Hotel Purple Hong Kong

Wan Chai and Causeway Bay | 0.51km from Hong Kong Shue Yan University Library
The Hotel Purple Hong Kong provides a great place for travelers to relax after a busy day. Visitors to Hong Kong will find that the Hotel Purple Hong Kong is a fantastic accommodation choice. Boasting a convenient location, the hotel is just 8km from Hong Kong West Kowloon Station and 39km from Hong Kong International Airport. Just a short walk from Tin Hau Metro Station, traveling to most city destinations is a breeze. There is no shortage of things to see in the area, with the Harbour Cruise - Bauhinia, Hong Kong Central Library and East Coast Park Precinct all nearby. This hotel makes a great place to kick back and relax after a long day of sightseeing. This hotel is particularly popular with those traveling as a couple.

This is our first time staying, and the hotel gave us a free upgrade to a higher floor. The room is very clean, which exceeded our expectations and standards for most Hong Kong Hotels. As mentioned by other travellers as well, they do not provide amenities (such as toothbrush, toothpaste, razors, bedroom slippers, bottled water). We were prepared so we brought our own. Do note they charge 30 HKD for 1 set of amenities and 10 HKD for 2 bottles of water. Just get from the nearest 7eleven if you don't have. Apart from the room, the hotel is also relatively close to Tin Hau MTR Station, and there are many eateries nearby with some worth going for, like the chicken chop rice and beef brisket. Overall, I'll definitely stay here again for the price and cleanliness.

Simple hotel with excellent location, close to Tin Hau station and a few famous eateries on electricity street . Room was good enough for short stay but reception staff were efficient . Only gripe is lots of kids and adults screaming loudly in Chinese at lobby and outside my room corridor . Had to tell them off one morning at 0830 to be quiet .

We booked a 2bdrm apartment with kitchen however there was no stove, no microwave, no plates, bowls not cutlery. The common pantry (shared cooking facilities) is only available to monthly tenants! Our washing machine had no powder sachets and there was no dish washing detergent nor hand soap in bathrooms, we had to waste precious holidaying time with a trip to Wellcome and also but takeaway every single meal (and ask for single use forks and chopsticks) It was beyond annoying. Other than that loved the area right next to wet market. Luckily we only booked for 3 nights. Also, the rooms are not sound proof (as advertised).

They asking you to pay for the shower gel and shampoo kind of stuff. Asked 500hkd deposit, beware. Overall is okay can consider to stay again.

The view was exceptional. Even though the building itself was under construction (I suppose facade renewal) they gave us room with the best view ever. The hotel is situated at really convenient place, near the subway station and ferry station. The staff at the hotel was benevolent and helpful at most times. Here comes disadvantages. The room is tiny, a bit lazily maintained (the mirrors were dirty and at some unused at most cases places of bathroom it was untidy). But the main thing: in was humid as hell there. The conditioner, left working at lowest possible temperature hardly was making any difference. The bedsheets were almost wet with humidity and TV and mirrors had mist on it at all times. The breakfast was really simple with only a few options. No pancakes or other sweet breakfast were provided (except plain cornflakes). Every 2 rooms has a service door between them so I was crazily surprised when one night, I heard our neighbor trying to enter our room. Although after that the staff changed our room (but humidity never went away). To sum up. The view was worth the money. But if there will be next time we will have a conversation about humid and conditioner work.

My family and I had spent one night at Regent HK and we had a wonderful time there. The hotel was new and has a the perfect setting for a relaxing getaway. The harbour view was just stunning, and we enjoyed our time celebrating my son’s bday at this hotel. The front desk staff especially Ray Cheung, were fantastic. He was particularly friendly, helpful and made us feel welcome. We also went to the outdoor heated pool and had an amazing time. The staff and service were just great. We’ll definitely go again very soon.

The hotel needs some update, but location is pretty good. It has a pathway that you can go directly to the mall next door, with all high end shops. The service is also average. We paid US$100 for early check in (6 hours early), and as they do not have any scale in the bathroom (usually hotels supply a scale in the bathroom), we are asked to bring our luggage down to the lobby to weigh.

CChico999Very good all around value considering you are Hong Kong. ”Cozy” rooms with comfy beds. The food is very good in spite of the set menu, except for the western option which adds a hot dog and canned baked beans to your eggs instead of bacon and potatoes. One load of self service laundry costs $10.22. Close to a lot of shopping and restaurants. Recommend the dumpling place down the street.

FFelipe KondoService is great, check-in is smooth (either passport copy or 500HKD deposit), no lift available therefore be careful before booking if you have much luggage. Despite these small setbacks, service is super attentive and with great English, the room is super clean and offers a cozy and quiet retreat right in the middle of Wanchai. Much recommended for either long-stays or short-crash. Beware, like every HK room, it is small, but cleanliness and coziness are worth it. PS: The table is too small for working so use a café in case a laptop is required.

RRonaldThe perfect place to relax before entering HK downtown, or after leaving it. It shows signs of the time passed but it is totally OK. Chinese or Western breakfast available. Smack on the beach with an outdoor ground terrace. Super quiet in the evening. It can be reached by bus from Tung Chung bus station or by ferry from HK. Nice walks are to be had too, to hill tops or beaches. HK airport is on the other side of the island, and you can take the Ngong Ping cable car to the big Buddha from Tung Chung. If I get back to HK I will relax in this hotel first.

GGuest UserThe hotel is a bit out of the way from main tourist area- Nathan Road. It is about 15 minutes from the nearest tube station. The east and south of hotel is surrounded by some small metal retails commerce and car repair shops. I didn't like the metal and repair smells. The west of the hotel is one block away from a shopping plaza and also a lovely park. My taxi driver didn't know the hotel location until I gave him the address. The hotel entry is not easily spotted. The hotel reception is on the third floor. It looks bigger in the picture than in reality. I booked the 2 nights stay as I thought it is in a new reclaimed land area. I thought the hotel is located in a residential area. Considering the hotel is only 2 years new, I would expect the lifts are in best condition. I would appreciate the staff at the front of the desk with some smile. The lady in charge of the breakfast was lovely. The rooms are small, but designed to maximize the space. They are clean and the shower is great.
