Hotels near Clock Tower Chiang Rai in Chiang Rai

Hotel was pretty and extremely clean. Staff were lovely. Breakfast was fantastic with a pretty view. Lady at breakfast even recalled where we like to sit.  Nice outlook from room but would have liked to have been higher as it would have afforded a better view of the river. Alternative offered was higher up but oddly shaped and near the lift so we declined. Room was lovely and spacious. Room was very clean. Cleaners do an exceptional job. Things to be aware of: it’s very geared to families so lots of children due to the amazing splash park. Lots of people from Asia and continental Europe.  The biggest let down for us was the television. Yes it was a flat screen but must have been one of the earliest. Not a smart tv so no chrome cast even. Essentially there were only two English language channels and they were both the news. Great if you wish to feel depressed. We ended up watching Thai boxing. I love watching tv in bed late in the evening so this was disappointing and surprising for a five star hotel.  For the ladies, the in room goodies were basic, nothing luxurious.  However, it is still a really nice hotel with a lovely pool next to the river. It is very clean and pretty. If you don’t care about the lack of tv channels or lots of kids then don’t hesitate to book.

My friend and I ended a 4-day road trip from Bangkok to Chiang Rai at Le Méridien and honestly, we saved the best for last. After nights in Korat and Sukhothai, pulling into this property on the banks of the Kok River felt like a proper reward. We had a private balcony overlooking the garden. I spent a good chunk of the morning just lying on the daybed out there, feet up, watching the trees sway. Now the breakfast,which we almost didn’t have. We hadn’t booked breakfast but the front desk offered us a deal at check-in. We said yes without thinking too hard about it. Best spontaneous decision of the entire road trip. The restaurant, Latest Recipe, serves what I’d comfortably call the best hotel breakfast I’ve had in Southeast Asia. The centrepiece is their signature Khao Soi Gai, a rich, deeply fragrant broth made with freshly pressed coconut milk and Chiang Rai spices, topped with crispy noodles and served with pickled mustard greens, shallots and lime. I’ve had Khao Soi all the way up the north in Chiang Mai, on the road and this held its own against all of them. Alongside that came a stunning northern Thai sharing platter served on a banana leaf-lined bamboo tray, sticky rice wrapped in banana leaf, bitter melon, blanched vegetables, boiled eggs, crispy pork crackling and two house-made dips including a seriously good green chilli relish. All of this with mountain and river views through floor-to-ceiling windows and a proper cup of coffee in hand. The rest of the buffet — egg station, fresh fruit, smoothies, Western and Asian options was extensive and well executed. Staff throughout were warm and attentive without being intrusive. The property is immaculate. Free parking was easy right in the main courtyard, a genuine bonus when you’re on a road trip. If you’re driving through northern Thailand and ending in Chiang Rai, this is where you want to finish. And when they offer you the breakfast deal at check-in, say yes immediately. Le Méridien Chiang Rai meets my expectation.

This is a good hostel with a great location right by the bus station. You don't even need a taxi if you have luggage, as it's just around the corner. We had a private room without windows, but it had air conditioning and ventilation. The shared showers were clean, though it felt like we were the only guests in the hostel despite its considerable size. In the morning, they offer a modest breakfast of toast, an egg, and jam, and you can also make coffee from the machine. The receptionists were friendly, although they made us wait an hour to check in, even though the hostel was completely empty.

Nice room! We did stay there for 1 night before heading to CNX and the service there was amazing. Nice view, the pool is clean and well maintained. A bit cold if you swimming at night. The room is spacious and tidy. The front desk helped us rent the motorcycle. They have nice bike, new, and you just no need to go to their place, just stay at the hotel and they will come to support. The front desk was really helpful and nice.

Location wise is good, there is a 711 2mins walking distance and 20mins drive to central Chiang rai. It is also near Lan Muang night market. However I find that the shower head water is a little small and hair dryer also not working. But overall service is excellent and hotel is clean.

🇬🇧I absolutely adored my stay at this charming family-run hotel! The receptionist was incredibly helpful and friendly, going out of their way to assist me . The hotel itself is beautifully decorated with wood & minimal style. It has a cozy, inviting atmosphere. I highly recommend this gem to budget-conscious travelers and anyone seeking a truly authentic local experience. 🇫🇷 J'ai absolument adoré mon séjour dans ce charmant hôtel familial! I recently stayed at this hotel and had a mixed experience. On the positive side, the hotel was very clean and well maintained. The amenities were excellent, including a swimming pool, gym, bar, spa, and several food eateries, which made the stay convenient and enjoyable. However, there are several areas that need improvement. The air conditioning in the room was not cool enough and was not effective, making the room uncomfortable at times. The rooms are also due for renovation, as they look quite dated. The Wi-Fi connection was poor, especially since we were staying on a higher floor, making it difficult to use the internet reliably. Another issue was the lack of soundproofing we could clearly hear conversations and noise from neighbouring rooms, which affected our rest. Lastly, the reception service was quite slow, and the check-in/check-out process took longer than expected. Overall, the hotel has good facilities and cleanliness, but improvements to the rooms, air conditioning, Wi-Fi, soundproofing, and reception efficiency would greatly enhance the guest experience.

Wonderful guesthouse! It's cozy, has a lush green area, a large clean pool, and provides clean white towels, as well as beach towels. They offer coffee with cookies, and the staff is very friendly. Water is replenished in the room daily, and there's daily housekeeping. We checked in late, but they met us and showed us to our room without any problems. On the downside, the blankets were thin, so we got a bit cold. The Wi-Fi wouldn't connect, and we couldn't get the TV to work. Otherwise, definitely a thumbs-up!

Like a little sparrow, the amenities are equipped. If one is doable with common bathrooms/toilets, this is excellent. The flooring is well varnished with good grade epoxy and feel good on the soles. Boom the inn-keeper is meticulous in cleanliness and helpful with guests' request. I recommend travellers that are not too picky.

The swimming pool is relaxing. The gym is awesome with many equipments. I stayed in the standard room, which is old and not so enjoyable for me. The breakfast is very simple, offering dishes of local flavor. Worth noting that there’s no lid to cover the dishes; as a result, I saw a fly stop on the rice. This made me uncomfortable. Hotel free WiFi is super weak and not easy to get connected.
