet doggies live there and you can enjoy petting them any time you wish ) the view from the roof was amazing and you could enjoy watching the Great Wall while sitting on the chair among the water on the roof 🥰 Shuiguan Great Wall was just 5 minutes away from the hotel ! I enjoyed climbing it , there were almost no people and It gives you an amazing feeling of being one -on -one with the nature and the wall! ❤️ the only thing I didn’t like - there was a smell in the bathroom . And when man in the next room started shouting in the evening - I could hear it very well! Because the walls in the hotel are sin. Nice guy in the reception immediately helped me to solve this problem - he wrote to my neighbours and they stopped creaming 🙏 all in all I liked this place and hope to come back one day ! thank you for the wonderful stay ! 🙏❤️

The room was beyond expectation! I stayed for one night and slept very comfortably. The hygiene was quite clean. When we arrived at around 23:00, when the taxi arrived, there was still about 200 meters of road that could not be driven in (it was located in a scenic spot and the road was blocked). The surrounding area was pitch black, and I was worried that I had found an unreliable place, but after making a phone call, the proprietress came to pick us up in about 5 minutes. It was so warm! After entering a city gate, the lights were bright inside, which was not in line with the darkness outside. The facilities in the famous hostel are very advanced, with smart toilets, mirror lights, automatic curtains, and the key is that there is no peculiar smell in the room, and there is no smoky perfume smell. The hardware facilities are consistent with the hotel photos, and the quality is good and the price is low. It is recommended to stay here when you come to the Great Wall. I won’t post pictures of the hotel, but take a picture of the surrounding environment, as shown below. It’s very close to the Badaling Great Wall by car~

My experience was okay. The epidemic restrictions are what caused a lot of disappointments. The manager was helpful and friendly. He tried his best to keep us comfortable. I found the Thailand style rooms pretty comfortable. However more needs to be done to keep the outside table and chairs clean and tidy. The scenery around is beautiful and tranquil. During the epidemic all food is served on paper and plastic cutlery which did take away from a good eating experience. They have beautiful lounges and seating area’s indoors that are well decorated but we couldn’t sit inside due to the epidemic! So most meals were eaten outdoors in the cold. There are some tourist activities around such as climbing the Great Wall, horse riding and go-carting. However, many of these places are not in full operation right now. Also, there are many restaurants around if you search well. Overall I think the place is good but best to return when there are no covid restrictions!
