Amazing
MM224587****This hotel was truly the highlight of my trip to Japan. Nestled on the hillside, the views from the window are breathtaking, especially from the infinity pool where you can overlook most of Beppu. It gives you a sense of serene detachment from the urban clamor, as if you're uniquely clear-headed amidst a busy world. During our stay, there were occasional showers, and after the rain, the mountains would often become shrouded in mist, making the landscape incredibly dynamic โ sometimes clear and picturesque, other times beautifully hazy and ethereal.
The hotel's hot springs (onsen) are another major feature. The male and female baths are separate, ensuring privacy, and each has its own outdoor bath. What's more, the male and female sections switch over daily, so if you stay two nights, you get to experience both unique bath areas. The hotel also provides guests with traditional Japanese yukata robes and geta (wooden clogs).
Regarding transportation, since the hotel is on a hillside, they offer a shuttle bus. However, it's small with limited seating, so reservations are essential. What's fantastic is that if you can't reserve a spot, the hotel *provides a taxi free of charge*. Let me emphasize that: free, free, free! So, the only potential inconvenience of staying here is perfectly addressed.
While the standard breakfast selection is decent, they also have a 'hidden menu' โ definitely ask for it!

Amazing
GGuest UserIt was a very clean hotel and I had a comfortable stay.
The staff were very attentive and helpful in responding to each of my requests. They were also very kind to my children.
Once you've stayed here, you'll definitely want to return.
I've stayed here many times, and each time a new wing is built, it's always evolving in a good way.
The buffet (with all-you-can-drink alcohol) and hot springs are the best!
TTommy TingweiVery nice modern style ryokan nestled in the hills of Beppu. Rooms are very nice and big, with our private onsen bathroom. We opted for the dinner and breakfast, and they were both pretty good and tasty.

GGuest UserThe hotel building is artistic designed, staff are super helpful and friendly, and fusion dishes at the Peak restaurant are excellent. The environment and surrounding are very pleasant but donโt expect convenience stores nearby.ย
The only negative thing is they have onsen built in the room. When first stepped into the bedroom, thereโs a strong smell of sulfur. The hotel probably wants to address it by having good ventilation such as air freshener machine prior to check in otherwise guests would get the wrong impression of poor/dirty drainage.
GGuest UserWhen I made a reservation, there was a lot of difference between the exterior photo and the real exterior, but I thought it was an old country house, so it was understandable. After check-in, I was assigned a spacious room, but the interior looked neat and the tatami mats looked new, but the hair and dust on the floor seemed almost unclean. I cleaned it myself.
The dinner was delicious and the hot spring bath was small.
The next day, breakfast was well prepared and luggage was kept until the time of use of Hyotan Onsen.

Very Good
KKiawaijaoI had the happiest stay here! The hostel is cozy, clean, and very welcoming. The staff are super friendly and always helpful, which made me feel at home. The location is perfect and convenient to explore the city. The atmosphere is cheerful, and I met so many nice people during my stay. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a fun and comfortable place to stay!
AAbby KimmIt's a capsule hotel. The only downside was the lack of a proper door separating the restrooms from the sleeping capsules, making it easy to be woken up. However, the staff were incredibly thorough and helpful when explaining all the necessary information for the stay.
GGuest UserIt is an old ryokan.
The bathroom also needs to be equipped with hot and cold water.
The size of the room is satisfactory.
It's very cold, but you can control the heater.
Although it is a weekend, the price is too expensive and you have to pay a 1000 yen hot spring tax even if you do not use the hot spring when you check out.
