"The Hsinglu Hotel is located right in the city center, at the intersection of Zhongzheng Road and Zhonghua Road. On the ground floor, guests can help themselves to complimentary cookies, coffee, and tea bags. The industrial-style decor in the common areas creates a really comfortable atmosphere, and many guests gather there in the evenings to eat and chat. The rooms are pretty standard. My only complaint is the poor soundproofing; plus, both the air conditioner and the bathroom exhaust fan are quite loud, so I'd recommend bringing earplugs. They don't provide disposable toiletries like toothbrushes, toothpaste, or razors, but if you forget anything, you can buy them at the front desk. Overall, given the amenities, service, and excellent location, it's still worth recommending. If you're driving, they don't offer parking, but it's not hard to find a spot on Zhonghua Road, though you'll incur extra parking fees. (It's free between 10 PM and 10 AM, so it's not too bad.)"

"It was my first time visiting this hotel. The environment was really nice, but it was raining when I arrived, so there were a lot of mosquitoes. The hotel staff was very nice and kept reminding us to spray mosquito repellent. There were still some mosquitoes in the room, but the room was very clean. "The hotel is about 1.5km from Hualien Station, and a bit tricky to find as it's tucked away in an alley off the main Zhongshan Road. However, a taxi from Hualien Station got me there quickly once I told the driver the hotel name. While the hotel staff don't speak Japanese, they are proficient in English. They are also cheerful and helpful, and use translation apps on their phones to communicate, so any issues can be easily resolved. There's a coin laundry right next to the hotel, which is convenient for washing clothes. The hotel is in a city area with plenty of restaurants, convenience stores, and supermarkets nearby. The room I stayed in had a combined toilet and shower, with only a shower curtain separating them. You need to be careful, as the curtain can easily open and soak the toilet area. (Be warned!) If your plan includes breakfast, you'll receive breakfast tokens (coins) for each person upon check-in. Breakfast is a buffet with a good variety of tasty options. The dining room tables and chairs are made from large, single slabs of wood, which is quite unique for Japan. You're expected to clear your own dishes after eating and place the breakfast tokens in a box by the dining room exit. Next to the hotel lobby, they sell cute deer-themed merchandise like keychains, wallets, and hand towels."

"I found the service to be genuinely excellent. They even have a detective game on the first floor! Both the front desk staff at check-in and Yu, who helped me at check-out the next morning, provided fantastic service. The only downside was the environmental noise coming from the AC vent in the room. I tried changing to another room, but it had the same very loud mechanical hum. In the end, I just had to make do with the original room, which, of course, meant a bad night's sleep 🥲. I wouldn't recommend staying here if you're sensitive to noise."

"Loved this place. Excellent value, well run. Rooms are spacious, comfortable and spotlessly clearn. I saw the cleaning staff working all morning every day. The desk people are helpful. You have to pay extra for shower towels but I actually think it's a great idea !! We need to preserve the environment. Only use what you need. It's good for the customer too -- because the hotel can give better rates. Every hotel should do this."

"Stayed for two consecutive days. The next day I went back to the hotel room. The bed was messy. The floor was dirty. The bathtub was dirty. There was no explanation. I told me that I would not clean the stay. I called to remind me to clean the only two. I only cleaned the garbage and supplements because I lived in such a homestay for the first time. They will be clean. They will call back to explain the reason for their dissatisfaction. They are also impatient and finally hang up the phone. Two nights are the same price. One night is more than 2,700. There is no facilities. No wonder everyone will say that they would rather go abroad to play expensive, even if the service attitude is not good.."
