I stay in hotels A LOT! But except for one other occasion, I've never bothered to leave reviews. But this place is one of the more questionable hotels I've stayed at for several reasons. The hotel: - they charged my credit card the full fee a day BEFORE I checked in. They have a 24 hr cancellation period with minimal one night charge yet they still took it upon themselves to charge me before I actually checked in - very unethical - they want a photo of government issued ID. Weird, with all the crazy data breaches occurring, it's recommended private entities DO NOT store this unnecessary data, yet they still expected a copy. I didn't provide it, just let them sight it upon check in - the pics used to promote the apartments are stretched out and misleading. The actual apartment is small, very small if you consider the costs incurred - photos online make it look like there is a bathtub, (and when I called the hotel to check, the person I spoke to told me there was a bathtub) but there actually isn't any which is VERY inconvenient when travelling with a companion who can only use a tub (for accessibility reasons) - they don't do housekeeping every day. You can ask for fresh towels but goodluck getting a vacuum or dirty bin emptied. The actual apartment - there is no ducted air conditioning. On a hot day (was 35° when I checked in) I needed to blast the AC at 18° (we froze in the living area) just so cool air can seep into the bedroom and cool it down so we can sleep - the actual apartment was very dirty. Tiles had previous occupants hair on the floor, carpet is stained in multiple locations, glass doors and outside balcony railing dirty with hand prints and smudges - minimal crockery and cutlery provided. Only one drinking glass provided - no tea towel provided - phone in room not set up. Had to call reception from my mobile to report issues - oddly there are very few electrical ports in the living area. Difficult to charge devices - there is no shelving in the wardrobe, and it's difficult to tidy anything up or pack things away. Only one storage shelf and you need a ladder to access it - the railing for the wardrobe is so high, one needs to be over 7 foot to use it - to access the bathroom, one needs to go through the bedroom so it's really hard to have one person stay up while another sleeps - the bathroom doesn't have a drain so any access water needs to be mopped with the towels to avoid a slip hazard (problematic as they only give you 2 towels and don't do daily room service) - there are NO clothes hooks in the bathroom The positives: Overall the staff were pleasant and friendly. Every staff member I spoke to in person was hospitable, helpful and very kind. The blockout blinds were good and the sound proofing was great. They also accommodated late check out. I felt very disappointed as I travel to Melbourne monthly and was very disappointed to pay premium costs for accommodation but get what I consider inadequate facilities. I'd only recommend s

Excellent location. All branded shoppings & fine dinings are within walking distance. Hotel staff are extremely friendly & helpful. l would rate their service better than those from Park Hyatt Melbourne.
Only complaint was the poor sound proof. l can hear noices from neighbouring room clearly. This is a let down that the hotel gotta look into it.

Location of hotel was perfect, room is good size to rest / work for some conference calls, I love it.
Only cleanliness was a little lacking as I see they do not clean the shower area well (some hairs in a corner) & the nuts I dropped on the carpet floor on the first night was left unattended for 3 nights in a row while I stay in the hotel.

First time in Melbourne and decided to stay at the Hotel Indigo as it was advertised as being newly remodeled from old Holiday Inn and my prior experience with the brand in the USA. The hotel was very clean and modern. The staff and the desk were very friendly and helpful. My room looked upon the old Victoria Railway Administration building. My room was spacious enough for me. The window was very large as you can tell from the photo, but wished the automated shade also goes bottom to top as well, so I could keep the top part open and bottom window closed for privacy at night. The breakfast at the hotel was very satisfying and provided a good start to the day. Hotel is within walking distance to Southern Cross station, where I went to the Woolworth grocery store for some items as I had stayed 5 nights at the hotel. Hotel is also walking distance to the CBD with locations like Town Hall, Chinatown, Yarra River, Art Museum not too far. All in all, had a good stay here.

This classic hotel is everything you could wish for and expect. The staff are fabulous, always helpful and relatable. The room we had was incredible - an entry foyer, separate bathroom, huge bedroom and walk-in closet with mini-bar; more a suite than simply a room. The furniture and decor in our suite and throughout the hotel is appropriately of the period, without being precious or stuffy. We had a share platter in the cricketers bar which was very good in quality and value and our breakfast this morning was superb and superbly presented by a great staff - quietly efficient. We would advise you to take the time to just wander around and look at all the artworks and perhaps we might see you next time we stay; we'll certainly be coming back.

