The hotel was so clean, the service by the concierge was so friendly and approachable. Helped us to push and carry our luggage till our room door. The convenience stalls nearby made breakfast and supper a perfect go to! It was a good stay nearby the onsen which has free access for staying guests! The carpark was just located downstairs that you could also see your car! Love the visit! And will want to come back again!

This lovely hotel (its a bit dated, but everything is clean and very nice) is right on the lake, and very quiet. Its 10 minutes driving distance from the Kawaguchi-Ko bus stand/train station and there is a free hotel shuttle every hour. I would definitely go for rooms with a view - either of the lake, or of Fujisan. We went for rooms with lake view, and very much enjoyed it. The rooms are big and very comfortable, with a desk, an armchair and a sofa. There is also a small balcony, with amazing views of the lake. Its so peaceful, especially in the early morning or during sunset. The hotel is located in a large garden. There is an indoor and lovely outdoor onsen, where you can bath in the warm water whilst seeing bamboo and hearing birds. Breakfast is a good buffet. The restaurant for dinner is rather expensive, so i would recommend eating in one of the few restaurants in the small town.

We are glad to have stayed in Fuji Matsuzono Hotel. The room was spacious and comfortable for a family of 3 and there was a small table with 2 chairs that allowed us to sit around to have some late night snacks and drinks. The staff was also very friendly and helpful. When I approached them at 1am for an additional pillow, they immediately attended to the request. The bath area for the onsen was clean and spacious. The amenities provided were also good quality. There is also a great selection of food during breakfast. Most importantly, room was facing Mt Fuji and we managed to get a nice morning view of Mt Fuji when we woke up. The view was spectaculars and there is a nice courtyard that one can take nice photos with Mt fuji in the background. The hotel is also located in a very convenience location. Once you exit the hotel, you will see Lake Yamanakako and there were many eateries nearby, all within walking distance. As we drove, it was also convenience that Lawson and 7-11 is less than 5 min drive away. Will definitely visit again.

This is the second time staying in Fuji Ginkei, while the first time was in 2017. The reason I chose it when I went to Kawaguchiko the second time was the perfect location, service, and food when I stayed in 2017. First, I should thank the hotel staff. As you might know, it is tough for solo travelers to book a Ryokan room. As a search around the hotel list, which I think is perfect for the stay, Fuji Ginkei is one of a few hotels which said OK. I appreciate it. The location is perfect as you can see the lake and mountain simultaneously. For Kawaguchiko, only a few hotels have this kind of view. When you arrive at the Kawaguchiko station, don't forget to call them, and they will pick you up. However, when you live, if you want to take their shuttle bus, you need to check their shuttle bus schedule. I choose the Japanese-style room which a balcony since I want to take many photos from my room. It is worth it as the view from the room is perfect. I can stay in the room and watch Mount Fuji all afternoon. It even has an individual bathroom in the room, which is kind of rare. If you stay in the hotel in Winter, don't forget to use the outdoor onsen. It will be freezing to get in and out, but it is worth it as you will see a very clear sky and many stars when using the outdoor onsen. You will never forget it. Moreover, don't forget to go lakeside, which is only a few meters away. You can take perfect photos of the lake, Mount Fuji and the stars. It is impressive. Service is as good as before, which you can imagine. When you are having breakfast and dinner, the staff will talk with you, introducing the dish and telling you much exciting and helpful information. For once, I was discussing さかさふじ with them and really learned a lot. The dish is good. As I stayed for two nights, I think the first night's dinner was better than the second. For breakfast, I don't have too many things to say. Overall, the dish tasted good but not as impressive as in 2017, maybe because I tried some Michelin during these years, which increased my standard. Overall, it is an excellent hotel, and the price is not that high compared to other hotels around Kawaguchiko. Once again, is it worthy.

