Behind us is David's Church and a small area of tombstones. It was a bit scary to see them when we arrived at night, but I participated in church activities during the day, and understood the local culture. I also found the culture shock quite interesting. In the following days, I would walk through the cemetery to take a shortcut.

I was given Room 2 on the ground floor and it was an insult. It was very small and too small for me and I am not a big person. It would not be given to a man and that is why I think it is an insult to give it to a solo woman. And a big woman would hardly be able to turn around in it. The furniture consisted of a bed, pushed under the window, a shelf at the end of it, a small roll-top desk and a chair. The space between was tiny. And the shower was miniscule. This hotel was chosen as being close to rail links and to the city. We arrived early because bad weather prevented our planned activity. The manager was helpful and accommodating and, by luck, our room was ready, so we checked in. We tried to explore a bit of Exeter, but the rain was very determined; in the end we had a picnic supper in our room - which was easy because the room had a table and chairs. Next morning, we were able to leave our bags until a bit before check-in reopened, so we were able to do our exploring unencumbered. If we come back to Exeter, I know where we'll be staying!

Such a stylish and comfortable B & B in a very nice quiet part of the city. Our room was lovely, lots of artwork and stylish touches, comfy bed and lots of space. The breakfasts are such fun! A sort of picnic hamper, with lots of choice, delivered (with no intrusion) to your door each morning. I love this place, the best B&B in Exeter I think, we will definitely choose to stay here again.

A lovely quiet, friendly place to stay for a night. Clean and comfortable. Reasonably priced. I wouldn’t call it luxurious/ the shower room was small but perfectly adequate. Comfy beds , squishy pillows and breakfast was excellent. Can I suggest 2 teapots for 2 guests? They hold barely 2 cups.

Lovely big room, nice decor, great breakfast and helpful friendly hosts Tim and Ken. Good location short walk to High street and eateries. Beautiful old church and graveyard next door, Exeter Cathedral and Quay is also only a short walk away.

The Townhouse is an excellent place to stay in Exeter. We thoroughly enjoyed the room, the food, and the Prosecco! The location makes walking to the city center and cathedral convenient The garden is a relaxing haven and we very much enjoyed our time in Exeter with Ken and Tim!

We spent two lovely nights at the Townhouse Exeter in June 2024. The 2nd day we were there, I accidently left my wallet in a town over an hour away while on a tour of Devon. The Townhouse director was wonderful in helping us figure out how to retrieve my wallet, calling a local taxi/car service, working with our tour guide to pick up our luggage, and ensuring that our trip could continue on a positive note. A special thanks for making this a special stay for us.

A warm welcome, a spacious, comfortable room, digital DAB radio setting the tone. Luxurious bed, comfy pillows. En suite. Teas,coffee, biscuits. Breakfast hamper was sublime. Close to St David's Station. And the city centre. Perfect place to stay in Exeter. I shall return for sure.