The hotel is conveniently located right in the heart of Melbourne near the Spanish Quarter, Bourke Street Mall, and other shopping precincts. The staff are friendly and efficient at check-in. The rooms are good in size with modern amenities and comfortable beds. There is a kettle and small fridge. The bathroom has a bath with a shower, so if you have mobility issues, it's not for you. There is no rail to hold onto when getting in or out, which makes it dangerous, especially as it gets slippery. There is a pool and gyn which were modern and accessible. The room we had faced into the mezzanine of the hotel so you dont get any light from outside, which was strange. The room was very quiet and had a good air conditioner. Overall, we would stay here again, although the lack of being able to see outside wasn't ideal, and if you stayed for more than one night, it could be an issue.

The only good thing about this place is location: it is within the free tram zone and right next to the Victoria market (there's a great Indonesian restaurant nearby). The rest is full of problems: 1. They don't respond to emails. If they do, they don't answer the questions properly. I had to chase them up quite a few times. 2. The rooms are rather worn out. The arm chair looked too dirty and old that I could not bring myself to put my clean clothes on it. Shower doors are poorly designed - the whole bathroom gets flooded. The holder for the shower head can't be fixed - and difficult to reach. 3. The rooms are noisy (the ones facing the main street). 4. Most importantly however - when I thought I lost my door key (the electronic one) I went to the reception and asked them to cancel it and reissue me a new one. I told the receptionist that the electronic key had a sleeve with the name of the hotel and the my room number so if he did not cancel it, the key could be used to locate and access my room very easily. He then told me he had cancelled my old key and reissued me a new one. I was not convinced the electronic key code for the room had been reset but went to my room in the hope that he was right. I found my original key the next morning and of course it was working. So he had lied to me. If I had lost my key, someone could easily have come in to my room and steal my things or even worse come in when I was there. The key sleeve had all the info - hotel name and room number. He put my life and goods at risk. NEVER STAYING HERE AGAIN!!! Terrible reception staff. Their front desk staff are either poorly trained or inexperienced - this is surely a major management issue. I have work visits planned for Melbourne. Will not be returning to this badly run hotel.

I booked 10 nights at Pullman Albert Park, and got upgraded into privilege room. It was a pleasant stay. It shares the same facilities (restaurant, gym, pool etc) with Mercure, but it felt more like you're in Mercure than in Pullman. The hotel is a short tram trip to CBD. The tram stop is within walking distance, so it was convenient. I love that it is facing the Albert Park lake, such a vibe! The building is a bit old, but the room was still comfortable. The service was very good, everyone was really friendly. The only downside was that they looked understaff. I had to carry my own luggage when I left, and not many staff were present especially in the restaurant. But, everyone was very helpful! This hotel offers good value for longer stay. It's a perfect place if you want to explore more local activities such as: visiting the markets, exploring the surrounding (you can go to Royal Botanic, National Gallery of Victoria, Shrine of Remembrance), or going to the beach. Thank you for the pleasant experience!

I stayed for 3 nights from 30 May 2024. I've sent the email in advance and let them know that I will arrive there in the morning by the early flight. I didn't expect to be able to early check in, so I was going to ask them to keep my luggage. However, they prepared a room for check in early and it was a nice surprise that they provide me un upgraded room! My key didn't work at the lift, but the receptionist lady was very helpful and come with me to the room and swiped the key and checked the key worked in the room. The room was clean, spacious, two wide screen TV and modern and cozy atmosphere. I really relaxed to watch a good selection movie and I enjoyed T2 tea. The location was great. The Royal Arcade is just cross the road and I really enjoyed walking to grab coffee every morning around Little Burke Street and Flinders Lane where are just 5 minutes by walk. They arranged one delay check out, plus kept my luggage until the time of my flight. It was a great customer service. This is a small boutique hotel. However, it seems they try to provide a flexible service and meet the customer's need. Overall, it was very enjoyable stay!