Second visit. Mt. Fuji is clear in winter. In the morning, I went to the illumination square in front of the restaurant because it was Akafuji before sunrise. From the right end to red purple, when the sunrise started at about 1 / 3, I returned to the magnificent Fuji, but the sunrise on the left, the full moon on the upper right, and Mt. Fuji in the middle. I have to see this. Under the sunrise is the sea of clouds in Lake Yamanaka. The view that there is everything to see. Since there are many families, the rooms are large and you can see Lake Yamanaka and Mt. Fuji from all rooms. The bath is on the 2nd floor with B1 and the mountain trail is clear from the observation bath. You should see people in the season. It is a good hotel that is calm.

We enjoyed the gorgeous fuji view from the room which was exactly the same as the photo we saw online. The hotel provided free warm packs and snacks in the lobby which was caring. There were also welcoming snacks in the room. However, as far as we know, the hotel provides free shuttle service to/from Kawaguchiko station but it was disappointing that there were no way to book online. I tried to contact the hotel directly via email but received no response from them. Eventually, we took a bus from Kawaguchiko station and walked up the hill with our luggages, which was very inconvenient. Besides, the dinner style/menu was only available at dinner time so we couldn’t take it into consideration when we decided the date of our stay. Other than the above, the overall experience was nice with high CP value.

It is the first time to stay at an inn or hotel along the shojin lake. You can see shojin lake and Mt. Fuji from the room, and the scenery is very good. Especially when you sit in the zashiki and look at it, you can't see the road in front of the inn, there is nothing extra building, only the mountains, the sea and the lake are visible and it is a picture-like view. The room was already covered with futons. Wi-Fi is connected to the room. The toilet was the latest style with the lid open freely. The bath used the view rental bath on the first day. The guests can use it for free once per stay (30 minutes reservation system once). In the rental open-air bath, two people are put in the top, but the washroom is quite narrow and only one person can use it. There was a body soap, rinse in shampoo and soap. The dressing washroom area is not so narrow. The next morning, I went to the public bath (the hot spring name is Kamiku Onsen). The open-air bath is the size of a semi open-air bath. There was a washroom in the inner bath 6. There is no makeup water in the wash area. Dinner at the restaurant was set on the table except for rice miso soup, but every item seemed delicious and actually all delicious. The sake was 3000 yen for a wine bottle from Yamanashi, and if it was made into a white wine of Koshu grape of Manz wine, it was good for the dish. There were also 2100 yen for import & Yamanashi grape wine bottles. Breakfast was a balanced Japanese meal. It was good not to be able to bake eggs and bake cherry blossoms. The view from the shojin lake and Mt. Fuji restaurant at breakfast was also good. As I arrived, I went to this place as a private inn, but at the end, ”this is a hole in Fuji Goko. The scenery of Fuji and Lake is good, the meal is delicious, and the view from the hot spring is good. It was not a modern inn, but it was kept clean and was a good inn with outstanding views.

We were greeted by the stunning views of the lake the moment we stepped into the hotel lobby. The room was lovely as well, with a similarly beautiful view of the lake. Thankfully, we were placed on the same floor as the lobby, as the hotel did not seem to have any lifts. We opted for both dinner and breakfast to be included in the plan, and they were a delectable spread. However, I would note that the service during mealtimes seemed to be more curt, and the servers seemed to be in a hurry to serve the courses, and did not really explain to us what we were having. The food, however, was without a fault. As the hotel is set on a rather steep hill, it would be better to contact the hotel for them to pick you up from the station or to send you to the station. Do note that the shuttle service does not run between 11am and 2pm though. Overall, a good option for a traditional stay in the Kawaguchiko area.

A bit similar to a family hotel, the room is divided into two floors upstairs and downstairs, the downstairs has a courtyard for dining, bathing and bathing, and the upstairs is a bedroom. The decoration is very good and very new. You can directly see Mt. Fuji from the upstairs and downstairs of the room. The supplies and facilities are high-grade. There are a lot of drinks in the small refrigerator. The kaiseki dinner is also very good. The private soup is so comfortable.

Marriott staff welcomed us at the curb side. Check in was painless and soon we were off to our room. In room hot springs was a pleasant touch. The room was spacious and very comfortable. Even the Japanese pillows were soft and cozy. The food was top notch and catered to every taste. We opted for the dinner package—well worth the money. After dinner we rang for a late night massage…should have rethought that one. Asked for two therapist and got one. She had no clue what a massage was! Seriously!!! She literally poked at me with her finger tips. The pushed my head agains the pillow for ten minutes. Finally was had enough and she was dismissed with her full pay. Noted, she was not affiliated with the hotel, she was merely the lady they called. Please never call her again! Loved the hotel and the view. A must for anyone wanting a quiet getaway.

