"I stayed at the Tingbo Hotel, and the location is absolutely fantastic, right at the entrance of the scenic area. You can step out and start exploring immediately, which is incredibly convenient. The room was spotless, so clean you could see your reflection, and the bed was super soft – I woke up feeling completely refreshed. The front desk staff were wonderful, always patiently answering my questions, truly thoughtful. I especially loved the hotel's decor style; it's very unique. Every corner is meticulously arranged and looks amazing in photos. Plus, the hotel service was excellent; it was such a pleasant stay. The value for money at this hotel is incredible. The price wasn't expensive, but the service and facilities were outstanding. It felt like a great deal. The hotel is clean, and its location near the north gate of the ancient city means you can walk everywhere, which is very convenient. I'll definitely come back next time."

Guest UserThe whole family with the elderly and children stayed in Qichen, and the experience exceeded expectations! The courtyard is spacious and safe, the children can run freely, the room space is sufficient, the bed is comfortable to sleep, the hygiene is particularly in place, and the elderly are very satisfied. The housekeeper prepared fruit intimately, took the initiative to help carry large luggage, planned the easy parent-child play route in detail, and avoided the crowded crowd. The homestay is quiet and not noisy, the quality of rest is very good, not far from the ancient city attractions, and travel is labor-saving. The whole is warm and homey, the whole family likes it very much, and the first choice for family travel is Qichen Boutique B&B!

This distinctive Jin merchant courtyard was a special experience we wanted for our child. Our room, with its small attic, surprisingly had three 1.8-meter beds including the downstairs one, which is perfect for family travel. The owners are really lovely; they helped us with our luggage at the entrance and gave us directions to avoid any pitfalls. They even gave us two bottles of vinegar when we left – absolutely fantastic! 👍

Guest UserTraveling with elderly family members, the hotel owner provided complimentary pick-up and drop-off service from Pingyao Ancient City Station, which was very convenient.
The room was clean and tidy, with modern facilities and excellent soundproofing. Although it's very close to South Street, it's surprisingly quiet. The hotel's location is superb, making it easy to get to any attraction. South Street, with its abundance of restaurants and snack bars, is just a minute's walk away.
The front desk staff were very helpful. They assisted with luggage delivery to our room and even offered complimentary fruit. They meticulously explained touring routes and provided discount coupons for several restaurants; we tried one, and the food was delicious.

LeijieailvyouMy travel plans suddenly changed, so I ended up in Pingyao, a place I hadn't visited in many years. The city has changed a lot! The most pleasant surprise was finding this guesthouse online. My first impression was how thoughtful and enthusiastic the hosts were, and their dedicated service. They gave detailed recommendations on how to explore, where to eat, what to see, and even provided maps for tourists. They also arranged free pick-up and drop-off, which made me feel incredibly at ease. Then there was the environment itself... simply stunning! It was quiet, elegant, with the grandeur of a Jin merchant compound and the beauty of a smaller garden. Truly, every corner was a picturesque spot, perfect for photos. It’s an ideal courtyard for girlfriends who love taking pictures. Each room in the guesthouse is unique, offering a variety of styles to suit different preferences. We decided to extend our stay for another night without hesitation. Being in such an environment made us feel comfortable, secure, and completely relaxed.

Very good experience. The owners are friendly and provide pick up at the gate entrance. Pretty courtyard and the owners shared a lot of information on where to eat / shop at. Would definitely recommend this guesthouse to those wanting to visit Pingyao.

qazxswrThe transportation is convenient, and the inn's shuttle service is incredibly punctual. The owner is warm and thoughtful; they coordinated pick-up and drop-off times in advance, so there was no waiting at all. The guesthouse's location is superb, just a few minutes' walk to explore Pingyao Ancient City. The room was spotless, and the bedding and bathroom were clean and fresh. The service was meticulous and attentive; any requests were responded to quickly. They even gave us a souvenir when we checked out. The overall experience far exceeded our expectations. If you're visiting Pingyao, staying here is a no-brainer – highly recommended!