Stayed in a single room, which was very comfortable, with large windows and enough lighting. Below is the famous coffee shop street, which is very lively. There are also many places to eat nearby, including train stations, tram stops, 24-hour fast food, etc., which is very convenient.
The accommodation is co-living and there are activities every day. The shared bathrooms are usually wet after every use, but cleaning staff are often seen cleaning them.
The location is right in the city center, very convenient to go anywhere.

EEwa HelmaWe stayed here for 4 days. Good location if you want to stay near victoria market. Not far from the main area. Close to restaurants & trams (5to10mins walk). The apartment is big enough for 2 adults with kids. We got room with no view. Not sure if they have room with views. We love the heated pool 😄.

GGuest UserLocation is great very close to the shopping centre nearby. My experience is a bit unpleasant.
Pros: Location is great, shopping centre is just few minutes walk.
- Young new staffs are friendly with impressive smiles, which overcomes my unpleasant check-in experience .
Cons:
- Hygiene: Inside the flat is clean, however the ventilation fan in toilet/bathroom does not work. - Rubbish on the 1st floor's roof (refer attach image) which just outside the bedroom windows including shoe, pants etc.
- The major drawback is Check-in on the first day. Booked two nights and prepaid via Trip.com a day before, requested for ”high floor” subjected to availability. On the day of arrival just before 12pm, I was intend to drop the luggage then return later for check-in. But the Indian senior staff lady said that the room is ready which assigned on 2/F, on Saturday their booking is usually full so it is the only room available (Which is understandable), as I prepaid online in advance I had no choice but to accept it (but quite discouraging to prepaid on Trip.com anymore because the booking cannot be cancelled);
Then after I handed my credit card to this Indian lady at counter (looks like a senior staff) I was informed that they'll charge an ”early check-in fee” of AUD30 (despite I keep reiterating that I can come back in the afternoon), she convinced me to join the Avani membership so she can waive the fee for me in favor.
Was advised if I want a room on high floors, with better view, book on the Avani app instead.

GGuest UserEverything about this place says Motel, not 5 Star Hotel. Lack of housekeeping - our room was cleaned twice in 7 days and not well. We eventually got fed up and asked for clean towels. When we were at reception checking in, there were other guests complaining about their dirty rooms. Fifth restaurant - the breakfast buffet was terrible. There was no omelette bar or even a basic pancake machine. No option for included barista-made coffees either, which is a minimum at any “5 star” hotel. Strato restaurant - we booked this for a special occasion. There was zero recognition of this. They put us at a table beside the kitchen door and in a corner with no views despite a good corner table being empty the entire time we were there. We waited 30 mins each for 2 courses and we’re still eating 30 mins after the 2 hour allocation. The ambience was constantly disturbed by the kitchen yelling “service please!” Only upside was the extra bread and free mocktail they offered us, I assume due to the slow service. Slow lifts - we had to allocate an extra 15 mins to our departure whenever leaving the room. Poor service - as per already stated, the service was very poor if you compare it to any other 5 star hotel. It was average if you think you’re at a motel. Additionally, because they were training staff, service at the lobby bar was ridiculously slow. We waited 15 mins for them to serve 2 wines. Reception also ran out of vouchers (part of our package) and told us to come back later and say “we forgot to pick up some of our vouchers” rather than acknowledging their error. Location - we knew this going in but it is a long walk into the CBD and you need a Myki card because the nearest tram stop is outside the free zone. In summary: Avoid this place if you are looking for luxury. We booked this for a special occasion and were sorely disappointed. The only good thing is the views from some parts of the restaurants.
MMilamentThe apartment locates on good location. But it dosesn’t have private parking within the apartment. And we have to pay more for parking 30 AUD/night for renting other private parking near here. Reception is not available 24 hrs.