GGuest UserI stayed at the Kogetsu for 2 nights in May and it was an unforgettable experience. Every detail was beautiful and thoughtful. I booked rather late and was not able to book the same room, so the first night I stayed in a Standard Western Style twin w open-air bath; and the second night in a Standard Japanese Modern w open-air bath (Triple). Both were on the 3rd (of 5) floors and both had stunning views of Mt Fuji. Both incorporated both Japanese and Western style. The first room had wood floors throughout and half-shoji screen doors so you could separate the bedroom and dining areas. It also had a small walk-in closet. The outdoor onsen was quite large (could easily fit 4 adults) and the patio was wider than in the Triple room. I posted pics of the Standard Western Style Twin and will post the pics of the Triple separately. In contrast the Triple room was larger and there was a gorgeous daybed (which becomes the 3rd bed) with windows on either side overlooking Mt Fuji. The onsen was a bit smaller (could easily fit 2 adults). The bedroom was carpeted, dining area had tatami-style mats, and hallway had wood floors. There was a wardrobe rather than walk-in closet in this room. Both rooms had a wet area for washing up before the onsen, a separate powder room, and separate toilet room. Honestly, you can’t go wrong - both rooms were gorgeous. I felt lucky to be here. One thing to note is that there is a boat launch beside the ryokan, so my open-air onsen on 3rd floor was not super private (there’s a screen to pull down if you want privacy, but it obscures the view). The 4th/5th floors would have more feeling of privacy. The kaiseki meals were beautifully displayed and delicious. The 2 nights’ menus were different but followed a similar (but not identical) format: 1) Aperitif, 2) Seasonal appetizers, 3) Soup, 4) Sashimi, 5) Main course (hot), 6) Steamed fish, 7) Grilled fish, 8) Palette cleanser, 9) simmered dish, 10) rice dish, and 11) dessert. My nakai, Fumiko-san, was lovely - friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. Breakfast was also included - it was half- buffet, with an elegant bento box with appetizers and tamago. It also included delicious tempura, made to order and delivered to your table. The hotel has a happy hour from 2:30-6:30 where a limited selection of tea, coffee, nonalcoholic drinks, beer and wine are free. You can enjoy them on the gorgeous terrace overlooking Mt Fuji with your feet soaking in the footpath (just not in your room). Lastly there are shuttles every morning to Kawaguchiko Station or any of the tourist sights on the way, and the hotel will send a shuttle to pick you up when you are ready to come back. The location of this ryokan could not be better - close to some great museums and on the North shore of the lake, which has the best views (and away from the touristy South shore).

