Great
GGuest UserWe stayed at MU Petite and absolutely loved the experience! Although it’s a smaller, budget-friendly version of its sister hotel MU Hotel, it certainly doesn’t compromise on comfort or style. The rooms are compact but thoughtfully designed, clean, modern, and equipped with everything we needed for a short stay. There is a pantry at the basement level, so refill your water bottles there and there is a washing machine (RM8 per wash) too. The bed was very comfortable and the linens are 4 star hotel-grade. The staff were genuinely friendly and helpful throughout our stay, from check-in to check-out. We also appreciated the convenient location, within walking distance to several eateries, cafes, and local attractions, yet still tucked in a quiet corner away from heavy traffic. There’s no breakfast provided, but that wasn’t an issue since so many great food spots are nearby. Highly recommending Wan Chee Bean curd as a afternoon tea spot which is just 2-minute walk away (turn right from the hotel entrance and walk down the slope to a shortcut to many eateries). We needed a hairdryer, so we got it at the check-in with a refundable RM50 deposit. They don't really change the linens daily but they provide fresh towels everyday.
Overall, MU Petite is an excellent value for money, modern base in Ipoh without paying premium hotel prices. We’d definitely stay here again!
NNatGLDThe location is very central to Ipoh points if interest. Private parking was really helpful. Tidy city hotel, clean and welcoming. The window in the room was small and I felt the lack of daylight. It was a really good stay for one night.
MM2948MMy family and I just spent a wonderful weekend at the Ipoh ICC Premium Suites. The location is perfect. It's directly connected to the Ipoh ICC mall, which means you have a huge variety of food, shopping, and a cinema right at your doorstep. No need to drive in the heat or rain!
We booked a two-bedroom suite, and we were blown away. The space was incredibly generous – perfect for a family. The living and dining area was spacious and beautifully furnished with modern, comfortable furniture. The floor-to-ceiling windows offered a stunning panoramic view of the Ipoh skyline.
Everything was spotlessly clean and well-maintained. The kitchenette was a great bonus, equipped with a fridge, microwave, and washing machine. The beds were supremely comfortable with quality linens, ensuring a great night's sleep for everyone. The bathrooms were clean, modern, and the water pressure in the shower was excellent. We also loved the swimming pool. It ia indoor pool and not too crowded, and a fantastic way to relax and cool off after a day of exploring.
Ipoh ICC Premium Suites offers incredible value for money. You get 5-star comfort and convenience at a very reasonable price. It’s without a doubt the best place to stay in Ipoh for families, couples, or even business travelers. We will definitely be back on our next visit!
AAnonymous UserIt was an okay experience staying here. Easy and quick check-in. Basement car park is available at RM2/day with multiple entry. Validate your TnG card at the counter during check-in. Also, you need to pay for tourism tax RM3/night/room. Cleanliness could be improved especially the toilet.
Cons
No bed side plugs
Old and small TV
Water leaks when using the bidet (we booked two rooms only one room got this problem, we stayed at the 11th floor)
Pros
Wifi and aircond worked very well
Iron and ironing board
GGuest UserIpoh doesn't have a huge selection of hotels. According to local Chinese, only the Weil Hotel is truly 5-star, with the Marriott AC being the next tier of upscale options. However, if you're on a budget and traveling with parents (three adults in total), this ICC (International Convention Centre) could be a decent consideration.
**Location:**
It's centrally located but not in the main Chinese district. It's a little far from some good supper spots to the east. While some Old Town attractions are within walking distance, using Grab (ride-hailing) makes getting around incredibly convenient, so transportation is a breeze.
**Facilities:**
The facilities are quite basic, reminiscent of refurbished dorms or simple rental units – which, for daily rentals, they essentially are, haha. They're reasonably clean, perfectly acceptable if you're not a neat freak. One of our rooms didn't have a window, but we were so exhausted from our travels that it actually helped us drift off quickly. **A heads-up**: The washing machine *does not* have a dryer function. (I brought my own detergent after reading reviews; the front desk *might* have some, but I didn't ask.) We had to improvise by stringing up a rope to hang our clothes in the living room, utilizing the AC's dehumidifier and the fan on maximum, which thankfully got them dry sufficiently overnight. Our room was on a higher floor, offering great views of Ipoh – saves you a trip up Perak Cave Mountain for the views, haha! The trade-off, however, is that noise from nearby bars and convoys of motorcycles can be quite loud at night. That said, our exhaustion meant we didn't notice it once we were asleep. Still, light sleepers or noise-sensitive individuals should definitely factor this in.
**Breakfast:**
The breakfast is very much a 'better than nothing' situation – extremely basic. You even have to prepare your own noodles! My advice is to just grab a quick bite and a drink here, then head out to experience the amazing local food scene (which, let's be honest, is the whole point of coming to Ipoh!).
GGuest User(Unit 6-13)
I was disappointed with the cleanliness of the apartment. The sofa and dining chairs had noticeable dirt, and the toilet and kitchen appeared yellowish. I also felt uncomfortable using the kettle and ended up purchasing water from 7-Eleven instead.
Additionally, I noticed that our unit was on the same floor as the children’s playground, which is connected by a fence. However, the fence does not have a lock, allowing anyone from the playground to easily access our unit and anyone can see from outside if the living room curtains are left open. Furthermore, the sliding door lock was broken, making it easy for someone to enter from the playground. Although a technician came to address the issue, I still felt uneasy since the screw was loose, and for an expert thief, this kind of sliding door is quite easy to open.
I checked in around 8 PM after a long day of traveling, and it was frustrating to deal with these issues upon arrival. Resolving the sliding door problem took about an hour, which added to my stress. I believe it would be beneficial for owners to check these aspects before guests arrive.
Unfortunately, my experience did not align with the expectations set by the photos. Despite I opting for a higher-priced for Muji unit for a better experience, but I found it lacking. Regrettably, I will not recommend this unit to my friends based on my stay.
PS : You cannot lock the door or you will be penalised RM100. You may refer photo for more info.
JJazzyRinSpacious and sparkling clean! These are the first two things that come to mind when thinking about my recent stay. The room's layout, which included two toilets and a separate small living area perfect for dining, was a standout feature. The convenience of the minibar was also appreciated. Although it's about a 15-minute journey from the city, don't let that put you off – the services offered are top-notch. If you value space and cleanliness, this hotel is a great choice!
AAnonymous Userthe hotel is just 10 minutes to ipoh greentown , and aeon is just 10 mins away also. varities of foods around the corner , the hotel room is spacious . the laundry service need be more alert . the receptionist needed be more alert and remember about customer request .value for money stay . good for normal stay , service 7/10 . i would say
Llu_with_a_viewFantastic stay! Clean, comfortable pillows & mattress (without a bedframe - not a problem for us but just so you know). Nice sized room with hanging area & shelf. Good AC. Sufficient amount of toilets/showers, & shower has hot water. The location is great, close to the train station & by many restaurants. Note: reception is inside the compound, not on the street. Check in was simple and service friendly (though one gent on the desk couldn't help us with any info on buses to the Cameron Highlands). Pool area was cleaned daily. Would stay again.
