YYinyuezouqiI had a thoroughly satisfying 3-day, 2-night New Year's Eve stay. I also got to experience the lively atmosphere at Dianchi Town (Outlet). The hotel's location is excellent, right in the Wangfujing Outlet at the Convention and Exhibition Center, making dining and shopping very convenient. As for the hotel itself, the overall service was exceptional; the staff were friendly, attentive, and responsible. The rooms were spacious with unique layouts, and while the breakfast selection wasn't huge, every item was high quality. Lunch was a fixed set menu, one portion per person, and it was quite tasty.
I do have one suggestion: since the hotel is on the third floor of a shopping center, it's genuinely hard to find for first-time visitors. Although the hotel has put up a sign near a certain underground parking entrance in the plaza (as pictured), taxis and ride-sharing apps can't pinpoint the exact location. Could there be a larger, more prominent sign? The first time, because I was dropped off about 20 meters away, I spent over 10 minutes searching up and down and all around for the elevator entrance (because navigation can't differentiate between floors). On subsequent trips back, not a single driver managed to pull up to the correct spot.

Jjy****After a lot of deliberation, we chose the Grand Hyatt for our last night in Kunming, and it didn't disappoint. The location is excellent, not too far from both the high-speed train station and the airport. The front desk upgraded our room, and Walter Yu provided exceptional butler service during our stay. The breakfast was plentiful, with both Western and Chinese options, and the array of special Yunnan snacks was particularly appealing.

Qqxc1963The rooms are clean and tidy, the service is warm and attentive, and the facilities are complete. The lobby has a strong artistic design. The hotel also features a hot spring, swimming pool, and gym. The environment is beautiful, a garden-style hotel with lush greenery, quiet, and within walking distance to Haigeng Dam, Yunnan Nationalities Village, and Haigeng Park. The hotel's breakfast offers a wide variety, and the Chinese restaurant serves delicious food, especially the clay pot rice. We initially planned to stay for two days but extended our stay for a few more.

MMarc1The hotel is beautifully located by a serene, quiet lake, making it an excellent choice for a relaxing stay. It is particularly popular among families with children, creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere.
The breakfast is fantastic, especially if you go early in the morning when the food is freshly prepared. However, later in the day, the selection may not be as fresh.
While the staff does not speak English, navigating your stay is still manageable with some basic Chinese and the help of Google Translate—just as it is in many parts of China.
I highly recommend booking a room with a spa on the balcony. These rooms are located on the second floor, offering greater privacy and more outdoor space. The spa feature itself can be a bit tricky to use—you need to ensure the water level is just right, as too much or too little will prevent it from working properly.
Overall, the hotel is very clean, and the staff is accommodating and responsive to any requests. If you’re looking for a peaceful getaway with excellent amenities, this is a great choice.

GGuest UserThe front desk service was exceptional. Our room was spacious and bright. The front desk staff, especially the young lady, were incredibly friendly and thoughtful. They even gave us a complimentary room upgrade since we were traveling with a child. This will definitely be our top choice hotel for future trips to Kunming!

Breakfast provided were good with varieties of western and Chinese type.
Location was convenient to go to places of
interests.
Except the air fragrance used in the room were strong unfortunately causes allergy reactions to one of my daughter. We had to used a plastic bag to cover them up which helped to reduce her allergic reactions.
Overall, it is a nice and clean hotel with convenient locations to food and easy travel distances to travel around Kunming.

MM10491****The location is excellent, within walking distance to Kunming Old Street and Green Lake Park. Getting a taxi is also convenient. There are many snack shops nearby, and the local chicken rice noodles are amazing.
The room was very clean and tidy, which I was very happy with. The service was very warm, and the staff would actively greet you when they saw you. There's also complimentary afternoon tea and evening desserts. Upon check-in, they gave us hot and delicious flower pastries, which I actually think are better than those from Jia Hua.

MM884917****This hostel is right in the core area of Jinma Biji Archway, within walking distance to Nanping Street and Kunming Old Street, making it super convenient for all your dining, entertainment, and shopping needs. The bunk beds are incredibly well-designed, each with its own charging port, reading light, and storage compartment, offering maximum privacy. The 24-hour front desk staff are warm and reliable, and you can even store your luggage for free. The common areas are spacious, and the terrace and billiards room are perfect for socializing. It's spotlessly clean and offers great value for money. I'll definitely stay here again next time I'm in Kunming!

Before we even arrived, she proactively reached out to understand our needs and reserved a room with an incredible view of Dianchi Lake. The floor-to-ceiling windows offered breathtaking panoramic scenery of the lake and mountains. During our stay, she patiently introduced us to the facilities, including the breakfast restaurant on the 49th floor and the executive lounge. She also shared travel tips for attractions like Xunzhen New Village and Cuihu Park, and even provided us with a local guide and food recommendations. From promptly addressing our requests to her meticulous attention to detail, Mia's professionalism and warmth perfectly embodied French hospitality, making us feel incredibly welcomed. On our next visit to Kunming, we will definitely choose Sofitel again, and a special thanks to Mia for her dedicated efforts!

MM337001****The room was very clean, and there were lockers with electronic locks for valuables. The AC's heating was on even in winter, so it was warm sleeping at night. The public bathrooms were shared for showering, but there was never a wait. Every day, they provided a free bottle of water, which I always took with me when I went out, saving me money on buying water.
The food at the restaurant was delicious 😋, and the price matched the quality.
Also, a huge thank you to the owner 🌹! I stayed in a 6-bed dorm for a few days, and on the last day, when I was supposed to move to an 8-bed dorm, the owner kept my bed in the 6-bed dorm for me~
