"The location is absolutely fantastic, right in the heart of the ancient city. For dining: Xi Jin Dao is downstairs, Fenglin Pavilion is a 10-minute walk, and Long Juxiang offers delivery directly to your phone. Every time we took a taxi back to the inn, we'd get off at Huayan Hotel and walk two minutes. The popular Heshengcai is a 10-minute walk (though the taste was just so-so, and none of the pastries even had an ingredient list). For sights: Huayan Temple is a 5-minute walk. I visited Shanhua Temple at night, which was about a 15-minute walk. During the May Day holiday, there were only about 10 people in the entire temple at night, so we could enjoy a peaceful visit. On the way back and forth, we also saw the city wall's light show and passed through a lantern festival. Rumeng Datong (Dreams of Datong) was also within walking distance. Service was great too. On our last day, we had to leave for the train station at 7:30 AM, and the owner even packed breakfast for us. The lamb offal soup with vermicelli every morning was delicious. The furniture is all elm wood. The loft family room was perfect for our family of three. The only downsides were that the room rate was expensive during May Day, and the bathroom design was a bit impractical."

"My child absolutely loved this room! Besides being spacious, it was incredibly well-equipped. They even provided free earplugs and makeup remover wipes, not to mention complimentary tricycles and bicycles for exploring the ancient city. It was very quiet at night, making for a peaceful sleep. And the front desk staff? Their service was exceptional – truly made our stay comfortable and pleasant. The breakfast, served on a street in the ancient city, was just a few hundred meters away."

"Stepping into Datong Ancient City in the afternoon, the first pleasant surprise was stumbling upon Renyi Inn. The inn's antique courtyard, adorned with carved beams and painted rafters, and warm red lanterns, instantly brought a sense of calm. The family who runs the inn is incredibly humble and kind, their conversations warm and thoughtful, making you feel right at home. What's even more admirable is their exceptional care for animals; the inn is like a mini-zoo. They treat every little creature with gentleness and patience, which in turn fills the entire courtyard with life and spirit. Upon entering, a majestic grey parrot, both poised and lively, greeted me from the front desk – I'd never seen such a large pet parrot before! Two smaller parrots chirped happily nearby, completely unafraid of strangers, lively and adorable. Outside my room was a small courtyard with two tea tables. After a 'special forces'-style day of temple hopping, when I was tired to the point of tears, sitting there enjoying a cup of tea was incredibly relaxing. In the adjacent fish pond, a dozen or so vibrant koi, each weighing at least two to three pounds, swam gracefully, their bodies stretching elegantly. Next to the pond, a large and a small tortoise slowly ambled, quiet and therapeutic. In a corner cage, a tiny grey squirrel darted around, agile and playful. As dusk fell, watching the lights reflect on the pond and listening to the soft sounds of the small animals, the weariness of travel seemed to melt away in this gentle atmosphere, leaving my heart filled with peace and healing. I thought this wonderful experience was complete, but to my surprise, a new delight awaited me the next morning – two peacocks, 'Wenqing' (blue and white) and 'Xiaofeng' (emerald green), strolled leisurely in the courtyard with their magnificent tails fanned out – yes, they even have names! The eye-spots on their tail feathers shimmered, as if they were wearing the entire starry sky, beautiful like something straight out of an ancient painting. For a moment, I couldn't tell if I was in an inn or a secret wonderland. Renyi Inn is far more than just a place to stay; it's a hidden gem within the ancient city. The harmonious coexistence of people and animals creates a warm and healing atmosphere, adding countless gentle and delightful moments to this journey."

"Dig into a treasure high-end hotel, the big bed room experience is directly full! The room space is super large, and the living is not depressed at all! The quality of the bed is absolutely perfect, and I don't want to get up when I lie down. The quality of sleep is directly rising. The shower room is spacious and intimate, and the bath will never get cold water again. The coolest thing is the free minibar, coffee, tea, nuts, drinks are all available, and there is a sense of happiness while eating in the room. The toiletries are all high-end lines, even the hair dryer is Dyson, and the hair care is not wrong. "A perfect stay! This guesthouse truly exudes warmth and hospitality. From the moment I booked and connected with our concierge via WeChat, to the lovely aunties in the kitchen, and every single staff member, the genuine kindness was palpable. The guesthouse is quite new, yet there was absolutely no hint of a renovation smell. The family room, with one large double bed and one small double bed, was very comfortable for our family of three. After a tiring day out exploring, it was wonderful to sink into the spacious bed for a truly refreshing night's sleep. Breakfasts were always abundant and featured delicious local specialties. Starting the day with such a satisfying meal meant we could explore until noon without feeling hungry, even if we hadn't found a suitable restaurant yet! A special thanks to the two aunties in the kitchen, who were incredibly warm and thoughtful; their cooking perfectly suited our family's taste. Xiao Cheng, our concierge, was a beautiful and lovely girl. She proactively met us in the underground garage to help with our luggage, assisted with check-in, and even brought us warm 'goodnight soup' in the evenings, besides recommending some excellent restaurants. There was also Xiao Dang (I apologize, I didn't quite catch who this staff member was), who sent us daily weather forecasts and reminded us to adjust our clothing. Another male staff member shared local culinary delights and insights into the local culture. He even escorted us to the underground garage when we were driving away (and a big thank you to another female staff member who was also there!). We truly felt a comforting, family-like warmth. Our trip to Datong was a last-minute decision, but it turned out to be incredibly memorable and joyful, thanks to the dedication and hard work of all the staff at this guesthouse. If we get the chance to visit Datong again with friends and family, we will definitely choose this place again! I wish you all continued success in your business!"

"This hotel is grand and truly high-end. The location is excellent, with a large, free parking lot in both the front and back, so parking is never an issue. It's convenient for getting anywhere, with a bus stop right outside the entrance. When I booked on Trip.com, I used my Trip.com points to redeem the room fee, so for a good deal, I stayed in a standard room in Building B. The room facilities were also great, and from the north-facing room, you could see Datong Ancient City. The breakfast was quite good, with a rich variety. My standard room also came with a complimentary bathing pass for the hotel's bathhouse. That day, I walked over 21,000 steps exploring Datong, setting a new personal record for daily steps in recent years. After a full day of sightseeing, it was incredibly relaxing to soak in the hot bath for an hour at the bathhouse. The hotel itself is very, very spacious. Since it was a Sunday, I saw several wedding banquets being held at Jianguo Hotel, as well as birthday parties for children. My only regret was that my standard room in Building B didn't have a mini-fridge, so there was no place to store food I brought back from outside. All in all, it was excellent, and I would definitely consider staying at Datong Yungang Jianguo Hotel again if I have the chance."