GGuest UserNot recommended for those who value their personal data security and privacy.
Not recommended for internati9nal travellers who may not have enough charge on their phones to complete 3 forms, then download and set up an app that requires constant internet and Bluetooth connections.
Booking required multiple insecure methods of sharing credit card details and identification documents along with 2 forms to fill out with personal details and an app to download in order to gain access to the Building entrance, Elevator, and Apartment.
None of this information was given to me prior to booking. I would not have stayed here if I had known the extent of insecure transmission of personal information and amount of admin and work required just to check in and stay one night. I work in this space and know the risks. Management is putting guests personal data at risks with the excessive documentation requests.
FYI, requiring someone to send credit card PICTURES and ID pictures over email is completely insecure. This is bizarrely at odds with the excessive security to get into the building.
The constant need to carry your phone everywhere or you'd be locked of the apartment or even the whole building was extremely stressful.
In terms of the actual room, once I got in, the bed, kitchen, lounge and floors were clean but the toilet had not been cleaned in a long time. This was not nice. You could see parts under the rim had not been cleaned in years. Toilet had also been recently used and not flushed properly upon arrival. I did not take photos of any of this, it was too gross.
I ended up buying paper cups as the glasses/cups as those supplied were not clean, tried to take a picture but it's hard to see. They were covered in fingerprints and fibres of some kind.
The view was nice and loungeroom was great, study nook was extremely handy for remote work. Balcony tiles are moving and could be a tripping hazard. Laundry was well equipped but did not have time to use it.
GGuest UserLocation: The location of the hotel is very convenient, many sightseeing points and shops are at walking distance (10-15 min). Moreover, there is a plethora of restaurants around the hotel and China Town was also a 10 min away.
Cleanliness: Although the room looks clean at first glance, without room service available, the room can get messy and dirty really quick. Moreover the toilet and cooking area are relatively small, which makes everything cramped together and drips everywhere. Another thing to note is that the shower place in the bathroom does not have proper enclosement which will cause water to splash all around when taking a shower to bath, especially the water closet which causes a lot of inconvenience.
Service: The staffs at the counter are very helpful and friendly. Not only they were polite but they will help and make your stay as pleasant as possible by assisting you with your needs (extra amenities and beds).
General Facilities and amenities: Even though you can always ask for extra amenities from staffs, the facilities ans other services in this hotel is completely lacking. As mentioned, there is no house cleaning service provided nor there are any other recreational facilities such as swimming pool or in house kitchen.
Another point to note is that Mentra 100 is not a big hotel, they only provide 1 or 2 room selections. If you are travelling with 4 ppl or above it is best to keep this in mind as some people might need to sleep in the living room given the limited space.

Ff__gyxoWe had a rocky start to the apartment - booked the 2 bedroom for 4 adults for 2 nights. One of the bedrooms was locked when we checked in, had to call reception to get them to unlock it. Once it was unlocked, there was an issue with the aircon where it would switched off after turning on. Reception came upstairs and changed the battery but then told me to “use my fingernails and press hard on the on/off button”. Then the 2nd day, one of our card readers stopped working so we had to go down to reception again and get them to recode the card.. all of sudden the fire alarm went off so we had to evacuate and walk down 10 levels of stairs only to find out the alarm went off because some guests microwaved popcorn which set off the alarm. Reception staff didn’t even inform us on when to go back inside - had to rely on the fire brigade people.
There are advantages to this place though - this is a carpark that you can park your car overnight for $38 per night, has basic amenities, wifi, balcony and tv. Easy walk to Chinatown, Melb central and QV. Hotel is situated on the quieter side of CBD.
Would stay again however don’t expect top notch service as there is no daily housekeeping and reception staff service is average.

GGuest UserWe arrived at around 4pm on 26.12.21. I wasn't impressed by how filthy the floor of reception was. No one was on the check in counter so we followed the instructions and let ourselves into 307A. Walking down the corridor towards the room, we started to smell what could only be described as mould. When we opened the door, the stink nearly knocked us out. Of course, no one answered any phone calls we could make on this, being Boxing Day. We then found a supermarket open to buy some air freshener so that we could tolerate the stink for the night. We also composed an email asking for a refund on this night, of course, even now one month later, no response. By 10am on 27th December, a trainee was on reception and managed to find another room for us to stay in that night. We cancelled the third night accommodation be had booked and went elsewhere. This was a horrible experience.
GGuest UserThe live situation of the accommodation is reasonable in Melbourne for such a price. The service at the front desk of the hotel is very good. The towel will be thoughtfully windy.
