Location & amenities:
The location is the biggest asset of this nice independent hotel. It's near Toowong shopping center and the shops and restaurants that surround it, which include chemists & a 24 hour 7-11 convenience store. The hotel itself is home to the Katsuco Japanese restaurant on its ground floor- famous for its good Japanese food.
There is free parking for guests, but the lots are limited (approximately 25 lots). There is free street parking along Sherwood road on the same side as the hotel.
Hotel design, ambience, service:
The hotel lobby is cozy and compact, with a small seating area in front of the reception desk. Depending on the day of the week & time of day, the staff range from invisible to proactively polite & are generally nice. There is a lift to take you to your rooms over the three floors that it spans.
Room design, comfort, acoustics: (deluxe King)
The rooms are decently sized- with adequate room for luggage and sufficient points for charging. There is an ironing board, kettle, room safe, free tea bags, the usual soaps & conditioners and moisturizers provided. The bathrooms are well designed with a nifty smart/switchable/ dynamic glass looking into the bedroom. The shower head is a rain shower type - definitely giving it cred. The mattress and pillows are very comfortable indeed- standout & remarkable. There are blackout curtains which work well. As for the acoustics- overall decently quiet given the location at the corner of a busy crossroad. Noise from the corridor does seep in depending on your neighbors. There is also the usual mild hum & grumble from the bar fridge & whine from the air conditioner. The occasional street car cacophony can be heard during the day, but generally it's quiet at night. So a good night's sleep is mostly achievable.
Overall: At the risk of making it more popular than it already is, this is a highly recommended property outside the city, with free parking. Will return if in the area!

Anonymous UserThe location is convenient if you are looking to stay away from the city center and avoid expensive public parking. A little noisy due to main traffic road but overall it's ok.
While the hotel offers onsite parking, it is pricey at AUD 40 per night, and the carpark spaces are very narrow and limited.
The room does not come with an amenity kit; however, a plus point is that it includes a refrigerator, a microwave, and some basic utensils, bowls, and plates. I appreciated the additional basin in the room.. while small, it was better than nothing.
The bathroom basin is poorly designed it is nearly impossible to wash your face there without hitting your head on the faucet! The shower is fine, but the floor gets wet easily because there is no shower curtain to block the water from reaching the toilet area. Additionally, no toiletries are provided other than basic shampoo, shower gel, and conditioner.
The hotel does not have an in-house laundry service, but there is a laundromat located at the open-air carpark directly opposite the hotel.
For dining, there is a McDonald's and KFC nearby, about a 5-minute walk away. Alternatively, you could drive over, as they provide their own parking.
The breakfast is extremely basic, consisting only of bread, a toaster, fruit, and a machine for milk, coffee, and tea. The staffs were very friendly and makes you feel like home

Well-maintained room and facilities, and not too far a walk from city centre. However, there aren’t much around for foods and drinks as I stayed during a public holiday.

Guest UserThe lobby smells lovely, and the hotel is very clean. However, the facilities are a bit dated. It's very close to Story Bridge, making its location a real asset. It's suitable for a 2-night stay, but not ideal for an extended visit. Also, the soundproofing in each room is quite poor; I could hear the foreigners next door having a meeting at 6:30 AM (they're certainly hardworking and ambitious, I'll give them that...).

MerseyRedFirst of all, I'd like to thank Trip.com for their proactive follow-up and feedback. This hotel really isn't suitable; the actual room condition is poor and too old, not matching the photos online. We waited almost twenty minutes to check in because the front desk staff kept chatting with a guest. That guest was also strange, as their card had insufficient funds and the hotel doesn't accept cash, so they just kept talking... After we checked in, we found that the living room and two of our rooms were right next to a building under construction, really close by. Then, on the other side, they were digging a foundation. We requested a room change. The new room was at least not next to a construction site, but the foundation digging started before 7 AM every morning. Let's talk about parking next. You won't figure it out without spending some time on it. No matter how much the front desk explains, you won't get it right the first time. The cost is also expensive at $45 a day. You first drive into the adjacent Apollo parking lot, go down to levels 5-8, and find their hotel's marked parking spots. Many of them are occupied, and you can't just park anywhere, or you'll get towed. Once you find a spot, you take one elevator, go down to P8, then get out and take another guest elevator to your floor. Every time you want to get your car, it involves two elevators and a maze-like search for your vehicle. Anyway, it's not easy. Finally, when we booked the room, we mentioned we had a child and needed a quiet room. They received the information, but still gave us such a noisy room, which I don't quite understand. After we checked in... we found there was no internet. The hotel staff said the service provider was doing maintenance and didn't know when it would be fixed. Luckily, it was working the next day.