SeattlerWe enjoyed an absolutely fabulous three-day stay at Jing's Residence.
The building itself is a very nicely modernized Qing-era building. We've stayed in some similarly ages buildings in Europe and this was right up with the nicest of them. The spaces look very similar to the ones in the museums in town, albeit with bathrooms and more comfortable furnishings.
The service was absolutely impeccable. Our room was constantly restocked with complementary drinks and baked goods, and the front desk staff (Crystal and Leo) was helpful with everything from restaurant recommendations to transportation to the train station to us mixing up our departure date (whoops). All staff spoke great English.
Afternoon tea was a particularly nice touch: no fee, great service, and a very relaxing atmosphere. Food was light Chinese snacks, not the huge spread of a British-style high tea.
Breakfast was a similar relaxing experience. We tried all the of the Chinese-style options and they were all excellent. We did not try the Western-style options.
Dinner was a set menu, shown to us in the morning before making the reservation. It was a combination of Western dishes and local Pingyao/Shanxi food. If given the choice we would have preferred purely Chinese food, but it was all very good and honestly the change of peace was probably good-- getting a salad was nice after two weeks in China. The Pingyao Beef was the highlight: big cubes of high quality meat, easily my favorite of the three places we had this dish.
The bar had a nice selection of Western wines, Scotch, etc, but I was disappointed to not see any local rice wine or Baiji.
Air conditioning worked very well in our room, easily getting the temperature down under 20C even at midday on ＞30C days.
Overall I really can't recommend this place enough: this hotel was really a highlight of our trip.

Guest UserSuperb! The front desk service and the staff who showed us to our room were incredibly warm and helpful, offering fantastic tips for exploring. Our room was spotless, the bedding was super comfy, and the 'kang' (heated bed) was huge – big enough for five! They even helped us arrange a private car and a really professional tour guide. The food recommendations were divine, and the restaurants near the hotel were also delicious. The location is perfect, making it easy to get in and out of the city. What really sets this place apart is that it's the only guesthouse within the ancient city walls with a grand seven-courtyard layout, very impressive! Even celebrities have stayed here and loved it. The in-house photo shoot service was also a nice touch! Breakfast was excellent, especially the handmade noodles – we each had two bowls! Overall, our entire family was extremely satisfied. An absolutely fantastic stay! 👍👍

Mingzhen99251. **Excellent Location:** Situated on North Street in the ancient city, about 400 meters from the North Gate. It's a short walk to the Ming and Qing old street and the City Tower, making it super convenient for exploring the ancient city. The hotel is a traditional courtyard house with red lanterns throughout, creating a strong, picturesque atmosphere – great for photos! They even have 'kang' (heated bed) rooms for a unique Jinnese residential experience.
2. **Thoughtful Service for Drivers:** Since motor vehicles aren't allowed in the ancient city, guests park in the public lot outside the North Gate. Staff come to pick you up and help with luggage, which is a huge plus for those traveling with seniors or a lot of bags.
3. **Comprehensive Amenities:** Breakfast is provided, and there's a small noodle shop within the courtyard. Some rooms on the second floor offer night views of the ancient city's rooftops. XiaohaitunaizaishenqiuThe Xinghuacun Hotel boasts an excellent location right in the heart of Pingyao Ancient City, directly across from the county government office. A right turn out of the hotel brings you to the bustling South Street, where all the major attractions are located. The rooms are incredibly spacious and feature double sinks. They're also super cool; we didn't even need to use the AC at night, making for a very comfortable sleep. The abalone millet porridge at breakfast was delicious, and the pour-over latte coffee was just as good as what you'd find in a coffee shop. The mini-fridge was stocked with various complimentary beverages, and all the bottled water was Baishui Mountain brand. What surprised us most was the complimentary fruit delivered every afternoon, and a thoughtful farewell gift upon check-out. The service truly was superb! 👍 Highly recommended!
