Parking was easy and spacious, everyone at the hotel was very kind and professional, room was very nice, clean, warm with nice views. I don't have much complaints except for check-out was done through a machinery method and the hotel only had one machine at the check-out area.
FYI they also had employees who could speak English, which was great for forigners!"

"Had an amazing stay at Beppu Hatto Onyado Nono Beppu — definitely one of the highlights of the trip!
The onsen experience here is truly exceptional. The hotel offers both public and private hot spring baths, all beautifully maintained and very relaxing. After a long day out, soaking in the onsen feels incredibly therapeutic. I especially loved the thoughtful touches like free ice cream and Yakult after the bath, plus complimentary ramen at night — it really elevates the whole experience.
The location is perfect — just a short 1–2 minute walk from Beppu Station, with easy access to trains, buses, restaurants, and convenience stores. This makes traveling around Beppu and nearby areas like Yufuin super convenient.
The hotel itself is clean, modern, and has a nice traditional Japanese touch with tatami flooring throughout. Staff were friendly and helpful, making the stay even more comfortable.
Overall, a perfect stay if you’re looking for a relaxing onsen hotel with unbeatable location and great value."

"The check-in process was smooth. There was no room card provided; instead, I was given a password to access my room, which was stated on a formal document. Be sure to take a photo of the password and keep it safe, as you’ll need it throughout your stay. Since there is no room card, there is also no formal check-out process—simply vacate the room by your designated check-out date and time.
The room was spacious and well-equipped with full amenities, including a water dispenser, clothes-hanging space, a balcony, a TV, and a bathtub.
There was no housekeeping service during my stay, so you’ll need to keep the room clean yourself. However, the hotel staff kindly placed fresh towels and new amenities in a basket outside the room daily for guests to use.
The hotel is located near Beppu Station, although it requires a bit of walking to get there. A Don Quijote (Donki) store is conveniently located just opposite the hotel. For convenience stores, you’ll need to walk a little further in the direction of Beppu Tower.
The hotel also offers a welcome drink at the lobby and has coin-operated laundry dryers on the first floor. Additionally, there is a washing machine available in the room.

Additionally, the women's hot spring bath was recently undergoing renovations, meaning men and women had to use the onsen at separate, designated times."

There are two supermarkets nearby, which is convenient for buying food, and it's also easy to get to several hot springs. "## Environment:
The location is very convenient, just a few minutes' walk from Beppu Station. There's a Lawson nearby and plenty of restaurants. You can walk to the beach in about 10 minutes.
On the 3rd floor, there's a free hot spring. If you want to use it, you can pick up a yukata and belt from the toiletries area on the first floor. It's on a lower level, and I didn't see it at first, so I had to come back down to get it. There's a good selection of toiletries, including disposable makeup remover and facial cleanser.
## Cleanliness:
The room's cleanliness was decent. The facilities were a bit old but still clean. The hot spring only had two hot pools, one cold pool, and a sauna. There was also an outdoor pool just big enough for one person. You just take off your clothes, rinse off, and then soak. However, when I was soaking, I noticed a lot of what looked like exfoliated dirt floating in the pool. The water circulation didn't seem to be very timely, so I only soaked for a short while and then left.
## Facilities:
There's a washing machine and dryer, which I think cost 300 yen per use. The room has a refrigerator, but it doesn't seem to have a microwave; that's probably in a common area. It's quite quiet.
## Service:
The service was very friendly. Opposite the restroom on the first floor, there's a self-service luggage storage area where you can set your own password and retrieve your belongings, which is very convenient."

"The room and the Onsen were EXACTLY like those in the listing and were absolutely stunning! The breakfast was delicious and the range more than adequate. AAnonymous UserThe staff were incredibly friendly and enthusiastic, proactively helping with our luggage. The hotel facilities are excellent, and the private onsens offer a high degree of privacy. Each onsen also has its own unique character and is not crowded. I highly recommend the Yakushi-no-Yu.
One area for improvement is the lack of blackout curtains in the rooms; I was woken up by the sun around 5 AM. Additionally, regarding the dinner and breakfast plan (one night, two meals), as it features traditional Japanese cuisine, it might not suit all foreign palates. However, for the cultural experience, it's excellent.

