"The room was very clean, the bed was very comfortable ~ The bathroom was very clean, the proprietress was very warm, the breakfast was very rich and very full, the shell was baked by the proprietress herself, the Autumn sunflower was grown by herself, but the chicken raised by herself, the corn omelet The cake skin is made by yourself. Multi-talented ~ Very happy day ❤️"
"There is a bathtub for bathing, buffet breakfast, free parking space, quiet environment, located in Shoufeng Township, very close to Yuanxiong Ocean Park. The homestay also has peacocks and small ponds. It is a good choice to stay here or stay during a trip."
"Hualien Xianshan is a small and beautiful budget homestay, the center of a small town. There is a large supermarket opposite the homestay, which is a good choice to buy fruits and replenish groceries. There are also convenience supermarkets nearby that are open 24 hours a day, but if you want to have dinner at a restaurant that is ten minutes’ walk away, you need to consider that the pretending time is earlier than in the city, around 8 to 8:30. The space for activities in the economy double room is relatively small, so if you just stay for one night and take a break, you can consider it."
"The outdoor environment is green and the room space is spacious, no matter whether people or hairy children can relax deeply. Breakfast is also amazing. Very recommended, will choose to stay next time."
"This is truly the best eco-luxury hotel in Taiwan. Everything, from the accommodation quality and the environment to the service, is impeccable. There are so many activities available, both free and paid, making it an excellent choice for a family vacation.
It was such a pleasant surprise to see peacocks freely roaming and even flying within the Feng Zhi Gu ecological park. The new mall and walking path located between the Starbucks and 7-Eleven nearby are also definitely worth exploring.
The only slight downside is that they don't offer bicycle rentals that can be ridden outside the park. If you have specific guest activities you'd like to participate in, it's best to check the activity schedule and confirm by phone before making your booking and travel arrangements."
"The owner of the homestay is very kind and can feel the intentions everywhere, especially the homemade breakfast, which is really healthy and delicious. Bring children, don't worry about eating unhealthy food.
If you want a hotel-style service that is different from the hotel and is looking for a warm welcome to your stay, perhaps this is the best choice you can try."
"Yinhua B&B is not only a homestay, but also a place where people feel warmth and happiness. Whether it is the friendly smile of the boss and the proprietress, or the loving breakfast prepared by Banniang himself, every detail makes people feel the temperature of home. If you are looking for a place to relax and regain your balance of life, Yinhua Homestay is definitely your first choice. Come on, make Yinhua Homestay a good place for your spiritual vacation.
Large pile 👍"
"The signboard is a bit small, drive carefully missed, the scenery is excellent, the price is reasonable, although you can feel that the house is a bit old but very clean, it feels cleaner than staying in the hotel, if you need it, you will definitely come back"

Outstanding
AAnonymous UserThe Hualien Station branch of Kindness Hotel offers excellent value for money. The room rate is incredibly inclusive; not only does it cover breakfast, but also afternoon tea and a late-night snack, so you practically don't have to worry about food from check-in until evening. The hotel also provides free ice cream, washing machines, and dryers, along with laundry detergent, which is super convenient for travelers needing to wash clothes.
The location is also great, very close to Hualien Station—just about a seven or eight-minute walk. This makes it really easy for catching trains or planning your Hualien itinerary. Even though it's a 3-star hotel, the actual experience exceeded my expectations. The breakfast was also more varied than I anticipated. Overall, the stay felt thoughtful in terms of service and practical in terms of facilities. It's truly ideal for travelers looking for convenience and great value.
JJoe Nathanael ChowA Scenic Stay with a Convenient Catch
My stay at Hotelday Hualien was a bit of a mixed bag. It has some genuinely charming touches and a great view, but its location and certain amenities require some adjustment.
Location & Transportation: The hotel is about a 5-minute walk from the Hualien Train Station, which is fantastic if you're arriving by rail. However, I soon realized that the train station is not the city center. The main downtown area is a significant distance away—about a 40-minute walk. This means you'll either need to plan for long walks or rely on taxis and buses to get to the main dining and night market areas. It's not a deal-breaker, but it's something to be aware of.
The Room: The room itself was a highlight. It was spacious and comfortable, providing a relaxing retreat after a day of exploring. The best feature was the large window that faced the train station, with a stunning backdrop of the mountains. It was incredibly scenic and made the room feel bright and open. While the room was comfortable, I did notice that the overall design and some of the furniture felt a bit dated. It's clean and functional, but don't expect a super modern aesthetic.
Amenities & Service: This is where the experience was a bit uneven. The gym was quite disappointing. It only had a stationary bicycle and a treadmill. There were no weights, no multi-gym, nothing for anyone hoping for even a basic strength workout. It felt more like an afterthought than a proper facility.
On the other hand, the service had some truly thoughtful highlights. When we asked for ice, the hotel staff kindly delivered some to our room, which was a nice touch.
The Special Touch: The most memorable part of the stay was a small, heartwarming gesture. The hotel provided us with complimentary postcards. The unique part? They offered to mail them for us, but not right away. They will send them exactly one year later. It's a lovely idea—a little time capsule from your trip that arrives as a surprise in the future.
