Guest UserA true gem of a hotel! It's exquisite, compact, and wonderfully quiet with excellent soundproofing. The staff provides exceptional, warm service. A few days before arrival, a butler reached out to confirm our itinerary. They offer a complimentary GL8 private car service for transfers to and from the station, and the butler promptly responds to any requests. Breakfast is a set menu; our room included two portions, which was more than enough for two adults and one child, especially since the noodles and drinks were unlimited. The most delightful surprise was the night amenities: face masks, earplugs, eye masks, and disposable bathtub liners – everything you could need! Upon departure, we received a thoughtful souvenir: a beautiful shoulder bag filled with Datong specialties like millet, dried apricots, yogurt, and oil tea. An all-around fantastic experience!

A very cozy and comfortable B&B, located right in the ancient town's pedestrian street, offering a peaceful retreat amidst the bustling area. The courtyard is spacious, the rooms are clean, and all amenities are of high quality. Breakfast is plentiful, and the staff are friendly. The location is excellent, with all of the ancient town's attractions within walking distance, which is great when traveling with kids as it saves a lot of hassle. Plus, many popular restaurants often have long queues, but because this place is so close, you can easily grab takeout and enjoy your meal back at the hotel, saving a lot of waiting time. I'll definitely stay here again next time I visit Datong.

Behind the grey walls and blue tiles, you can feel the gentle embrace of times gone by. The courtyard's tree shadows dance with red lanterns, creating a beautiful scene. Inside, the warm light illuminates the original wooden beams. The courtyard itself has been redecorated since my last visit, with tree shadows weaving patterns of light on the flagstones. Every breath here brings a sense of relaxation, so characteristic of Datong. The service is attentive but never intrusive. Here, time slows down to just the right pace, perfect for turning a holiday into poetry. In summary: My favorite and most recommended hotel in Datong!
Welcome fruit: So sweet!
Minibar: Features local sea buckthorn, a must-try!

Guest UserThe entire hotel boasts great design, but the service doesn't quite live up to it. Firstly, upon arriving at the lobby, there was no one at the entrance to guide us or any bell staff to help with luggage. I even wondered if the hotel had no bellhops at all. Once in the room, I tried to charge my camera for later use. After plugging it in for over ten minutes, I realized it wasn't charging. I even suspected my camera was faulty, not the outlet. So, I messaged the front desk, and a technician came to fix it. After moving the cabinet, they told us it would take an unknown amount of time to repair, so they moved us to another room. When we switched rooms, I also mentioned that the room felt a bit cold. The staff explained that since the hotel uses central air conditioning, only AC was available during this season. They offered to turn off the AC and send two heaters to the new room, which I agreed to. However, the heaters never arrived, even by checkout. When I brought it up during checkout, the hotel probably felt they were in the wrong, so they waived our 208 RMB dining bill. The resolution was decent, but considering this is the priciest hotel room in Datong, these basic issues shouldn't occur. I hope next time they can inspect room facilities in advance to ensure everything is in order before selling them. Switching rooms back and forth was also quite time-consuming.

I stayed for 3 days and was very satisfied! On the first night, I checked in around 10 PM. I had booked a twin room by mistake, but after speaking with the front desk, they changed it to a business king room. There was already fruit in the room. The breakfast buffet the next morning, although crowded, had a rich variety of fresh dishes, which I was very pleased with. For dinner on the second night, I chose the hotel's Chinese restaurant on the 11th floor. They had a set meal for 2-3 people for only 98 RMB, which was incredibly good value for money. For two consecutive nights, I received late-night snacks and thoughtful cards. My stay was excellent, and it left me with a very positive impression of Datong.

Guest User100% full marks, absolutely glowing review! The room was clean and spacious, and the bed was very comfortable. It's super convenient to get to the Ancient City by taxi, taking only about ten minutes, and even at night, it doesn't cost more than 20 RMB. The hotel also has an underground parking garage, so the car isn't hot at all when you get in. I absolutely have to rave about the breakfast – it was mind-blowing!!! I loved the lamb offal noodle soup; it wasn't too salty and had no ***** smell, truly excellent. There was also a great variety of other dishes. I've had the German sausage before at the Nanjing intercity hotel, and it's really good; it must be a hotel specialty. I'll definitely choose this hotel again just for the breakfast, haha!

Guest UserLet's start with the positives:
1. The room was spacious.
2. The staff provided excellent service.
3. The breakfast was delicious, even though the variety wasn't extensive, the quality made up for it.
Now for the negatives:
1. The room facilities were far from what you'd expect from a five-star or luxury hotel. The soundproofing was incredibly poor; we could clearly hear the water running from upstairs and doors opening and closing next door. We stayed in the main building, so I'm not sure if the villa area would be any better.
2. This hotel allows pets. Unfortunately, there was a dog barking continuously at 11 PM and again at 7 AM. Despite contacting the front desk, nothing changed. I don't quite understand the hotel's positioning – they claim to be a secluded, '人间桃花源' (a tranquil haven), emphasizing peace and quiet. Yet, it turned out to be the noisiest five-star hotel I've ever stayed in. Imagine wanting to sleep in after a hot spring bath the day before – it would be incredibly frustrating.
3. The hotel's location is very remote. It's almost impossible to get a taxi from the hotel, so guests should plan their transportation carefully.
In summary:
I won't be returning. The experience was very disappointing. The only reason for the given score is the excellent service from the staff and the nearby hot spring experience. Of course, the hot spring isn't included in the hotel stay and requires a separate ticket purchase.

This hotel's location truly understands tourists! Not only is it close to all the major attractions, but just a few steps downstairs you'll find a bustling commercial street and a food paradise. It's incredibly convenient for late-night strolls and dining. Getting a taxi or ride-share nearby is also super quick, so you don't have to wait around. It really offers a one-stop solution for eating, drinking, playing, and shopping, making the travel experience absolutely perfect.

Let me talk about the pros. The breakfast was quite plentiful and tasty, 68 yuan per person. Our child, being 15, paid an extra 40 yuan. We booked three rooms together. The rooms were decent for a five-star hotel, and the lobby was beautiful. Now for areas for improvement. Aside from the good security guard at the entrance, the service could be better. Since it's a hot spring hotel, the hot spring itself is important, but it was rather mediocre. Of the 12 pools, some were 58 degrees Celsius, some 48 degrees, and only a few were usable and small. Also, because so many people were crammed into a few pools, they became quite dirty. All three families stayed for an hour before leaving. There were too many access control points. For a hotel in such a remote area, I don't understand why there were so many access control points and card swiping systems; it was very inconvenient. I didn't intend to give a low score because the front desk gave us a complimentary breakfast, which was a concession.

Guest UserFirst, the pros: the rooms were large, nice, and clean. 👌
The cons: the lobby was messy, and many people were smoking there. 🚬
The hot spring tickets were included, but we couldn't get in because it was too crowded; they told us to come back in the morning.
The elevator smelled strongly of rotten cafeteria food.
The breakfast food was mediocre.
This isn't the chain Joya Hotel; it's a bathhouse hotel.
