Datong Hotels with Bars

A true gem of a hotel! It's exquisite, compact, and wonderfully quiet with excellent soundproofing. The staff provides exceptional, warm service. A few days before arrival, a butler reached out to confirm our itinerary. They offer a complimentary GL8 private car service for transfers to and from the station, and the butler promptly responds to any requests. Breakfast is a set menu; our room included two portions, which was more than enough for two adults and one child, especially since the noodles and drinks were unlimited. The most delightful surprise was the night amenities: face masks, earplugs, eye masks, and disposable bathtub liners – everything you could need! Upon departure, we received a thoughtful souvenir: a beautiful shoulder bag filled with Datong specialties like millet, dried apricots, yogurt, and oil tea. An all-around fantastic experience!

I've been to Datong twice, and this time I stayed in a guesthouse in the ancient city, which was a truly different experience. First off, the service was impeccable, far superior to any star-rated hotel. From booking to check-in and check-out, the staff's service-oriented mindset was excellent and incredibly thoughtful. Next, the decor: it's anything but the cookie-cutter style you find in hotels. From the lobby to the rooms, everything is unique and distinctive, I'd say it's an Italian style. The bedding and amenities in the room are all branded, and there's plenty of hot water. Breakfast is a nine-grid affair, and the sliced noodles were delicious. The coffee at the front desk was also good. They even offer free try-ons for travel photography outfits. Overall, the experience was fantastic and really changed my perception of guesthouses. I'll definitely come back to experience it again if I get the chance!

A very cozy and comfortable B&B, located right in the ancient town's pedestrian street, offering a peaceful retreat amidst the bustling area. The courtyard is spacious, the rooms are clean, and all amenities are of high quality. Breakfast is plentiful, and the staff are friendly. The location is excellent, with all of the ancient town's attractions within walking distance, which is great when traveling with kids as it saves a lot of hassle. Plus, many popular restaurants often have long queues, but because this place is so close, you can easily grab takeout and enjoy your meal back at the hotel, saving a lot of waiting time. I'll definitely stay here again next time I visit Datong.

A small inn inside a new development within the old city, within a few minutes walk of the city wall, where you can climb up and walk the wall.    The hotel and surrounding development was created in the traditional style.     Clean, newly built , managed well, provided a good breakfast,  room furnishings were a higher quality than an average hotel.     Underground parking garage was convenient.     If I had to improve anything, I would find a way to turn off the bath area sink mirror night light.   It was distracting to try to sleep with the room bathed in bright blue light ( more like a studio, not a fully separate bathroom )... I ended up sticking a towel against it to block most of the light.

Our stay at the YANN Hotel in Datong was simply outstanding. This charming boutique hotel is beautifully designed, with exceptional attention to detail in every corner. It has a warm, stylish atmosphere and is clearly run with great passion and care, making guests feel welcome from the moment they arrive. The staff were incredibly friendly, attentive, and genuinely helpful throughout our stay. They went above and beyond by assisting us with purchasing tickets for local shows and recommending excellent local restaurants, which made our visit to Datong even more memorable. We also loved the traditional Chinese breakfast. It was fresh, authentic, and absolutely delicious. A wonderful way to start each day. The combination of stunning design, heartfelt hospitality, and outstanding service made this one of the best hotel experiences we’ve had. We would happily stay here again and highly recommend the YANN Hotel to anyone looking for a unique and memorable stay in Datong.

My biggest surprise on this trip to Datong was definitely this hotel. As a hotel enthusiast, I really couldn't find much to fault (though the pool water wasn't quite warm enough – a minor imperfection, I suppose). First off, the location is superb, right by the ancient city wall. You step out and the city wall is right across the street, and Southeast Yip is just next door. Taking a stroll in the evening couldn't be more convenient! Everything is close by, and getting a taxi is easy. Secondly, the hotel itself is stunning and impeccably clean, perfect for photos. The hotel feels like a work of art, beautifully designed, blending classical aesthetics with modern design. It also does an excellent job of protecting guest privacy; outside photographers can't just wander in. It's incredibly tranquil; even though it's fully booked every day, you rarely run into other guests, offering great privacy. I slept wonderfully. Then there are the top-tier amenities. All the luxuries you'd expect from a high-end hotel are here. Everything in the minibar, except for the red wine, is complimentary – there's so much you can't possibly drink it all. Every day, they offer different fresh fruits, nuts, and a goodnight dessert, plus complimentary coffee. The complimentary afternoon tea is very generous and aesthetically pleasing. The breakfast selection is extensive and delicious! And the service, it's simply outstanding, scoring almost full marks for attention to detail. There are plenty of staff members, and they respond incredibly quickly. They even deliver takeout to your room. If I had to pick a flaw, it's that it's quite expensive. But overall, it was definitely worth it. If I come to Datong again, I'd choose this hotel without hesitation.

The hotel is located in a sunken plaza just outside the city walls. While you can walk to nearby attractions, they're still a bit of a distance. Before booking, I saw on Trip.com that there was free parking, but there isn't. I ended up parking on the side road, which thankfully didn't result in a fine. Hauling luggage down the steps to the hotel was really inconvenient. The front desk service was fine; they'd ask every morning if I wanted the room cleaned. However, on one occasion, the beds weren't made after cleaning. The toilet flush is incredibly powerful; if you don't quickly move away after using it, you'll definitely get splashed on your legs or backside. Plus, the shower water kept fluctuating between hot and cold, making for a very uncomfortable shower. Overall, I can only give it an 'NPC' rating [Non-Player Character, implying it's just 'there' and not particularly noteworthy or good].

This hotel is located right next to the Huayan Temple in Datong Ancient City, making it super convenient for sightseeing. The hotel's food is authentic and varied, and the service is excellent. They even deliver meals to your room, which is incredibly thoughtful. The hotel also has a great selection of entertainment facilities, including KTV, a mahjong/card room, and a home theater, so you'll never be bored. What's even more considerate is that they provide hair oil in the rooms, which is a lovely touch for women's hair care – full of thoughtful details!

The best choice for our Datong trip! Beiwai Courtyard perfectly blends a thousand years of culture, ancient architectural aesthetics, and modern comfort. The courtyard is elegant, the rooms are smart, the location is superb, the service is warm, and the breakfast is rich and delicious. There's also a super spacious 500m² public entertainment area. Every detail shows thoughtfulness. You can immerse yourself in Northern Wei history while enjoying a convenient stay. It's a must-stay cultural landmark when visiting Datong, and we'll definitely choose it again next time!

Great place to feel at home in a very nice area of the old city. Big and pretty room, comfortable and cozy. And last, for me, the very best at this place is the welcoming and very helpful staff. I have been here already 2 times and I will come back for sure when more friends come to China and want to visit the amazing caves and the great atmosphere of the old town.