Overall: Hotelday Hualien offers spacious, comfortable rooms with beautiful mountain views, and its proximity to the train station is a plus for travelers. The thoughtful service, like the ice delivery and the ”postcard to your future self” program, adds a warm, personal touch. However, the distance from the city center and the very basic gym are drawbacks. It's a solid choice for a comfortable night's sleep near the station, especially if you appreciate sentimental gestures, but be prepared for the travel time to the main attractions.
GGuest UserBest best best hotel we have ever stayed in. Services provided was excellent. All staff were very genuinely. It really felt like a 5 star hotel. We stayed in another 5 star hotel in Jiaoxi which is No. 1 in Jiaoxi but the service cannot be matched. Well done to all the staff.
Room was always clean. Thank you to the staff who cleaned our spectacle. It was a nice gesture. Different snacks were topped up everyday. The face mask provided was so good!
Surrounding of the hotel was very nice. We had the gorge view and OMG! We don't mind waking up to this view everyday. We hope they will contruct a stairs for guest to go down to the gorge. It is a waste to just see it from the top.
Breakfast was good. We could see that they have made an effort to label which is vegetarian and which is not. It's very thoughtful of the restaurant. However, we had a seafood porridge and thought it was purely seafood but notice there was chicken in it but not written. Maybe they can improve in this.
Kids are very well entertained in this hotel. They have a huge play room for them. Indoor pool with heated pool is enough to keep the kids occupied for 2hours at least. They also have daily activities and some are free.
Thank you Silk Place for the wonderful stay. We will be back.
GGuest UserWell strategic location Hotel. The room is bright. But the room housekeeping is very poor. Eventhough i requested to clean the room, the auntie did not clean it. She just tidy up the bed very fast and change new towel. Never vacuum/mop the floor, dust and hair on the floor very obviously. So don’t expect she vacuum the bed if u request to change the bed sheet. Got flea/ bed bugs. I thought my eczema flare up. But once both my parents also experienced the same. And I noticed the bed sheet got a few spots a little dot. Then yeah it’s bed bugs. I hope the housekeeping auntie can make it better.
NnotrevePositives:
- like all lakeshore hotels in Taiwan, fantastic breakfast spread, especially incorporating local hualien food like gongzheng baos etc…
- sauna with a sea view.. what else to ask for
- children playroom
- comfy rooms and excellent service all round by all staff
- bath tub near the window where you can soak and see the sea
- coin operated laundry room with washers and dryers (affordable plus only two each.. so may have to wait)
- small snacks and beverages provided for guests daily on the ground floor
Negatives:
- only really gripes is the location.. about 2 km away from the city centre so not much to do in the neighbourhood
- sea view room is actually the view of the port and a distance away… technically hotel is not wrong.. but should lower your own expectations
GGuest UserOur trip to Hualien was full of pleasant surprises! We originally booked a city view room, but when we checked in, the front desk upgraded us to a sea view room. We were so happy! The room was very clean, and we'll definitely stay here again next time. Awesome! 👍
GGuest UserThe staff at the counter were very friendly. Knowing we were from out of town helping out, they upgraded us on the spot since there was a room available and introduced us to the hotel's facilities. It's close to Dongdaemun Night Market, within walking distance, and on nearby Zhongzheng Road, there are convenience stores, breakfast shops, daily necessities stores, drugstores, and bubble tea shops – very convenient. Getting a taxi is also easy. Highly recommended for a relaxing stay.
MMarukowangThe room wasn't as comfortable as it looked in the pictures. The caulk in the bathroom was moldy everywhere. Even through the bedsheet, you could see old stains (bloodstains) on the mattress. It made me feel a bit uneasy staying there. The mini-fridge in the room was just for show (it was broken and didn't cool). Although there's a free snack and drink bar downstairs, there's definitely a lot of room for improvement in terms of cleanliness and hygiene.
GGuest UserThe exterior may not be very stunning and the hotel may feel a bit old, but after entering, you will slowly discover its inner charm.
The Daoxiang double room we stayed in was very elegant and large, especially the oversized bed which was super comfortable to sleep on. I am an elderly person who is undergoing neck rehabilitation and I am very picky about beds and pillows, but I slept very soundly and deeply here. A big thumbs up to the hotel owner for choosing the hard bed facilities. The room is super clean. Although the hardware equipment is not new, it has a simple and elegant charm, which I like. It's a bit like Kung Fu tea that needs to be savored slowly.
We are an elderly couple who came to Hualien to visit friends. Before checking in, we requested a quiet room with no smoke. We could not stay in the side room due to our physical condition. Although the room had some minor flaws in sound insulation, the hotel met our needs. The peaceful and pleasant environment in the rice fields will give you a good night's sleep.
The backyard also gets high marks, and is perfect for a relaxing stroll.
The breakfast was rich and delicious.
This is very suitable for us who don't need dazzling amusement facilities and come here to enjoy a comfortable and relaxing accommodation environment.
The only drawback is that they don't provide dinner, but we solved that by using the hotel's instant noodles and ordering takeout via mobile phone.
The price is very reasonable and it is a highly recommended accommodation.

FFoluolidamoziCheck-in convenience: Self check-in was quite convenient; communication via WeChat/Line was possible. The night market is a 10-minute walk away.
Safety: Good location, very safe.
Facilities: As pictured, a 'prison-style' experience, which I definitely felt.
Hygiene: Hygiene was acceptable.
Environment: The environment was unique, worth experiencing.