KennyNZService: The front desk staff were very welcoming and tried their best to accommodate my needs.
Environment: Located in Brisbane city center, King George Square is just across the street, and the pedestrian street is a bit further. It's about a 400-meter walk to Brisbane Central Station, and two blocks to the Queen Street Bus Station (it's underground, so you need to take stairs).
Cleanliness: It was relatively clean, but the carpet was a bit dusty.
Facilities: The elevators are a bit old but mostly functional. All the room's appliances work, and the central air conditioning is powerful.

This accommodation was in a spectacularly convenient location for a GIG that I was attending this week.
The Team on-site were incredibly helpful. I had a small issue when I got there with the fridge not working and it had tripped the breaker; the maintenance guy came and sorted it out and then replaced the mini fridge thing for me as well. All within 30 minutes. Amazing. He also offered tips to assist with making the most out of the aircon and the double-glazing which was also super helpful so I could get a good nights sleep afterward. The place was nice & clean and tidy with an exceptionally large sized bed.
It was surprisingly quiet being right beside an active pub as well. Unless I was in the hallway, I couldn't hear a thing. I could hear my neighbours though...!
Beautiful artwork through the building, and the hallways didn't smell awful either. They had cool little work nooks in the stairwells you could use if you wish and I think I saw some business suites on the 1st floor you could use for meetings.
Not so amazing parts: There was clearly mould in some areas in bathroom areas.. they oddly have glass doors on the toilets?? that's strange. No ventilation in the bathroom to prevent the mould too.
The air-conditioning was genuinely effective but it was clearly not well maintained as there was dust & mould forming around the vent and the roof section where the duct was, had starting bowing.
Booking process via Trip.com - not great. The information provided by the website indicated they'd hold the amount of the booking but we had to pay the amount AT the hotel plus a deposit fee for incidentals...(on top of the amount they already took). That was actually not the case... I didn't have to give them anything at all except ID and verify my general details. When I got there, the nice man at reception told me I was all good to go and no extra fees or holds were required.
All in all, a good stay. The place could use some extra love and attention to detail but for the price I paid? I'm not bothered.

Stevie BBFirst time I've stayed here. I was aware of the mixed reviews & I've stayed at other hotels in Chermie but they were booked out on this occasion. It was raining heavily when I arrived so appreciated the undercover parking spaces immediately outside the reception. Check-in was seamless (thx Trip.com) & they didn't require a security deposit or CC scan so my customer trust box was ticked :-) The car park is secure & at ground level but spaces are limited; I was able to find a spot though at 4pm. There is public parking out on the street without restriction after 5pm. I had a Hotel Queen Room on the 2nd floor. Easy access via lift and the common areas were clean & well lit. The room and bathroom were clean with a pleasant aroma & no smell of mould (reported by others), air-con was on. I had a choice of two sliding doors to access the balcony so good for fresh air (but no insect screen). Overall, the room was comfortable whilst showing some signs of wear & tear. The shower had a choice of either hand-held or fixed head (rainforest type) & had plenty of pressure - great. I would recommend bringing your own toiletries, unless you're happy with generic multi-function liquid soap! The fridge was empty except for a small uht milk with no complimentary springwater or mini-bar that you might find in other hotels. There was TV, tea/coffee making supplies and a small microwave. If you like to sleep in complete darkness (like me), bring an eye-mask as the hallway lighting outside the room is bright & on all night, creating an aura around the front door that is hard not to notice. The area was relatively quiet with the hotel located on a side street. It's an easy & short walk to a major shopping centre and the bus station if you need to head into Briz City, which is a 20-30min ride away & only $0.50 fare - awesome. Breakfast (from 7am) was also included but I had to head-off early so wasn't able to grab a bite this time. In summary, I felt that the room rate was appropriate and score my overall experience as good.

Guest UserI booked on the day we arrived as I needed accommodation close to Northshore Eat Street. Saw reviews about access issues so I called before booking and was advised access info is sent at 2pm. We had no problems with online booking and receiving access code.
Room was good value for money with balcony, plenty of free parking and wifi.
Would definitely book again if I need accommodation close to airport.
