Hotels near Beaux Arts Gallery in Bath

Hotel is in great location. Staff were friendly and helpful. Room was as described and is clean and comfortable. Negatives are that the hotel carpark is actually a public carpark and not part of the hotel but was not a big issue for me. And there was a lot of walking to get to the assigned room from the lift & stairs. Otherwise, it was a pleasant stay and I would come again.

The hotel's location is absolutely fantastic, right in the heart of Bath city center and very close to the famous Roman Baths. There was some renovation work happening on the exterior during our stay, but it didn't affect us at all. The hotel design is excellent, with modern facilities, and the staff were incredibly polite, even proactively offering recommendations for popular attractions and itineraries, which was a huge plus! The only downside was that the room was a bit small, and a slightly larger suitcase made it feel a bit inconvenient.

Perfect spot for exploring Bath, very central and easy to walk to the station, shops and attractions. The apartment was spotlessly clean with everything we needed, and felt secure in the lovely courtyard. We extended our stay as we felt so at home there. There looked to be a secure left luggage store which we may have used if we’d seen it earlier. Would be useful to have info about this in the apartment info pack. There is some noise from the street for apartment 7, partly from early deliveries to Thermae Spa which is directly opposite, and also from people wandering through the echoey passageways at night. We got used to it by the end of our stay, but light sleepers might prefer one of the inward facing apartments.

Absolutely excellent! My English isn't great, but the check-in process was incredibly smooth and welcoming. The front desk staff patiently explained the hotel, how to use the bar, how to enter, the breakfast, the room facilities, and so on. They were so helpful! The hotel was extremely clean. I booked a twin room, which was well-laid out and spacious. The beds were very comfortable, and the bathroom was spotless. It's about a 12-minute walk from the city center and attractions—not too far, not too close—and public transportation is very convenient. The breakfast is a standard English breakfast, but you can also choose other options. The surrounding environment is beautiful; it's only about a 5-minute walk to the park, which is a must-see!

We had an amazing stay at The Bailbrook House Hotel. The staff were exceptionally helpful. We ate in the restaurant on both evenings and all the food was excellent. We had a small issue at breakfast as were quite late coming in for it and some of the fruit had gone, however having said that the poached egg and avocado on sourdough I had was to die for, and was delicious, and the full english was very good too. All in all it was all very enjoyable stay and would definitely return, and recommend the hotel to friends and family.

The hostel itself is decent and clean, but there are two major downsides worth mentioning. First, the socket placement is genuinely terrible. There are barely any conveniently located plugs near the top beds, which makes charging your phone or using devices really inconvenient, especially in shared dorms. Second, the location is not really good. The hostel is quite far uphill from the city centre, and walking back to the top is exhausting after a long day around Bath. It’s manageable, but definitely something to consider if you have luggage or don’t want a steep climb every time you return. Overall, okay for a budget stay, but the poor socket layout and inconvenient hilltop location would make me think twice before booking again.

The advertising pictures look stunning, but the actual room is quite different. The facilities are outdated, and my husband disliked the overhead shower—it felt like being forced to wash his hair even when he didn’t want to. The drainage in the shower was extremely slow, leaving water pooling around our feet. Ventilation in the bathroom was poor, making it uncomfortable. Additionally, the night shift staff were quite rude. That being said, Bath is a beautiful city, and we will definitely return—just not to this hotel.

The building is old, and there's a lot of noise from the wood and stairs. You can also hear the TV next door and conversations from the street, so there's no soundproofing. I had trouble with this on the first night, but the night staff member (Samuel) was very attentive and changed my room. Overall, it's good value for money.

This is a charming historic mansion with great character; while the facilities are a bit dated, the exterior and outdoor scenery are super nice. Free parking makes it perfect for those driving, it is only a short drive from the Bath city center. The traditional-style hotel bar was quiet and moody, it stays open until 11pm, allowing us to enjoy a drink even after arriving late from dinner. The room size was decent and the heating worked well; the bathroom featured a bathtub though it took some time for the hot water to start flowing properly. Unfortunately, a false fire alarm went off in the middle of the night, which disrupted our sleep, but since we were only staying for one night and checking out early, I didn't raise the issue. It was a classic ”old hotel” experience as expected, and the exceptionally warm and friendly attitude of the front desk staff made up for the hiccups, though my expectations might be higher if I were staying for a longer period.

Stayed at Wentworth House for one night. The location was handy — only about a 6 or 7-minute taxi ride into the centre of Bath. Parking on site was free, which is always a bonus, though spaces were limited. The shower worked fine with good hot water, and at £120 a night for three people, the price wasn’t unreasonable for Bath. On the downside, the place is very dated and could do with some serious modernisation. Our room had a noticeable damp smell and the single-glazed windows didn’t help keep the room warm or quiet. I can’t comment on the food as we didn’t eat there, but overall, it’s an okay option if you just need somewhere for a night and aren’t too fussy — though a refresh would really lift the place.
