"First time I've stayed here. I was aware of the mixed reviews & I've stayed at other hotels in Chermie but they were booked out on this occasion. It was raining heavily when I arrived so appreciated the undercover parking spaces immediately outside the reception. Check-in was seamless (thx Trip.com) & they didn't require a security deposit or CC scan so my customer trust box was ticked :-) The car park is secure & at ground level but spaces are limited; I was able to find a spot though at 4pm. There is public parking out on the street without restriction after 5pm. I had a Hotel Queen Room on the 2nd floor. Easy access via lift and the common areas were clean & well lit. The room and bathroom were clean with a pleasant aroma & no smell of mould (reported by others), air-con was on. I had a choice of two sliding doors to access the balcony so good for fresh air (but no insect screen). Overall, the room was comfortable whilst showing some signs of wear & tear. The shower had a choice of either hand-held or fixed head (rainforest type) & had plenty of pressure - great. I would recommend bringing your own toiletries, unless you're happy with generic multi-function liquid soap! The fridge was empty except for a small uht milk with no complimentary springwater or mini-bar that you might find in other hotels. There was TV, tea/coffee making supplies and a small microwave. If you like to sleep in complete darkness (like me), bring an eye-mask as the hallway lighting outside the room is bright & on all night, creating an aura around the front door that is hard not to notice. The area was relatively quiet with the hotel located on a side street. It's an easy & short walk to a major shopping centre and the bus station if you need to head into Briz City, which is a 20-30min ride away & only $0.50 fare - awesome. Breakfast (from 7am) was also included but I had to head-off early so wasn't able to grab a bite this time. In summary, I felt that the room rate was appropriate and score my overall experience as good."

"The hotel claimed to be close to the central station, but it's actually about a 10-minute walk, and you have to go up a steep hill, which isn't ideal if you have luggage. The room facilities are basic, with a kettle and a coffee machine. The bathroom is a bit small, and the shower water tends to leak out, so you need to be careful not to slip. The main elevator door downstairs seems to close around 8:00 PM, so guests returning later have to use the stairs, which is inconvenient if you're carrying bags. There's an underground parking lot, which is good for those traveling by car."

"My stay at The Star Grand in Brisbane was absolutely fantastic, far exceeding my expectations overall! The hotel boasts an elegant and grand ambiance with exquisite decor. Both the public areas and the rooms were incredibly clean and comfortable, making for a truly relaxing stay. The facilities were also top-notch; from the in-room amenities to the hotel's offerings, everything was high quality and well-thought-out. What truly stood out was the service. The staff were warm, friendly, professional, and efficient. From check-in to check-out, they made me feel completely at home. Whether it was the environment, facilities, or service, every aspect surpassed what I expected. I was extremely satisfied with this stay and will definitely choose this hotel again next time I'm in Brisbane. I'll also be recommending it to all my friends!"

"Nice, clean and spacious room with in-room entertainment, free WIFI, cooking utensils etc. Totally loved my stay at Quest Woolloongabba. Staff were friendly and helpful and the hotel has a nice little cute Mr Alpaca cafe beneath it that serves really good coffee and pancakes.  The hotel is also within walking distance to 1. Bus stop that brings you to the city centre 2. South Square where there are pharmacy, supermarkets and restaurants such as TikTok viral Sue’s Burgers and Shakes If you love to take long walks or strolls, from Quest Woolloongabba, you could also get to other cafes like Brown Dog Cafe or Paw Paw Cafe which serves really good coffee and food."

"Everything excellent apart from dishwashing facilities. Provided with a sponge pad and not a brush meant no handle, resulting in not able to give utensils a good wash, and putting hands into hot water. Otherwise NO problems. TV programmes available pretty poor options - or is this a Brisbane problem??"

"It’s an amazing hostel. The only thing is that the kitchen closes early 10pm and I finish work late so I can’t make myself food."
