Anonymous UserI don't understand why this hotel was prioritized in my search results. It's essentially a budget hotel. I chose it because I saw great reviews online, saying it was super close to the station – right across the street – and had a generous breakfast.
However, when I actually got there, I found it was still a good fifteen-minute walk from the JR station. So, if location is your priority, I'd recommend other hotels right next to or even inside the JR station, like the Nikko. If you want a better quality stay, you could always take a taxi to other mid-to-high-end chain hotels in the city center; at least then you're guaranteed quality.
The breakfast was just okay, nothing special. The 'exquisite Japanese breakfast with seafood' only consisted of a tiny plate each of sashimi and shrimp. I found the rest of the food to be pretty average. Don't be fooled by the luxurious seafood rice bowls in the promotional photos...
As for the room, I arrived at the hotel close to 7 PM. When I entered my room, I found the window faced an outdoor staircase, which was dark and quite unsettling. The key thing is that the room photos during booking didn't show this kind of layout for this room type, so I asked to switch. The hotel, however, said it would cost extra. I thought about checking out, but it wasn't an option. So, I just paid the extra and endured two nights. It was pretty frustrating, to say the least.
Service and Facilities: Don't expect much from a budget hotel's service; it's just adequate. You get two 330ml bottles of water daily, no more. The room was very damp. Even though I kept the bathroom dehumidifier running 24/7, the bedding was still damp and uncomfortable to sleep on. After all the previous issues and discussions, I couldn't be bothered to 'battle' over the bedding now. The TV has screen mirroring, but no cable TV. If you want to watch something, you have to log into your own accounts on TikTok or other apps, which is quite inconvenient for someone used to having the TV on for international news.
So, overall, I definitely do not recommend this hotel.

The location is great, right next to Tanukikoji, and it's just a few minutes' walk to Don Quijote.
Facilities: There's a hot spring, but I didn't get a chance to use it. There's also a self-service laundry, but it only accepts coins, no electronic payments.
Cleanliness: It was very clean and tidy; I had a comfortable stay.
Service: We arrived at the hotel at 2 PM and were told we could store our luggage first, but check-in wasn't until after 3 PM. We dropped off our bags and went out to explore. We came back after dinner to pick up our room key.

Anonymous UserStayed here for 4 days and 3 nights. The location is excellent, right between Tanukikoji 1 and 2. There’s a FamilyMart downstairs, while McDonald’s, a bookstore, and drugstores are just across the street, making everything very convenient.
The hotel lounge offers free coffee and tea, which was a nice touch.
I would skip the breakfast. The selection was limited, and some of the fish didn’t taste very fresh and was quite dry, so it wasn’t worth paying extra for.

CHM@This hotel is truly excellent. Its location is very convenient, just a short walk from the train station. One of the highlights is the complimentary welcome drinks available throughout the day, which adds a nice touch to the overall experience. The breakfast is also incredibly premium, with high-quality options across the board.
Honestly, almost everything about this hotel is great. The only downside is that the room is quite small, making it a bit difficult to fully open a suitcase.
If I have the chance to visit Sapporo again, this hotel will definitely be my first choice.

I stayed at this hotel a few days ago. The location is quite convenient, and it's easy to take a walk to Hokkaido University from here. There are also convenience stores nearby to buy milk, drinks, rice balls, and sandwiches, which is very handy. The hotel breakfast wasn't really to our taste, though.

Novak001The location is fantastic! You can access Tanukikoji shopping street directly from the back door, and it's a short walk to places like the prefectural office. The room was spacious, and the breakfast curry rice was delicious, especially with an onsen egg (mostly because Hokkaido rice is so good!). Coming back after a day out and having a soak in the large public bath on the top floor was incredibly relaxing.

Guest UserThe hotel room is spacious, and the location is excellent. After leaving Nakajima Park, you can reach it by walking straight along the main road and then turning right. The hotel also offers a free shuttle bus to JR Sapporo Station. The Executive View Room provides great views, and the room is so large that you can fit as many large suitcases as you need without any problem.

Guest UserThis is a historic Japanese onsen hotel. The hot spring water quality is genuinely good, attracting many Japanese families and couples. There are also quite a few Korean families and Western tourists. However, the overall facilities are a bit old, and the flow within the onsen area is quite complex. There aren't many pools, but they are spread across multiple floors with lots of stairs. Walking around like that **in that condition** felt a bit awkward and cold. The open-air onsen on the 16th floor is shared by men and women at different times, so if all family members want to enjoy it, one day definitely isn't enough (see the last picture for the onsen schedule). The 'water world' is fun and great for kids, and soaking in the hot spring after playing there is very relaxing. The dining is just okay, nothing special, as they mainly cater to group tours.
P.S. The scenery in Jozankei is worth exploring, and the nearby ski resort is worth a visit (the kind for playing in the snow). The kids had a blast.

Anonymous UserThere's a free shuttle bus service from JR Station, I took the 13:00 bus and arrived at the hotel at 13:45. The staff kindly allowed me to check in early, which was really nice. They have a water park and large onsen facilities. Both the breakfast and dinner buffets were delicious; even though the variety wasn't huge, the food quality was consistently good. The Chateraise desserts and ice cream bars were especially tasty! On the day I checked in, there were Japanese, Hong Kong, *********, Korean tour groups, and even a Japanese school group. Although there were a lot of people, the hotel grounds are extensive, and the buffet items were refilled very quickly both morning and evening.
The hotel has a classic feel, but everything is very well-maintained. The most traditional thing was that the air conditioning in the room was pre-set to 25 degrees Celsius, and the windows couldn't be opened. Given the current weather, it was a bit stuffy...