GGuest UserThe location of the hotel is fantastic for sunset viewing. There is plenty of parking across the road, with a surfeit of basically unnecessary staff. We had a reasonable-sized room with large windows and a wonderful panorama of the lake and Mount Fuji. That's all that's positive. The hotel is in two parts: the original building and an annexe. It is NOT suitable for wheelchair users trying to get to a restaurant. There are too many steps, twists and turns. There are lifts to find rooms in part A or part B, and the locations of the onsens (which switch between male and female every day - nice views, though). The signage is rare and confusing. As a stocky European (100Kg), I had immense difficulty sleeping on a very thin futon. The electric heater in the room blasts an unhealthy stream of hot air. Switch off this health risk and you FREEZE (we were there in late October). The hotel is relatively expensive, so you'd expect quality rooms. What you get is the uniform Japanese army-style sp****, goose**** green-walled room that you'd find in business hotels at half the room rate of this laughingly named 'NEW CENTURY' place. Minimalist, to say the least (in reality, pinched, lacking in generosity and well-being). At least there was a fridge (with a freezer icebox!!) In a series of measures as a response to the risks of COVID, there were no real glasses - just paper cups, and a message asking you to close the toilet lid before flushing. Disappointingly, the toilet was untypically low quality - no little hand-washing basin and fountain on the top of the toilet, and thus no towel in the toilet itself. (So, mucky hands grasping two sets of door handles to wash your hands. How's that for customary Japanese hygiene?) We (a group of 13 people - I was the only gaijin...) had booked an evening meal, room and breakfast the next morning. Dinner? Again, for the price, you'd expect a nice piece of fish (probably from the lake) right? NO way. We got a few bits of sukiyaki, and mean little dishes with bits and pieces of this and that... I've eaten MUCH better food in izakayas and bars throughout Japan. My opinion was echoed by most of our party. Breakfast was below ordinary. Simple, plain, dull. Something to dispense with quickly. Taking fuel on board, that's all. The service in the restaurant was desultory (= awful, ungracious). During dinner, a stocky old lady granted me the opportunity to be bumped TWICE by her capacious bottom as she served the person next to me. I complained and pushed back, to the accompaniment of giggles from her lithe, unobtrusive colleagues. Mercifully I was spared any further encounter with this voluminous rear end at breakfast. The staff at breakfast time were a) limited in number b) slow and c) VERY detached. One had the feeling they were cleaning staff put into waiting uniforms. Per person, we paid over 13,000 yen. Frankly, an outrageous price. The ONLY benefit was the view. For that, you don't need a hotel room. A bus tour will

JJaniceIf you are looking for a zen accommodation that is far and away from the hustle and bustle, one that exudes tranquility, has the perfect Mt Fuji view with no photobomb (no one to vie with you for the best view / photo spot) and is new, modern and basically impeccable a room, this is the right hotel for you. I have almost nothing but praises for this accommodation except perhaps its location. As it is allll the way up the hilly area and right on the opposite side of Lake Kawaguchiko’s main bustling area, you can really only rely on 1) their shuttle service which has pretty limited timings (last shuttle at 4.30pm) cos after all it’s mostly meant for shuttling guests on arrival only 2) taxi which is expensive ~ 10mins ride up for 3,000 yen 3) driving your own vehicle. Apart from its distant proximity to the station and all, it really is the best kind of accommodation where it’s almost like an attraction itself, the kind where you intentionally spend a night at the hotel just to get the full experience. Have a look at the photos and let the photos do the talking (sorry they are kinda blurry as I took screenshots off the room video instead). Service is excellent, and staff is really nice and helpful too albeit limited English-speaking staff. They have a Mandarin-speaking staff onsite which is really helpful. My friend and I opted for breakfast as well which is pretty good, but note that you will have to inform the receptionist on your preferred time slot (nothing like the buffet style / seating) at the end of the day (they would likely approach you to ask abt it though so no worries even if you had forgotten abt it). Note that the private hot spring bath in the room is simply natural hot spring water and not onsen; silly me thought it was onsen 🥲 anyhow, the bathtub was really clean too so plus points to the housekeeping. All in all, a really lovely, enjoyable and most definitely unforgettable stay at Kumonoue Fuji! Would I choose to stay here again on my next trip to Mt Fuji? Absolutely, in a heartbeat!

Wwoshiqiqi420It's really a great treasure hotel. It's at the foot of Mt. Fuji. The weather was so good when we went. Mt. Fuji took off its milk cover. The clouds in the sky are so beautiful. This resort is just hidden here, and the front desk is very enthusiastic , and Chinese service staff, too kind. Breakfast will be ready and delivered to the room, and the delivery time will be carefully confirmed. Have breakfast in the courtyard. In the hot summer of July, it is so cool here. The resort has a large field, and you can directly overlook the whole view of Mount Fuji from the viewing platform at the back. Isn’t it more fragrant than a net red check-in? Really awesome. The price-performance ratio is too high. Each room takes care of the privacy of customers and has its own name, which gives it a special sense of belonging. Every room can take a bath, 24-hour circulating water, so comfortable, in short, I highly recommend this store.

