Very close to the town centre. The night market is literally 10 mins walk from the hotel. You don’t get lots of foreigners, it is mostly local and pristine place to visit.

It was good overall. The daytime security guard was exceptionally friendly and provided excellent service; I was very impressed. My only minor complaint is that the power went out while we were sleeping on our checkout day, lol.

A Fading Gem with a Fantastic Breakfast The Wang Tai Hotel feels like a grand dame from a bygone era. Walking into the lobby, you can see it was once a truly luxurious place, and that sense of scale and history is still there. However, it's clear the hotel is in need of a bit of a makeover. While everything is clean, the decor and some furnishings feel a little tired and dated. That minor point aside, our stay was very pleasant. The staff were exceptionally helpful and friendly, always going out of their way to assist us. The breakfast, however, was a wonderful and unexpected highlight! Instead of a standard buffet, it's ordered a la carte from a menu. Don't let that worry you the range is huge, covering both Thai and Western options. Everything we ordered was freshly cooked and absolutely delicious. It felt more like a restaurant experience than a hotel breakfast. The large swimming pool is a major plus – perfect for a refreshing dip and lounging in the sun. The location is also very good, making it a convenient base for exploring Surat Thani. In summary, if you can look past the slightly worn edges, The Wang Tai Hotel offers incredible value, spearheaded by a stellar breakfast, great pool, and excellent service. A little refurbishment would easily make this a 5-star experience again.

Good location if you don't want to take a night ferry, helpful staff. The bed is rather hard, good thing I was prepared and had my own shampoo etc, the toiletries the hotel provides are too basic. I'm quite sensitive to noise, the room was good, no sounds. Bust station just in about 4 blocks from the hotel, you can buy a transfer ticket bus+ ferry to an island (Pangan or Samui).there's also Harmonic restaurant near the bus (coach) station, quite good.

It’s nice for a sleep, not much to do in the area but the hotel has a really nice cafe that’s attached to it. But it closes early so nothing else to do really

The rooms are ok and the location is ok ( you should notice that there is 2 hotels with this name, in in the center of the city and this one). The service was ok. We mentioned we have 5yo daughter, and booked premium room with extra sofa . The didn’t want to give us extra blanket or bedding. We paid extra for breakfast - and got “a la carte” - 4 choices of rolls (chicken or curry inside at 8 am) and very limited options for hot drinks. We couldn’t order a tea or iced Americano. It wasn’t written in anyplace, so we couldn’t know, and was very disappointing because we were with kids and looked specially for a place with breakfast. It could be a nice place if you don’t need a breakfast or going anywhere.

I had a good experience at this hotel. The accommodation was very good, bed a little hard but very clean, and the service was very good from check-in to check-out. The location is ideal, especially being so close to a Michelin-rated restaurant, which was a highlight of our trip. I would highly recommend it for a relaxing and high-quality stay. Close to the river and night market and bus services for onward journeys

The staff were friendly and helpful. The room was clean and comfortable. The breakfast was nice. There appeared to be no hot water in my room, however, it turned out I needed to leave the water running for 10 minutes for it to get warm. I would recommend telling guests this, as I had to have a cold shower on the first day at 5:30 am.

This hotel in Koh Samui is a decent transit stop. The front desk can help arrange car and ferry transfers to Koh Samui. The rooms are quite clean, with a simple industrial design. The breakfast selection isn't huge but is prepared with care. There's a highly recommended local restaurant right across the street that also features live music.

The room is spacious and clean. It is close to Saphan 100 Year Market. You can walk to the shrine market.
