"This was my third stay, and it was just as great as the previous times. I enjoyed watching the cruise ships and the sea, and loved the open-air onsen on the top floor. By coincidence, there was an earthquake during my stay, and it was quite shaky, but the hotel's emergency response was excellent, which helped everyone feel less nervous and worried!"

"An absolutely fantastic hotel! The location, service, and especially the breakfast are top-notch. From our 12th-floor window, we could see the Hakodate Morning Market, JR station, and even the cruise ship. The sparkling lights of the harbor at night are infinitely better than the overrated mountain view. The lovely front desk lady with excellent American English made communication a breeze. She even specially picked a room with a 'special view' for us. Guests in deluxe rooms can use their room key to access the simple executive lounge on the top floor, which offers some snacks, drinks, and alcohol. Hakodate has a charming, sophisticated vibe, much like Shanghai, and I'd definitely visit again. I'll be staying at this hotel next time too!"

"Hotel is really next to Hakodate station only a few walk. I stayed 2 nights and they clean room every 3 nights so I just got only towel exchange. Amenities can be picked up freely at 1st floor. The breakfast is good and the onsen is good too. Room is 16sqm and not narrow, wide enough for 1 pax with 30 inch lagguage."

"This hotel is perfect for introverts, offering fully self-service check-in, check-out, and luggage storage. You can grab toothbrushes and combs from the front desk yourself. Perhaps due to language barriers, I found the staff to be a bit indifferent. The duvet looked a little worn and had some old stains, but the bedside tables had a charming, historic feel. The bathroom was narrow but very clean. In the triple room, we could barely open one suitcase. We chose a room away from the elevator, so our window offered a view of JR Hakodate Station, which really highlights how incredibly close the hotel is – just a few minutes' walk. There's also a Maxvalu supermarket about a 10-minute walk away, which is quite large and good for browsing. Plus, there's a delicious soup curry restaurant, King Bear, nearby."

"Kudos to this hotel. My stay there was amazing. The hotel is close to streetcar station, but during winter it still pretty challenging to pull your luggage. That is expected situation for any hotel in Hokkaido 😆. The receptionist was really helpful. She help to call taxi for me when I don’t know how to do so."

"The location is excellent, very close to both the airport and the beach. Directly opposite is the Tropical Botanical Garden, and from the room, you can even spot monkeys in the garden. The hot spring views are absolutely fantastic, and soaking in them on a snowy day was an incredible experience!!!!!!"

DD25860****A rare find at this ocean-view hot spring hotel! Soaking in the hot spring while gazing at the sea, daydreaming, or chatting is simply wonderful! From the moment we arrived, we had a dedicated butler who escorted us to the large lounge for check-in. While their English wasn't fluent, they could communicate in Japanese and Chinese using a translation app, and were very responsible in repeatedly confirming our reservation times. The private hot spring bath we booked was excellent in both its environment and facilities, and both the indoor and outdoor public baths offered ocean views. Cleanliness was impeccable, and the ocean-view room was enormous; we even had albatrosses visiting outside the window. The kaiseki cuisine at breakfast and dinner was absolutely amazing—delicious and beautifully presented—I was extremely satisfied!

CCZWONGHad another excellent stay at JR Inn Hakodate. The hotel continues to impress with its unbeatable location right next to Hakodate Station, making travel around the city and beyond extremely convenient.
The room was spotless, quiet, and very comfortable, with a modern design and a bed that ensures a great night’s sleep. Everything was well-maintained and thoughtfully arranged for a hassle-free stay.
The public bath is still a standout feature—clean, relaxing, and perfect after a long day of sightseeing or work. Staff were friendly, professional, and efficient as always.
Overall, a consistently reliable and comfortable hotel in Hakodate. Highly recommended for both short and repeat stays!

GGuest UserI stayed in a D-Fourth Non smoking room on the 8th floor. The room has a nice view of Mount Hakodate from the balcony and a view of the port from the bedroom window. Room was clean and there is daily cleaning if you ask for it. Cooking utensils are available though no condiments provided. The bath system is electronic and took a while to figure out how to use it. Room was spacious and adequate for 4 of us. What we loved is that while the dryer did not really dry our clothes (separate washer and dryer), the heater in the room was strong enough to dry them and we could borrow a rack from the hotel to hang them out to dry. Only improvement we would like to suggest - we arrived when it was snowing heavily, and as we moved our luggage into the room the floor became wet and dirtied, we had to clean with tissue as there is no floor cleaner available.would be nice to provide self cleaning tools especially since there is a kitchen and things might spill. And also the balcony did not have any ‘balcony’ shoes so it was just too cold to step outside to enjoy the scenary. Nonetheless, we enjoyed our stay in the hotel. Would choose it again if we go Hakodate.

淑淑菁A small but charming accommodation. The staff at the front desk were very friendly. The room was just right for two people, with a standard double bed. It's a 5-minute walk to Wulinggang Pagoda. Clown Burger is next to Wulinggang Pagoda and is open until 9 pm. Parking is available right next to the hotel. It costs 660 yen per day. There's a large restaurant called Da Kuro-ya just around the corner. There are many places to eat nearby in the evening.

HHunhundidiI stayed in a standard room. It was quite spacious, and the bathroom had a separate wet and dry area. Although this room type didn't have a bathtub, the hotel's onsen (hot spring) was more than enough to enjoy. It was easily accessible and never too crowded, so I could really relax. The hotel is very close to Hakodate Station, about a five-minute walk, and there's a convenience store within five minutes, which is handy. They also offer a free shuttle bus to various Hakodate attractions, which was incredibly convenient.
Service: I arrived very late, but the front desk staff were still incredibly warm and welcoming, providing lots of helpful tips and information.
Cleanliness: The room was clean and tidy, and housekeeping came to clean it every day.

The location is excellent, only about a 3-minute walk from the tram station, which makes getting around very easy. There are also many restaurants nearby, so finding food is never a problem.
The room was clean and well maintained, and the onsen was very nice and relaxing after a long day.
Overall, a great stay and I would definitely recommend this hotel.

It was snowing heavily, and the bellhop was still waiting outside for guests to arrive, helping with luggage. The outdoor private onsen in the room was also exceptional; the view and atmosphere were incredible. The breakfast, with its unbeatable ocean view, topped it all off. I had a wonderful day in Hakodate!

AAilvxingdeabuI absolutely loved this Lavista hotel! The breakfast was fantastic, with a great spread including salmon, sweet shrimp, ice cream, and pudding. There's a direct bus to Hakodate Airport right nearby, costing 700 yen, and it's conveniently located next to Meijikan. There are also plenty of restaurants in the vicinity. The Kanemori Red Brick Warehouses are just a 2-minute walk away, which is super handy for buying snacks and souvenirs. The onsen (public bath) was excellent, with good quality body lotion and hair conditioner provided. There were several outdoor baths, which were very relaxing. Plus, after a soak, you get free ice cream! It's about a 15-minute walk to both the Hakodateyama Ropeway and Hakodate JR Station. The views of Mount Hakodate are also beautiful. Highly recommend!

YYx18We were so satisfied with the hotel! It’s 5-6 minutes walk from the train station and morning market is just right beside. Though it’s a bit further to the beach but it’s still within comfortable walkable distance! Our first room was on second floor, with strong smell of the onsen. Then we reached out to the reception and they changed our room to a higher floor very quickly and nicely! The onsen area is huge and very clean. The view from our room was spectacular.
