"Overall, it's a good hotel. The room has a bed, wardrobe, internet, a desk and chair, and a spacious bathroom. You can request a hairdryer, iron, and toiletries from reception. There's also a shared kitchen available for cooking and food storage. Other pros include entertainment rooms and a laundry facility. On the downside, it's not very close to the city center, the access to rooms is multi-level, the bed is small for two people, and you have to get all the extra amenities from reception."

"Basic accommodation but good value for the price! Easy to access location, clean, complimentary supplies, good amenities, access to shared kitchen etc. It was quiet at night, the odd bit of noise from doors in the daytime. However you can get free earplugs from reception. The windows don’t open fully so it can get warm in the room, however fans are provided in each room"

"Stayed 2 nights at The Scholar and appreciated its location for access to the city (The Royal Mile) and to walk up Arthur’s Seat (note we are walkers).  Room was spacious and although it did not have a fridge the front desk sorted this out for us (at no extra charge).  The hotel has a lovely area outside to sit and have breakfast, coffee or evening drinks. We were given complementary access to a gym closer to the city but there is also a basic one on the grounds.  There is also parking on-site.  Staff were really friendly and helpful - thank you for an enjoyable stay! "

"I stayed for one night and I had everything I needed. Maybe a kettle in the room would be a nice touch (there was one in the kitchen though). The room was clean, the staff were very nice and professional. It was a little loud in the morning outside the door as some people were leaving and making a lot of noise but that was not a big issue for me."

"Visiting Edinburgh was already magical, but my stay at the Best Western Kings Manor Hotel made the trip even more memorable. The hotel has such a calm and welcoming atmosphere, and after a full day of exploring the city, it was the perfect place to come back to and unwind. The reception staff were especially helpful and friendly, which made the stay even more pleasant. I would definitely love to come back again. ✨"

"The location is great. There are bus stops right in front of it for both sides. It is very easy to go to Rosslyne Chapel or the city center. There is always hot water. The wifi works well. The rooms are fine. The only downside is there is no breakfast. That's fine too, there are many alternatives outside. There are no hotel slippers, but that's nowhere else in the UK. So bring your slippers in your suitcase when you come to the UK. I would definitely stay here again if I came back because of its location and very good price/performance value 👍👍👍"

"The place is quiet and interior is great. Room is very big and there is a tub for bath. Coffee corner is good and free of charge. Reception was nice and introduce the hotel and room to us. Easy to go to Edinburgh city center as the bus stop is just outside the hotel with around 3 mins walk. Would recommend this hotel to others!"

"It's a good hostel, right in the center, a couple of minutes' walk from all the sights. I liked everything, but there was one downside: I was cold in the evening. At first, I thought someone had opened the window, but no, it was just a draft from the frames, and there was no heating anymore. The next day it was warmer outside, and in the hostel, too."

"Because the facilities are old, even if they are cleaned, they don't look clean. The bathroom equipment is old, the toilet seat is movable, the shower head always lowers by itself, the shower and bathtub are integrated, and the bathtub is high, which is a bit dangerous to get out of the shower... There is no refrigerator or air conditioning, so it is not very suitable to stay in hot weather... The location is more than 40 minutes walk from the city center, suitable for self-driving tourists"
