2-Star Hotels in Datong

This hotel is located in the heart of the ancient city of Datong. Although there were few steps of staircase leading to the entrance of the hotel and the reception was on level 2 and our room type was only available on the 3rd level. Upon check in the hotel staff by the name of Xiao Guo was very helpful and she helped us to carry our luggages to our room at level 3.. There was a small window in our room overseeing the street. The room was spacious and very clean. All corners, fixtures and furnitures in our room were wiped very clean. All amenities were provided inside the room too. The bed mattress and pillow were soft and very comfortable. Body gel, hair shampoo, hair conditioner, hand wash and clothing detergent were all good quality. 2 water bottles, toothbrush, hair comb and slippers were provided in the room. There were space to hang our winter clothing and also washed socks and inner wears. The air-conditioner was superb as it can be adjusted to 4 types of air:normal, wet reduction, cold air and warm air, hence it made our stay more comfortable. There was also an air freshener machine in the room to refresh the air inside the room. So far this is the cleanest hotel room throughout all my China trips. The housekeeper was friendly and ensure the room being cleaned up daily. Overall, I would like to compliment the hotel staff by the name of Xiao Guo for her hospitality and kindness in helping us when we asked her for any information about Datong and places to eat. Xiao Guo always smilling and her warmness has let us felt very welcomed as a hotel guest. Another compliment was to be given to the housekeeper old lady who really did a great job to ensure the cleanliness of our hotel room and the entire hotel public areas. Highly recommended this hotel to all tourist.

The environment is very clean. I stayed in room 8106, a six-person dorm, and the bedding was very comfortable. There are also leisure and entertainment areas, as well as an e-sports zone, where you can meet like-minded friends. The owner is also very enthusiastic and accommodating. Highly recommended!

We had a happy experience checking in at this hotel. The receptionist was very pleasant and helpful. We loved our room! It was bright and cheerful and spacious. The shower and drainage was very good. Location is fantastic, near the railway station and many bus services, especially for going to Yungang grottoes. There was a mall, with a hypermarket in the basement and minimarts around. What we like most was there was a washing machine and dryer for guests to use, free of charge! If we ever come to Datong again, we would stay here. Highly recommend this place!

This time to Datong, choosing to stay at Shengyajuju is really the wisest decision! From booking to leaving the store, the whole experience is impeccable. Location: The location of the homestay is quiet, it is very convenient to go to the core attractions such as the ancient city wall, Huayan Temple, Kowloon Wall and other attractions, and it is within walking distance. The surrounding life is convenient, but it will not be too noisy, and the rest is very quiet at night. Environmental facilities: I was deeply attracted as soon as I entered the door! The decoration is very distinctive, perfectly integrating classical Chinese aesthetics and modern comfort. The room was spotless, the bedding was soft and comfortable, and I lay on it to remove the fatigue of the journey. The facilities are full marks, high-definition projection, first-class quality toiletries, details can feel the owner's intentions everywhere. Warm service: The hospitality of the boss and staff makes people feel at home. The room introduced the play guide and food map, helping to book tickets, and saving a lot of worry. Featured experience: I have to mention the breakfast near his home! The authentic Shanxi characteristics are clean and delicious, and they are full of energy for a day of play. Ok so here is my Honest review of this brand new hotel in Datong. I understand this is a brand new hotel so I hope this could help as a honest review. -Staff are helpful even for foreigners. They do their best to accommodate your questions and are very friendly. -Rooms are clean with all the necessary amenities. -Rooms dont smell like cigarettes/smoke unlike gmost other hotels. -Rooms are fairly spacious. -location is good, its still a fair 15-20min walk to alot of the sights such as the wall or the drama play but it is close to the fortress wall down south. -WIFI is very good, great signal. Things that i think need working on - The hotel is a little bit difficult to find, i dont recall seeing a sign, maybe becsuse it is brand new. I had to go into a neighbouring hotel to ask if it was the correct one and they helped me call this hotel and actually guided me here. - Although it says I have a courtyard window it is actually facing inside (as the rooms are undeeground) and the window is facing the hall way lol. - my biggest complaint is the lack of toilet roll, i was given one roll (which is fine) but the next day they didnt replenish it resulting in me running out...luckily I always keep tissue with me (A must in china for the public toilets) - As its basement level its hard to pick up reception on your phone. Overall, value for money I think is great for the location and the cleanliness. A few things to work on but its understandable for a new business.

The room is large and well decorated. The bed and pillows are very comfortable. The disposable slippers are very high-end. The whole house is smart. It's just that the air conditioner is a bit smelly and then turns off after ten minutes. The two beds in the house are very good. The only flaw is I feel that the glass in the bathroom and shower room should be covered with frosted film so that it cannot be seen through. After all, the two beds must be shared by a family. It is not convenient to have transparent glass with a film that does not provide privacy. Overall, it is very good and worth it. recommend

Extremely happy with my stay here! Room is very spacious and clean, and I was within walking distance to most of the attractions and restaurants. The staff here are very friendly and they always went out of their way to make my experience in Datong memorable! I'm especially grateful because the manager showed me how to order food from local restaurants using my phone and get it delivered straight to my room! 10/10!!

I visited here while traveling alone in Datong, and I am extremely satisfied with my stay. The facilities are top-notch, and the environment is very clean and convenient. Above all, the staff were incredibly friendly, making me feel right at home. I really enjoyed watching movies and World Cup matches on the large screen, and the location is fantastic since it’s close to the city center.

Perfect little place, inside the ancient city. Owners are great. You can ask them for help for getting to attractions. Would recommend 100% !
