I use the bar @ the Cocked hat on occasions, but fair to say only in the summer time when I can sit outside, in the event we have to retire indoors due to weather / temp outside I elect to finish any drink we have and leave rather than continue the drinking in the bar. The reason for this is simply a tired establishment that needs attention with no atmosphere, which I why I think that rarely has any clientele post 9.30, some how it needs to re-establish itself as place to drink & though I accept it main function is the restaurant but that through experience serves ordinary food sadly. This is an opinion I have had for many years which based on that can see the approach changing.

We stayed here for 2 nights. Our room was small but comfortable. Bed was comfortable. The bathroom really needs a good clean with bleach to remove the black mould around the bath/shower. It's a bit out of the way with no other options for meals except at the pub the hotel is attached to. The food from the pub is okay, nothing special and expensive. Out of the 3 meals we had there (2 dinners and 1 breakfast) every one was missing a main ingredient. Our lamb kofta came without the yoghurt and mint sauce, the mixed grain hallumi salad came without the mixed grains or the hallumi, and the breakfast berry yoghurt bowl came wiht one strawberry sliced paper thin and no muesli. Every query came with a "sorry about that - we're out". The one good thing was plenty of parking.

Good point, food was fine Far from good:- The place looks uncared for, paintwork peeling off the exterior, weeds in pavement, grass needing cutting. Our room was ok but the loo seat was loose and the bath panel trim was disgusting needing cleaning and painting. We won't be returning

Rooms were very dated and carpets dirty and were worn. Bathroom had no window and the shower had a lot mold so didn’t even use it. Sheets were lovely and clean and the bed was comfortable. Okay if needing a 1 night stay but personally would not return. Price for a twin rooms over priced compared to other places.

I've been to the cocked hat quite a few times and I have been served by Morgan she is always a pleasure. She always smiles and makes you feel welcome. I will definitely comeback again. That Morgan, and the cocked hat hope to see you again soon

From the moment I arrived after a long journey, the staff were lovely. I was greeted with a smile and nothing was to much trouble. The bedroom was clean and tidy, and the bed was very comfortable. We ate in the restaurant on both nights of our stay and the food was amazing again along with all the servers. We will definitely be visiting again.

The food was very nice.Just one problem, the steak was a bit cold. They did offer me an extra drink.But I did not want that. But they did take the drinks that we had off the bill. This was not what we were looking for. We just wanted a really nice experience and good food. Our waitress did look after us and she was very good. Her name was Many. We will go again and hopefully the experience will be very good or excellent. If the steak was hotter, I would give a better review. regards Ronnie.

Very good place to come for a friendly catch up, brilliant food and brilliant service from the young girl Morgan!!! Will definitely be returning. Couldn't recommend enough to anyone thinking of coming to this pub, it will not dissapoint..
