Must-visit in Datong, Shanxi: I rarely leave reviews, but this one is genuinely good ^O^ Is it because it's newly opened and people don't know about it yet? Waaaa X﹏X, or is the owner not actively promoting it? [shyR][shyR] A particularly good experience. The house was clean and tidy, all decorated by the owner himself. There was a coffee machine, a Dyson hairdryer, afternoon tea, and a car service – very thoughtful. The house was clean and tidy, the air was fresh, and the beds were spotless. Look at our breakfast 😋 You have to come here yourself to truly appreciate these thoughtful services, hehe. They even provided many drinks and coffee ☕^O^. The location is also very convenient, close to Huayan Temple and Datong Ancient City. So touching ❤️ When I left, the owner gave me bread 🍞 made by his mother, so thoughtful ❤️ I ate some on the train, I wish I had ordered another one, hehe 😬

Very close to Parkson, the location is excellent, 200 meters from the hotel is the old wood cutting noodles, and there is an electric car for guests to rent at the entrance of the hotel, which is very convenient. Hotel breakfast until 11 o'clock, tastes good, suitable for tourists who like to get up late The room was very clean, especially the bathroom, separated from wet and dry, the bathroom was spacious and the hot water was very flush! The waiter is very good, and the robot can deliver takeaways! Praise

We took a 23-day trip through China, staying in 9 different hotels. Without hesitation, I can say that our stay at Floral stood out in many ways. First, the hotel's structure is very beautiful and has been renovated while staying true to the traditional style of the region. The hotel room itself was probably the most beautiful we had seen on our entire trip: spacious, with windows that actually opened, good air conditioning, and modern decor and furniture without being over the top. Second, the hotel's location is within the boundaries of the city wall and is part of the old town, so beautiful to walk around and see the traditional houses - many of them renovated according to the traditional style. And third and most importantly, the kindness of the people who work at the hotel. I have never felt so welcome anywhere on holiday as at this place. Unfortunately, I arrived with health problems and needed antibiotics - equivalents of the ones I had brought from Europe. I asked the reception where I could find the closest pharmacy, but rather than guiding me there, Xiao Liu, the lady at the reception, figured out for me which antibiotic would be the right one and got it for me. The same when we needed a suitcase, rather than sending me to the shop she inquired about our desired suitcase and in one hour it was there. Drinks are complementary at any time of the day, and the breakfast (Chinese and international - sandwiches) was generous and unlimited. When we were running late coming back from the grottoes and needed to catch a train, Xiao Liu helped us out by bringing us all our suitcases directly to the train station. We will never forget all these acts of kindness and we are still grateful to her and the entire hotel staff for making us feel so much at home. Datong will stay in our minds and hearts forever thanks to the people of the Floral hotel. Datong is special enough for all the incredible cultural sights you can visit - but our stay there will never be forgotten thanks to the beauty of the Floral Hotel and its amazing people. One of the best hotels we’ve ever stayed at in China! We honestly didn’t expect to be this impressed. From the moment we arrived, everything was absolutely perfect. The hotel itself is incredibly beautiful and atmospheric. Every corner is thoughtfully designed, making it feel like you’re staying in a boutique museum rather than a hotel. The entire property is incredibly aesthetic, and every part of it is a perfect spot for beautiful photos. We stayed in a stunning two-level room, which completely exceeded our expectations. It was spacious, stylish, exceptionally comfortable, and spotlessly clean. Every little detail had been carefully considered. The location couldn’t be better—right in the heart of Datong Ancient Town. We could walk everywhere, with all the main attractions, restaurants, and beautiful streets just a few minutes away. The staff were some of the friendliest we’ve ever met. Everyone was genuinely welcoming, kind, and always happy to help, making us feel at home from the very first moment. Breakfast was also excellent. Instead of a buffet, a freshly prepared traditional Chinese breakfast was served each morning. It was delicious, beautifully presented, and the perfect start to the day. One of the nicest surprises was that guests can borrow traditional Chinese costumes free of charge for a photo shoot around the hotel. Unfortunately, we didn’t have enough free time to try it ourselves, but it’s such a wonderful idea and gives us another reason to come back. We travel a lot and have stayed in countless hotels around the world, so it’s actually very difficult to surprise us. But this hotel genuinely did. If it were possible to give 100 stars instead of 5, we absolutely would. Even if we really wanted to find something to complain about, we honestly couldn’t. Everything was simply perfect. Without any doubt, this is one of the best hotel experiences we’ve ever had. If we ever return to Datong, we won’t even consider staying anywhere else. We will definitely come back. Highly, highly recommended!