The hostel is clean and provides a drink bar with hot and cold beverages including soups. They also have mangas and a few video games provided. The room is spacious and comfortable.
Cons:
The location is about 10-15 mins from the Beppu station, but close to Donki Beppu and convenient stores. However, they DO NOT support early or late check-in. They asked us to leave the baggage unchecked and unattended when we arrived early. The point where we disappointed was the notification of the check-in time. Most hotels/ hostels in Japan support early or late check-in but seems like they don’t have enough staff for that. We didn’t realize the the check-in is required by 8pm. They called us around 7:10pm-ish to inform the check-in deadline time. And we tried to negotiate cuz we was very far away and was in the mountains. We called them back cuz we tried to speed up but it almost caused an accident. The answer we got was NOT SUPPORTIVE. They only said customers had to read the check-in time on the website (Trip.com) and they couldn’t wait even we said we would be late for 5-10 minutes at the fastest pace of our journey. Luckily, there was a group of customers who was checking when we arrived (20:05 pm) so we could check-in.

The food, however, was just okay—nothing special compared to other Kaiseki meals I've had elsewhere. My mom even said she wasn't full. The small ice cream was delicious though! The staff's English was pretty good, and they were very enthusiastic when communicating.

**Pros:**
1. **Excellent Location:** It's just a 5-minute walk from the JR station, the bus stop for Fukuoka, and the bus stop for the Beppu Hells. The Fukuoka-bound bus station (located near a shopping mall) is also conveniently reachable within a 10-minute walk.
2. **Stunning Infinity Pool:** The infinity pool offers breathtaking views, including Beppu Tower, and is perfect for photos. Unfortunately, it rained heavily during my stay, so it was deserted during the day. The operating hours are quite reasonable, covering most of the day during my visit.
3. **Impressive Lobby & Dining:** The main building's lobby boasts an impressive design. Dining options are available on the first floor, and at 3300 JPY (approximately 160 RMB), the price is quite reasonable, comparable to what you'd expect at a star-rated hotel in China.
4. **Convenient Amenities & Services:** Shower caps and other amenities are available for collection at the front desk. Luggage storage is also provided.
5. **Spacious & Quiet Rooms:** Rooms are spacious. The hotel is quiet, ensuring a very good night's sleep.

GGuest UserFor my one-night stay in Beppu, I chose Meimatsu Oetei. Although it's an older hotel, it's incredibly well-maintained. The Japanese-style room was advertised as 15 sq m, but it felt much more spacious in reality. There are public baths on both the rooftop and the 3rd floor, with separate facilities for men and women. Swimsuits are not allowed, nor are mobile phones. The ocean view from the room was absolutely stunning, and you can even catch the sunrise in the morning. Highly recommend!

CClean_MartinI've stayed here before, and this time I brought a friend and booked a larger room. It's a historic inn, but the building and decor don't feel old at all. The Japanese-style room has a really nice vibe, and the smell of the tatami mats is so soothing. The room itself is incredibly spacious; I honestly think three or four people could comfortably stay in that one large tatami room. On the top floor, there's a hot spring with one indoor bath, a small outdoor bath, and a small sauna, all using natural hot spring water. The breakfast selection isn't huge, but all the dishes are local specialties or popular items from Oita Prefecture, so you'll definitely eat well and feel full. The downstairs parking used to be free, but now it costs 700 yen per night.

location: it's relatively further from the station , around a 8-10min walk. there is a 7-11 just around the corner
room: my room came without a bathroom but for the ladies are 3 cubicles shared among the 7 mix gendered guests on the floor. i did not have to wait in line at all. there was more than enough space in the room to open my suitcase wide and still feel comfortable. bed and pillow was a bit hard though, and you can hear anyone talking loudly downstairs outside the building as the room is on 2nd floor, tho that doesnt happen very often.
food: amazing balanced breakfast that changes everyday - really delicious!
onsen: the one on 2F was smaller than 1F, but very good and comfortable. clean too. you can book a private onsen room for 500yen (50mins)
staff: all of them were super friendly, helpful and made me feel welcome. there are english-proficient staff available 24H as well :)

The hotel's location is superb, right outside Beppu Station.
This hotel opened in 1974, and it felt like the last renovation was at least 20 years ago. The ceilings are quite low, but the rooms are fully equipped. Despite its age, thankfully everything is still in good working order. An unpleasant odor had long since seeped into the walls, unavoidable.
The private onsen (hot spring) on the 7th floor had its windows open, letting in steam, but I didn't mind. After washing up, soaking in the tub was truly relaxing.
For the price, it's alright.