CCaramel pear pieThe facility is new, clean and comfortable. Fully air conditioned and has a sauna. You can see Mt. Fuji from the pool. I was happy to have all-you-can-drink grape juice and wine. The bath can be reheated in the hot springs, making it easy to enjoy after swimming. It was helpful for families with children. The meal is BBQ. I added it separately, but since the menu is roughly the same in the morning and evening, I think it's okay to only have it once each. The pork was especially delicious. Conveniently located near supermarkets and convenience stores. There is no problem with procuring ingredients. Recommended for those who want to experience glamping but are afraid of insects or want to avoid the hassle. It's not for people who want to enjoy the inconvenience. Experience nature outside the facility. There are always one or two families, but there are a lot of couples, so it's quiet.

GGuest UserThis is a decently nice, large ryokan-style hotel but it feels a bit old and shabby like a pre-bubble hotel which is past its glory days. The location was a lot more isolated than we were expecting, you really should have a car if you stay here as there is little in the immediate area and it's a decently long walk to the rest of town. I strongly disagree with the ”good for walkers” walkability rating that Tripadvisor gives it. The car does offer a free shuttle four times a day to Kawaguchiko station though which is nice. The rooms (at least the ones we stayed in) were ryokan style with tatami and futons. Both me and my companion found the futons very difficult to sleep in. I didn't get a good night's sleep any of my nights and woke up sore even after requesting an extra futon for support. The public onsen on the fourth floor was very nice and in my opinion quite large. Lastly, the WiFi ranged from terrible to passable. It would vary a bit from hour to hour but was often nearly unusable. This is not a ”bad” hotel by any means, just know what you're getting into. This place probably was more impressive back in the day but today feels slightly run down and not very modern.

GGuest UserThe facilities are clean and the customer service is wonderful. The rooms are clean, and there is Wifi and USB port facilities for charging (Western room). The buffet-style meals are rich in variety such as local dishes and delicious. Very satisfied hotel depending on the choice of room. Strategy: Mt. Fuji, which you want from the large communal bath, is blocked by pillars, cherry trees, and it is a pity that you need to stand up from the open-air bath, and you can only see the indoor bath from a limited place while taking a bathtub. Therefore, you need to choose a room on the Mt. Fuji side to enjoy the view of Mt. Fuji from the hotel facilities. Hope: It would be even nice if there were Yoshida's udon noodles, seasonal local vegetables, fruits, and local products (milk, cheese, etc.). If you have already used it, the presentation will increase satisfaction as a traveler. I have tea and tea in the room, but I want coffee.

Very Good
GGuest UserThe hotel's building, without the outer charm (euphemism) is difficult to reach by public transport and it is impossible to reach in the evening. There is a shipping ship that comes to you on the day of your arrival and deposits you at the station on the morning of your departure or during your stay (3 hours a morning). The rooms are very good, large and with a wonderful view of the Fuji mountain. The staff is helpful but speaks very little English and communicates by google translation. This can lead to confusion as it is happening to us. The person who received us was particularly hateful, which was not the case with the rest of the staff very happy. The hotel is very comfortable and very comfortable.

Rrichardswart78We loved our stay here. The staff at frontdesk is so nice and so helpful: whatever you need during your stay, they will arrange (car rental, Japanese seats for room, good restaurant-advice). The room is supplied with very nice thick duvets, Japanese-style tatami and futons, and you will find a fridge and kettle too. The shower is really nice, with good pressure and nice ‘n warm. Room is warm and comfortable. Located opposite the station, this place is surely recommended!

GGuest UserHotel of resort type on Kawaguchiko, west high. Right next to the ropeway platform. Parking space is at least 20, so I recommend early check-in. It seems that 90% of the employees are foreigners. Perhaps the corona was pushed by a group of red flag countries. Of course, the front desk staff is only foreigners, and if you don't listen to it hard, you will a little frustration that the conversation is not approved. The room is all rooms, facing the lake and Mt. Fuji is not visible. Meals are free to eat and drink. (although alcohol other than beer is not recommended) there are many local things, and I think Cospa is good at this price. It was delicious. Overall, it is a passing point, but the dissatisfaction is the sauna of 60 ℃ and the parking lot of the high pressure attitude (Japanese) Ochan. I had a relaxing and delicious time.