The brand really makes a difference; the quality is truly guaranteed. I've stayed at Huazhu before in Zhejiang, but this was my first time at Lux, and it's definitely a cut above. First off, the decor is incredibly distinctive – the furniture, bedding, oil paintings, and everything else show exceptional taste. The service was also incredibly thoughtful; they patiently explained local delicacies and sightseeing tips. Breakfast was great too, especially the knife-cut noodles, which tasted just as good as any outside noodle shop. We even made coffee soap! It's very convenient for visiting Daiwang Mansion and Huayan Temple. Highly recommended!

The environment here is great. It's located within the ancient city but away from the super crowded areas, so it's really quiet at night. The only downside is that cars aren't allowed in the ancient city, so dragging luggage can be a bit of a walk. The courtyard is perfect for a chat and a cup of tea; it's quite tranquil. The service was very good. You can tell they put a lot of thought into everything; it's all very refined. The afternoon tea was lovely, and both the dried apricots and mandarins were delicious. For breakfast, you can choose between lamb offal soup with rice noodles or刀削面 (daoxiao mian - knife-cut noodles). The facilities are quite comprehensive, with a coffee machine and a disposable bathtub liner. However, there's still room for improvement. The air conditioning in the room works, but it can make the air quite dry. The water heater is electric, and it's a bit tricky to get the hot and cold water balance just right. If two people shower consecutively, the next person has to wait quite a while. Overall, it's still a good place to stay. It's very convenient for exploring the ancient city, and it's not far to take a taxi to the grottoes.

The room was great, and the underfloor heating kept it very warm. The courtyard (siheyuan) is absolutely beautiful. The underground parking was also very convenient. The service was excellent. I didn't use my car for two days, so leaving wasn't the smoothest. I had to rush to Yungang Grottoes and left before 7 AM, getting a bit delayed at the entrance. The parking fee was 100 RMB (even though there was a free parking voucher, it didn't link successfully), but the owner paid it for me. This is a very responsible establishment, and both the owner and the housekeeper are wonderful. The location is super convenient, and the breakfast is incredibly delicious. Many thanks!

I booked a twin room for the summer. First, the good points: The hotel is very new, and there's a common area on the third floor atrium with a nice environment. The washing machines are good. Breakfast was great, and the breakfast staff and front desk personnel were very friendly. They provided toilet seat covers, which was excellent. It's about a 15-minute taxi ride to the ancient city, which isn't too far. Not far from the hotel, there's a main branch of a noodle shop where local residents have lunch and dinner. Now, for the downsides: Some rooms overlook the parking lot, so you might occasionally hear some car noise, but it's not too disruptive. The sink is right by the entrance, which makes the room feel a bit cramped, and the toilet is quite close to the bed. Overall, the price isn't expensive, and the service is good. There are a few minor drawbacks, but they are acceptable. I recommend Du Ji Sunit Hot Pot, about 2-3 kilometers away, and Long Ju Xiang's takeaway for milk skin yogurt!

Finally checked out Mercure 2.0, and the overall experience was excellent. Upon entering the lobby, you're greeted by a unique French fragrance, paired with soothing chandelier music, instantly relieving travel fatigue. The lobby bookshelves and curved seating create a great atmosphere, perfect for taking photos. The guest room features earth-toned furnishings with soft, pleasing rounded designs. The gradual lighting without a main light is a thoughtful touch. The Sealy mattress and down pillows ensured a good night's sleep. The bathroom was spacious, the shower had consistent water pressure, and the toiletries smelled luxurious. Self-check-in was quick, and the robot delivery service was very convenient. The breakfast was a highlight, featuring temperature-controlled French bread, a mix of Western and Chinese options, and a variety of flavors. A 24-hour gym and self-service laundry facilities are readily available, making it suitable for both leisure and business trips. The overall environment was quiet, clean, and the service was attentive – highly recommended.

Excellent service with a fantastic attitude. The location is super convenient, right next to Laoye Temple Flavored Restaurant and Kaige Restaurant. It's also just 2 kilometers in a straight line from the ancient city. The hotel's food and beverages are great value for money. Parking is hassle-free. The only downsides are that breakfast gets very crowded, and the quality and variety could be improved. Overall, it's a good hotel with great value, definitely recommended!
